The resort is beautiful with lots of places to spread out and “discover”. The pools are really fun and the beach is lovely. The food situation did get old after a few days, as there are only two dinner choices for restaurants. The sushi restaurant was fantastic. The spa could use a BIG makeover, the therapists were really great, but the facilities were rundown. The do have bicycles on site,,,but they desperately need to be replaced! They barely work. The rooms are spacious and the housekeeping was consistently good every day. Great for families and couples relaxing.
Oh man, This hotel has changed names so many times, its not even Funny. We are locals. This hotel was made as a 5 star resort more than 15 years ago when there were no major hotels in the area. It still has the greatest infrastructure, in the area. But the maintenance of the rooms is terrible. Our room was completly covered in this humidity smell when a room was recently flooded. When I checked, I could see the watermarks on the walls near the cieling. I asked for a De-humidifyer, which arrived 1 day later, and in the 5 days that we stayed, I emptied the bucket 19 times. Imagine how much water was inside the room. all the furniture had water marks on the legs. I got really sick (Stuffy nose, sore throat, fever) last two days at the hotel, and it took 2 weeks to get over it after leaving the hotel. Of course they didn't have a room to re-accommodate us. The Hotel is not on-top of the beach, so its not really a resort in my book.…
The hotel is well done over all and the rooms are excellent. The service in the hotel is good. The problem is the main restaurant is run like a Chuck e cheese with screaming and running children left to do as they please, as you try to enjoy a meal. The service is substandard and no one responds to requests to resolve the chaos. A badly run restaurant can spoil the night and trip. If you like having children yelling and screaming like banshees, then this is your place.
I've heard it's the most luxurious of Panamá, so it's BEEN on my bucket list! Checking in/out had very friendly staff. Dinner at the Japanese restaurant was off the chain: friendly waiter, great service. The grounds were beautiful, and the view from my room was to my liking. Sunday a.m. I went to breakfast, and the staff was unfriendly, no smiles from anyone; or checking to see i you needed anything! The selections were not up to par. For the cost of the rooms (I went solo, so paid same as a family of 4) with breakfast included, they could have done better. I went to shower around 1a.m., and there was NO hot water! I mentioned when I went to check out, and was asked if I tested if there was any in the a.m. - I said no. And I was upset with myself as I ordered sushi, placed in the fridge in my room, and forgot to take it with me :(…
When we decided on a day trip to Santa Clara and El Valle, I needed a spot that was relatively midway to stay. None of the beach side resorts by Santa Clara and a little further south sounded too appealing, but then I found the Buenaventura Golf & Beach Resort. I checked in via the app while sitting in a hammock on the beach at Santa Clara and was notified around 2pm that our room was ready. Since I'm a Gold Bonvoy member, they upgraded us to a lagoon view! Check in was a breeze and I used mobile key the entire time. The entire property is quite large and we did get lost in a few roundabouts before we found the actual resort. But the property is beautiful and very well maintained. Our room was fantastic. It was huge, clean, and so bright. There was even a little treat left for us in the room of local Panamanian sweets. They recommended that we make a reservation via the QR code for dinner and breakfast, but I really didn't think it was needed as we were one of maybe 2-3 other parties dining. It might be different during busier seasons, but I got the sense that we were there during low season. Dinner at Criollo was great, service was impeccable and the food was actually very good. Breakfast was good too - the buffet selection was quite varied and they have a made to order juice bar! The pool was big and nice, pretty deep, so you can get a proper swim in. Honestly, it was a great stay and I wished we had more time to spend another few nights.…
I have visited this resort a few times over the last 5 years. It's a lovely resort, with excellent staff. Probably the best in Panama, but on my visit a few weeks ago, it seemed so run down compared to before. Pool tiles missing, lamp posts knocked over on the street, and every single swing broken in the kids playground. For the best resort, and probably the most expensive in Panama, they have some serious cleaning up to do to be considered 5 star to me.
