Unfortunately we had a bad experience dining here, the staff were inexperienced and kept us waiting too long for our meal. Many were complaining and some left. When the food arrived it was most unacceptable. Not a good evening meal!

Firstly all the beers were from the local brewery (Palmers), the bar Served 5 bitters which you could try in what they call a flight of beer, outstanding. The food was excellent their... More

Stayed in a room with harbour view, four poster bed, and lovely en suite. Comfortable bed and room. Service good. But at £170 for a double with breakfast, ouch! It should be! Only thing that let it down for us was the clutter in the residents corridors and stairwell. Vacuum and ironing boards in the corridor, and stacks of papers... More

Visited here with some friends during a weekend break away. Decided to visit the George after one friend had previously had a meal here and recommended it. Told on arrival there would be a 45 minute wait which we found surprising as it was only 18.10 but accepted this fact and ordered some garlic bread to come whilst waiting for... More

Stayed at the George when I was attending a party at the fish restaurant across the road. The room was beautiful and very well equipped with a shared bathroom with the next room (we had booked the two rooms together). This is ideal for families. Tea and coffee facilities were in the room along with TV, twin beds and plenty... More
