Hotel was very nice throughout stay - rooms nice and modern, great breakfast, nice spa. Also team were all really helpful. We had a 10 month old and they went out of their way to help us with things like sterlising bottles which was really appreciated.
Soak up Shakespeare , see the chapel he married in, stay in a Superb room, swim in a sparkling spa and sip afternoon tea in the truly magnificent grounds . The Food is excellent with a dedicated chef and delightful wait staff. Deals to be had , so don't miss this excellent hotel
I organised a complex business event recently and couldn’t be more happy with the way that Laura, Kelsey, Stephan, Vivienne and Wayne responded to my every request - including my constant need for changes to timings and table plans in the weeks leading up to the event! All the feedback I received from those attending (with a few very minor exceptions), was extremely positive. I always knew they cared as much as I did about giving my guests a great experience, and I have no hesitation in recommending Billesley Manor to anyone for an event like this or a luxury night away.
Not a good experience. Attended here as part of a corporate day with my company, and from the start it wasn’t great. First we arrived (at the designated time) and there was no coffee. This was fixed, but still, you’ve got to have gallons of coffee at the start of a corporate. That is standard stuff. We spent the morning in the room and then went outside for a BBQ lunch (slow service, almost no chips, but nothing too bad). On returning to the room I was surprised to see the tables hadn’t been tied up, the water hadn’t been refilled, the litter was still on the tables. Very poor for this kind of event and pretty basic stuff I’d have thought. Finally to dinner. Wow. First, it was late, but that was the least of our problems. Starter, a ham hock terrine, was OK. Some bread or some Melba toast on the plate would have been good, but at least it was edible. I was just pleased that I’d not ordered the goats cheese that was seemingly 3 squirts of cheese, 3 slices of beetroot and 6 leaves. The main however…a hunk of over cooked, grey lamb shank with sad looking veg and one of the worst fondant potatoes I’ve eaten. The meat was completely tasteless, there was almost no sauce and it was just a sad plate of food. I left 3/4 of it. My colleague asked for some extra veg as she’d decided, bad as the veg was, it was better than her chicken which she also left. She was told, very bluntly, no, with no explanation. And so to desert. A small slice of cheese cake that I have no doubt would have been perfectly OK had it been served cold. But no, it was warm and so had a terrible texture, combined with half melted ice cream. The services too was disorganised and uninterested with little care, that there were no courtesy checks were likely a good move for the team as you may not have got the answer you’d have liked… Look, I know this is mass produced food for a corporate dinner, served to 50 ish people at the same time, but even that kind of food and service can be done well. Some good service, some care in prepping the food, and ideally not a grey, tough, tasteless lamb shank. Having never eaten in the proper restaurant I have no idea if this is reflective of the food served there, but it’s safe to say I didn’t leave with a positive impression.…
Grounds and seating areas were delightful. Staff very polite and helpful. Lovely bedroom and bathroom that had been refurbished, and comfy bed. An issue with dinner in the restaurant was quickly resolved to our satisfaction.
The hotel is set in gorgeous well kept grounds offering peace, quiet and comfort. Rooms were spacious, the bed massive and everything was so clean. Every single staff member from reception, to waiting, to the spa and beyond were exemplary. Breakfast was great . All in all a very very good hotel.
We had a fantastic stay for one night. The hotel and grounds are immaculate and especially fresh given the refurb work. The bar and lounge areas are grand places to sit and enjoy a good selection of drinks. The food was a real highlight!
Was given a voucher purchased by our children at Christmas. Do not purchase a voucher for this hotel they will not honour it without a further payment despite it having plenty of expiry date. Dreadful customer service. Very disappointing.
Spent the day here 27/7/22, as a treat for my friends 60th birthday. Had a lovely facial and massage with Hannah who was professional and friendly. Had a very tasty lunch in the restaurant with a nice glass of wine. Chilled by the pool then had a nice G & T in the gorgeous gardens. Would definitely recommend.
We stayed here to celebrate my 80th birthday. It was a memorable experience throughout. The staff were helpful & friendly & did everything possible to make is special, We stayed in the Shakespearean room which was stunning with a four poster bed & wood paneled walls. The food in the dining room was 5 star. We would highly recommend Billesly to celebrate that special occasion.