This property is ocean front with several pools between the resort and beach. This is like a little community. Everyone is extremely helpful and friendly. Our room was kept clean, organized and well stocked with towels and other items including water. This is a peaceful and beautiful place to stay. Complimentary breakfast is wonderful. I would love here if I could!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Marriott Buena Vista Golf and Beach Resort. The landscaping and foliage was the most beautiful I have seen in any hotel… So much lush beauty all around including an enormous and majestic tree out front that was about 100 years old. Royal and coconut palms, flowering bushes and lovely trees made this property stupendous. The resort has a variety of beautiful pools both large and small and Jacuzzi hot tub and restaurants and swim up bars to enjoy. It has sand volleyball and tennis courts. The rooms were spacious and super clean and the sundries were nice as well. TV offerings were good as was the WiFi connection. We received a personalized welcome letter and some sweets from different parts of Panama. I was so excited to have a room with a bathtub to enjoy (they are elusive in Panama). The bed was very comfortable. My only complaint is that the pillows are not fluffy enough. You can borrow complementary bicycles and ride around the community, which is absolutely stunning with the beautiful homes, golf course, beautiful birds and bright green iguanas! There are several restaurants to choose from. Tai Kai had excellent sushi. Try a mango strawberry daiquiri out by the El Faro pool area. Criollo had good food also and the breakfast was absolutely outstanding with so much to choose from and all delicious! The beach was nice but nothing special and there’s a little zoo nearby to enjoy. It is a kid and pet friendly place, although I was happy to see an Adults-Only pool! The highlight of our stay was the incredible service we received from absolutely every employee. They all went above and beyond to make sure you were well taken care of with a kind word and sweet smile. The Panamanian people are the nicest! I hope I didn’t leave anyone out but I want to give a special recognition to the following excellent employees for a job well done: Miguel, Evelin, Stefany, Elisabet, Denia, Ezequiel, Eric, Álvaro, Osvaldo at Criollo and El Faro. Jamie, Itanys and Jean at the front desk. Yulenys our housekeeper was very accommodating. A special thank you goes out to all those employees in addition to the excellent behind the scenes such as the cooks, bartenders, cleaners and gardeners! Management has done a great job on setting the standard of customer service excellence… please let them know how appreciated they are. We will definitely be back!…
This place is an amazing place to stay! We were welcomed warmly and manager came out to greet us personally (I am Ambassador level). I got a suite as I wanted to enhance experience (didnt wait for comp upgrade etc) and it was a beautiful room. We noticed some leaking by bath tub and called maintenance and they come up. We left to the beach. . . . In the middle of the day, an attendant found us (it shows their level of customer service as they found us) and he stated I needed to come immediately to room. My worst fears were realized.. .the pipe broke and got our clothes wet (not everything but most). The manager was there and apologized profusely. They took our clothes and said they would wash and dry them. My wife's fav espadrilles were wet and of all the things that got wet those were the items I felt would not be "fixed" The manager assured me that they would make things right. I went to go talk to my wife and gave her the bad news. She took it in stride and we just continued to enjoy our tine by beach. When we came in the staff had moved us to a "casita" which is a wonderful upgrade and our clothes and items had been moved in and were nicely washed and pressed. Everything looked great. A short time later someone came in with my sport coat and my wife's shoes and they were immaculate! Wow what a top notch place. Then they comped us some items or gave us a credit I cant remember as we stayed there in March. We had talked to Ricardo Diaz Rooms Manager and Victor Concepcion Peren Gerente General. Both were spectacular! The restaurants in this gated community were also amazing. Breakfast and dinner were great and grounds are immaculate. The beach and pool areas are wonderful. This place is a gem! We will come back no doubt and recommend highly as this is one of best places in Panama and in general compares to top notch places in world. Service is what sets them apart! and there was no one here! We felt we had the place to ourselves. Yes you can go to Hawaii or Costa Rica but those places are overrun with no place to enjoy quiet or beach. My wife and I will come back here no doubt and highly recommend!…
Stayed in several resorts during the pandemic : Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, and more. This one isn’t that great. The people are very friendly and staff is very nice. But there are so many things that just add up to a less than 4 star rating for sure. 1) freezing room 2) no hot water in shower 3) no welcome drink 4) very long lines to have breakfast buffet omelette bar 5) missing furniture from room 6) dinner reservation messed up at the restaurant that is only open one night out of our three 7) waiting for check at bar late at night for 1.5 hours, so we left, then they followed us to our room! At 10:30 pm knocking on our door! 8) and absolutely no paper menus or activity schedules. You have to use phones (internet slow) and sadly our eyes are getting old and if it’s for the environment (vs pandemic) they use paper towel rolls to clean omelette bar so they aren’t saving any paper ! Many of these things have been addressed to the staff.…
