Unmatched for variety and quality of activities (sail, kayak, dragon boat, climb, zipline, skywalk, archery. climbing wall and climbing trees, and our famous boat and boomnet expeditions), LooLa is a family favorite as well as the number one destination for overseas school trips. LooLa is Bintan's most exciting destination for those who want to experience the real Indonesia, appreciate a mix of total tranquility and healthy action, and like sitting on a balcony above the sea and under the moonlight!

A huge thank you to everyone at LooLa who helped bring our Week WIthout Walls to life. We entrusted almost 200 students to LooLa in various locations around Bintan, with over 100 staying at their Eco Resort, and the rest at different hotels on the island. Each group followed a bespoke itinerary, meticulously planned to align with educational objectives and promote personal development. The LooLa team was dedicated to ensuring our students maximized their experiences, providing valuable suggestions on how to engage them prior to their departure. Their flexibility and willingness to accommodate changes to the itinerary and accommodation arrangements were greatly appreciated. Grades 6 and 7 students loved the adventure activities and spending time at the well-equipped resort. Grade 8 students had a wonderful time meeting and cooking with local people, while Grades 9 and 10 students found their service WASH project at a Bintan school deeply rewarding. We have had some wonderful testimonials from the students who enjoyed their experiences, and saw the value in what they were doing. The trip was exceptionally well-organised and supported, fulfilling all our objectives for the week. Thank you!

Hi Hattie, It's so wonderful to read the second glowing review from an international school! While we are happy to host every type of guest, as educators ourselves, we know what a life-changing experience a good schooltrip can be, and we love it that the students and teachers can have such a great time while connecting with Bintan's village families and leaving a lasting legacy of life-saving water and sanitation and all the things that does to turn villages into future-ready sustainable communities! A big thank you to NLCS for being a pioneer twice-over: once to bring the largest group over after COVID, and then again for trying our new parallel programs simultaneously with 5 year groups, as you refer to above. We look forward to hosting grade 5 again in October, and then an exciting 2025!

I went with Loola with my small child (5), partner and adult friend. When we got to Loola, we found out we were the only ones there for the weekend and that we were upgraded to the villas from the chalets. The villas were very cute and nice rooms.
We ate meals in three different locations but I think the living room location (up on the hill) was the best. We got to do a lot of activities that were really fun and especially enjoyed by my 5 year old. She went on the 12 meter tall flying fox 6 times. Unfortunately, the sky rope was not open and for some reason we didn't get to do the dragon boat. But we were pretty beat and satisfied with the activities we did do. We had a nice kayak trip out to the small islands, particularly the one that had mangroves. I recommend you spend some time exploring the mangroves by boat or even by foot - we probably should have spent more time there.
The staff were very nice though at times things were not communicated super smoothly in English. We would have liked some nature guided walks on land and at low tide but weren't sure how to arrange that. Nevertheless we did our own walk at low tide and had a fun time spotting shrimp and fish.
The mosquito situation was a bit annoying in the afternoons and evenings - so I recommend long pants or deet. Also, the boat ride was about twice as long as I thought and we ended up at the end of the customs line so it took an hour to get out to the parking lot. This isn't really the lodge's problem, but just something to be aware of - I guess you might want to sit near the door on the boat and be prepared for a longer journey.

It was a very rewarding experience, in the lap of nature, away from the world of gadgets and gossip. It was a pleasing sight entering our room when we saw that all the corners had an ethnic touch. The wooden furniture was strong and stylish. Even though we basically wanted to relax, we still did activities like doing tie-dye in tee shirt. My daughter enjoyed archery and the short kayaking experience during the time of high tide was enchanting. The food was awesome and what impressed us the most was the variety. Every meal was different and the taste still lingers in our mouth. The staff was friendly and responsive, always catering to our request. The visit to the farms and fishing village was a good exposure for my daughter.
I would like to thank the host, Isabelle, warm-heartedly for being kind and caring in every way. It was wonderful meeting her.
Over-all, a surreal experience, gaining solace with the ebb and flow of tides and sleeping peacefully with the soft sound of the lashing of the waves, in the background. (I have been to many sea side resorts, but never stayed so close to the sea. No risk involved though, the sea water surrounds the rooms only at high tide).
A trip that rejuvenated the mind and soul!!!

