Location is great, all sourrounded by gardens, a small lake and walking distance from the beach. Really nice for walking, jogging and cycling with the family. The house/accommodation is very disappointing. It seemed abandoned... few furniture (sometimes not enough for a family of four...), many of the lights weren't working, really poor WiFi signal (a minus as we are working remotely and the kids are having online classes). The cherry on top are the nearby houses in construction (and there are a lot), so you can imagine the noise from 8am until 7pm (this Saturday they even started at 7am).
We rented a one room apartment with view over the Troia Marina. The apartment is very well equipped with great natural light and view over the marina. the furniture was well preserved and the cleaning was great. The apartment include one parking place in the garage. Great value for your money.
I had been cycling from Faro toward Lisbon and had booked this place from home. As I approached, there were condos, manicured lawns, a golf course, and then a complex of hotels, buildings and such. I felt like I was at a resort... which I suppose it is. The room is fabulous and very reasonably priced. The best of it for me was the walk out to and along the amazing beaches. There are views across to Sesimbra and Setubal. Misty green hills across the deep blue waters of the estuary. Amazing.
Lovely stay for the second time at the Tróia beach apartments. We’ve stayed for 3 nights early September and last year for 4 nights early July. We have requested the same apartment and that was provided. The apartment is stunning, lovely views, very modern and clean. However, for the price we’ve paid there are a few details that could be improved such as having a microwave and a toaster. We’ve also noticed that there were only 2 water glasses and wine glasses, which is not enough for a apartment that can take up to 4 people. Some more pans to be able to cook would be useful too. Probably the apartments were well stocked to start with but as time passes by it needs restocking and a little bit more of care.
We had always wanted to see Troia, and came from Faro, arriving at Praca do Quebedo station via Pinhal Novo. We were not sure where the catamaran ferry was, but just walked downhill through the cobbled streets - not easy with our wheely cases. It only took about 15 minutes till we could see the port, and its easy to find the catamaran.Everyone else seemed to have their shopping so I guessed it might be more expensive and limited on the peninsular. Troia is a beautiful location but I was glad to just stay 3 nights. The designer apartment was lovely but short of some practical things for self catering, and we didnt like the clear window to the bathroom from the bedroom! But it was just 3 nights and its all part of life's rich tapestry! We ate out once, looking out over the lights of Sebutal, and cooked for ourselves twice. The supermarket was quite good, reasonable choices, and the beach was stunning. The apartments had an infinity pool near our block, and it was great watching some tall ships looming round the coastline heading for the estuary.…
The apartment was conform to the images... perfectly clean, the view, ocean and marina side, is wonderful. The area is very quiet. I would probably come back and certainly recommend it. The price is correct. Reasonable deal definitely.
This a great place to go with your family, or on a romantic week end (have done both. There are several choices, Marina apartments, River facing apartments, beach facing apartments, and Beach Houses. If you're going as a couple, I recommend the Beach apartments, just over the beach with a great view, very well equipped, and comfortable. If you're lucky you will be able to see some dolphins from your balcony while having breakfast! When going as a family, with several children, I would recommend the Beach Houses. It's a villa, very spacious, and within a walking distance from the beach, the supermarket, the sports grounds, and the restaurants. With a huge living/dinning room and a balcony at the back you have plenty of space for the kids to play either inside or outside. I parked my car on the first day (private parking) and only used again on the departure day :-)…
My husband and I booked an apartment for a last-minute long weekend getaway with our two kids (ages 7 and 9). The apartment was very nice, with high-quality furnishings and materials, but completely underequipped... the bare minimum of kitchen utensils, no toaster, no dishrag, not even a bit of salt! We got the impression that these are privately owned apartments which the resort then rents out, so the amenities may vary. There was a weird cleaning service that came in at inconvenient times every other day to clean everything but the kitchen. And whlie the beach is just steps from the resort, it is on the estuary, not the open Atlantic, with an ugly factory on the opposite bank - much less picturesque and chic than the spectacular beaches of nearby Comporta. One perk (especially if you have kids and the weather isn't warm enough for the beach) is that you get access to the resort's indoor pool. In short, I'd say that if there is a special offer TroiaResidence may be worth it, but certainly not for the prices we paid. Either way, we definitely won't be going back.…
It's part of the Aqualuz resort but a 5 min walk to the TroiaResidence. Would have preferred to stay at the Aqualuz personally although you do have access to the pool facilities and dining. The room was ok not luxury as sold. Our room on the 1st floor had a tiny bathroom that would have been an issue for longer stay. The microwave advertised was nowhere to be found. Not sure if I would like to stay during high season, not many restaurants or cafes so be prepared to wait around during summer. Warning if you get the ferry over from Setubal as the street vendors ( fake goods ) look very intimidating. Maybe the resort could work with the local authorities on that one. Overall nice cosy suite but I personally would not want to stay during high season but that's me.
Sometimes it can be exciting to go to a typical tourist village, off-season. Not so crowded, value for money, still good restaurants to visit. But this did not work at all in Troia. Troia itself is pretty cool and you can go there with a ferry from Setubal. But it was a disaster. The room was ice cold (and I am used to living in a cold climate). It was impossible to spend the night there. The furniture from the balcony was stock-plied in the room and everything was terrible. But I was there in Febuary. I guess it is something else in June...