Manage your expectations and you will have a good time. This is a great spot to getaway from the city life in Singapore and also a good place for you to try all the activities that can be found in adventure camps back home. Since everything is included, your trainer can arrange almost anything you want. If you want to have free and easy time, sure! Our trainer, Harry, was very friendly and kind and funny, and we all had a great time over the 5 days. Rest assured you will not be bored here. Some of the activities we enjoyed the most were the lowtide walk, kayaking, boomnet jumping, campfire, flying fox and tree climbing/jumping. There is also a football, volleyball and basketball court that you can play in your free time.
As for the accommodation, we tried both the chalets and the villas. The chalets are barebones, with no aircon. The water pressure for the showers in there are not the best, but that was not an issue because we chose to shower near the office (cold water but if you shower during the day it would not be a problem, water pressure is strong there) Villas come with a huge shower and even have aircon in the room, similar to normal hotels.
Food was excellent, with 3 meals a day and with a healthy spread of all varieties of food. (usually 2 protein) The food gives very home cooked vibes and is sufficient for the activity packed days you will have.
Overall, treat is as a good getaway, and manage your expectations, adn you will have fun and a rested holiday

Thank you for this response, and thank you for singling out our staff by name. Means a lot to them and to us! We're very happy to hear that you liked the food and the activities. As to the pressure in the showers, this has been solved! Just before your visit, we had re-engineered some of the water systems and made some errors in the process. But now that problem has been solved, and not only that, we've been installing hot water in the chalets too, so on a next visit, you could enjoy hot showers in the chalets!

We visited Loola Adventure Resort recently (Dec 2022) and had a great time. We were picked up at the ferry terminal on time and we're driven safely to the resort. The staff is very friendly, warm and hard working. The activities were all well planned. They were very good at following all the safety protocols and we're mindful of how to work with and encourage kids. My 6 year old daughter was so happy that she didn't want to leave the place. Staff takes feedback well and act upon it quickly. They accommodated our vegetarian friendly diet. In all it was a fun, adventurous trip and will highly recommend it for travelers who want to have fun and do all the wonderful activities they have there.

What a fantastic stay at LooLa, the perfect blend of adventure activities and blissful relaxation, something for everyone in the family. The LooLa staff were incredibly attentive to all our needs, exhibiting excellent professionalism in each of their roles, giving us full confidence in the safety of all of the activities and making our stay extremely pleasant. In our sea chalet, the ocean breeze made any need for fans or aircon redundant, keeping away any mosquitos, and the gentle sound of lapping waves provided for a soothing sleep. Great variety of excellent quality food. All in all we felt like being attended to in someone's home rather than in a resort, the staff are all working in harmony like a big family. We cannot recommend a stay at this resort highly enough.

Hi Mike, Sorry for the very late reply, but you were one of the last foreign visitors to visit us before the COVID lockdowns. Great to hear that all is well in your beautiful native Austria, but if the family comes back to visit your former home country (Singapore), we'll be delighted to welcome you again!

I have spend five wonderful days at Loola with my children (10 and 13) this February. We were offered a daily program of exciting activities onsite as well as visiting some local attractions. This was ideal for my situation as I had to balance work obligations with children holidays. I myself greatly enjoyed kayaking and sailing but was able to intrust my children to do some other activities under staff supervision and focus on work. I can add that everybody was very friendly and competent, paying special attention to issues of security for climbing and other exercises with equipment. I initially chose Loola because of its focus on activities and am very satisfied in this respect. What was unexpected is that Loola is not just a typical resort with a wider range of activities but a place of reflection on the solutions to sustainable living. I was very glad that my children had a chance to witness and experience what these ideas imply in everyday practice and a real life setting.

Thank you for your very kind feedback! Our own children are teenagers (between 14 and 19) now, but we remember very well the days when our kids were younger, so we always wanted LooLa to be a place where parents can let their children enjoy activities the whole day long, under the natural care that Indonesian people are so good at. We're very happy to hear it worked out well for you for a whole 5 days! In addition to offering children (and parents!) a rich set of adventure activities, we are now working on adding and enhancing our eco activities (plastic recycling, mangrove tree planting, Safe Water Garden building, appreciating green energy and rainwater harvesting, etc) and letting our guests experience that these activities aren't just good for the planet, but that they are a whole lot of fun too! On behalf of our wonderful team, Marc van Loo and Isabelle Lacoste (the "Loo" and "La" in LooLa)

We stayed in the Sabine Villa and it was huge. Extremely spacious and comfy, a great choice for friends or large families.
The activities at LooLa were unique and fun, creating a playground out of the natural environment. There were high elements (including some made out of coconut trees) and water activities like kayaking and sailing. Kids are sure to enjoy these.
The food and the views from the villa were great.

Last Saturday i stayed at Loola a place i've been dreaming of for a long time. Very suitable for seeking peace away from the noise. The thing that is very memorable and rarely found in inns is usually when I can capture the moment when the sun rises and is greeted by the chirping of birds welcoming the morning. We can also play canoeing while enjoying the beauty of islands around the villa. The friendliness of the employees like family makes me feel Loola is my second home. Thanks Loola

Thank you for this very kind review! It is wonderful to see that during this COVID time, LooLa also means a lot to our Indonesian guests. Our staff was always very popular with our foreign guests, but I'm very happy and proud to hear they are also wonderful hosts for the people from our beloved Bintan island. I believe this was the second weekend in a row you came to LooLa?

Hi
We have lots of things to see in the sea, you can go with one of our staff at low tide to explore the sea bed.
Otherwise, you have the normal insects you can find in the tropics and occasionally, you can spot a snake. We even saw an armadillo once!
