We stayed the weekend and rented the Grand Lodge. We were 9 adult and 3 kids in the lodge. It was huge, the pictures on the site do not do justice. There is a hot tub outside which was great! There was a total of 6 rooms, huge kitchen table, big living room, 2 bathrooms. The best part was the big porch outside with lots of chairs overlooking the river. Bonus propane fire pit! Our kids loved their weekend. The place was very clean, quiet. We went tubbing at Vickers tubing (30 mins drive from the resort). They also allow pets which was awesome!! We would go back again anytime. The restaurant on the resort is also nice to have!! Altought we recommend calling to order ahead because on Saturday it was very slow to get our food. But the food is very very good. They also have a few saunas on the resort. Really cozy!…
The accomodations at the "Lodge" were just perfect for our family. There are 6 bedrooms and most if not all have a queen bed plus a twin. The dining table was huge and I see how this would be perfect as a business gathering place. The fireplace was a great feature in the big comfortable living room. We noticed the tv has TSN and this allowed us to watch a sporting event everyone wanted to see. This intire site would be great for corporate conferences and corporate get aways. We ate out at the restaurant and had a drink in the pub under restaurant and were pleased with the food and the service is 5 star. The internet was fine in lodge for streaming music and our own internet searches on the several phones we carried. To do meetings or zoom calls, I think one would have to go to the conference space at restaurant, where internet was stronger. The view from the deck over water is a huge feature. We enjoyed the sauna and the hottub and had we stayed longer would have fired up popane firepit on patio as it looked very inviting. We didnt bring our snowmobiles but the other Cabins were sledders and this was an obvious mecca right of the NB trail system. We loved this location, we will definately come back. …
This property has the potentiel to be a much better product for the visitor. Its bucolic location by the river and well-constucted cabins look very inviting but on entering our assigned cabin (not the one we had originally booked) we were dismayed to see how lacking in supplies it was for a cabin to house 4 people with its 2 double bedrooms. There were only 2 chairs to go with a rather small table and a kitchenette featuring a bar sized fridge, smallish microwave and single burner hotplate with a single pot to go with it -no pans. For cutlery there was an abundance of knives, a couple of spoons and a lone fork. Equally sparse were dishes with 3 glasses a couple of plates and bowls. The only information given to me on check in was that the dining room was open but with a grilled cheese sandwich listed on the menu at $14 we were glad to have brought our own food and muddled through with the minimal dishes and cutlery. Inexcusable is the layer of dust between the logs of the cabin and a puddle of dirt found underneath a huge arm chair we moved. We had to dust off the exterior chairs before using them but could do nothing about the array of cobwebs above us near the roof. This cabin is in dire need of a thorough good old-fashioned house cleaning. The latch on the screen door doesn't work properly and had to be readjusted on every exit. Despite these minor woes we enjoyed our quiet evening which seemed so peaceful compared to our city life. This ended when the pub closed late at night and a noisy crowd of folks staying at the lodge whooped and screamed their way back; one even barked like a dog. All in all not the kind of stay we were anticipating so we would be very reluctant to retun or recommend this "resort" to any friends.l…
Our cabin (#7) was clean, comfortable, and right on the river. Beautiful view! The kitchen was equipped with all the basic dishes, pots, cutlery, etc., that we needed. Before and during our stay, staff was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. There was plenty of wood for the wood stove, and the cabin was warm when we arrived; staff had already started the fire for us. Lots of hot water, and the water pressure in the shower was great. The pub nearby was very convenient, and I thought the "Best Damn Burger, Period" lived up to its name. Our experience differed from some of the other reviewers - accommodations are basic, but it is a cabin after all. We had TV, could connect to the internet, did not have leaking or odor issues, and there was no plastic on the windows. It was a relaxing weekend retreat. Would love to visit again to take in those river views in other seasons.…
Not worth wasting your time even looking at it for a place to stay. We were put in the " trail's end 1". At first glance we notice plastic over the windows, ok, so it's winter, that's fine. Then we go to go inside and get an odor of sewer, gross but ok. We get inside and it's old, that's fine, I know it's not a 5star hotel. There is a kitchenette but nothing to cook with. Mouse traps under the sink, again, gross but ok. Proceeded to test the tv, nope, doesn't work, phoned the office, they said they'd check it out. We left on our skidoo trip and when we came back the ceiling was leaking! The heat was left turned on so it would be warm when we came back and all it did was melt the snow so it could drip inside. And no one had fixed the tv. We went back to the office to ask for another place to stay or our money back. We got our money back. The guy working said this was not the first time he had heard complaints about this cabin. So we drove 2 hours to go back home, rather than stay in that place.…
We found Pond's Resort by chance as we were travelling to the coast. We loved it so much that we decided to stay an extra night. The cabin was super clean, super comfortable and we found everything we needed. The river view was beautiful and the afternoon sun playing through the fall foliage as we sat on the cabin porch was blissful. Staff and owners were very helpful in every respect. Great place, would love to return.
Quaint little resort directly on the banks of the Miramichi river. We arrived here in the afternoon on another overcast day but the charm of the wooden cabins and beauty of the location in autumn colors took away the grey. We reminded them that we had a complimentary salmon and cracker plate, which they delivered after we checked in (and they forgot the champagne that accompanied it) and our left over wine and helped wash it down. Unfortunately we did not have the requisite orange clothes to take a walk along the river - it was deer hunting season and hunters are known to shoot at anything that moves - so we could not walk along the river bank path. Too bad indeed! We played pioneers for the evening, complete with out wood burning stove, and hit the sack early. No internet will do that for ya!…
Stayed at the Pond's Resort on the Miramichi for a union conference and it was an awesome relaxing environment. The cabins were clean and fresh and had all the amenities required. But above all was the amazing view of the river.
This was my second time here and it really needs a bit of updating honestly. I know it's not supposed to be a fancy hotel but I would almost rather camping in a tent instead. We were in the cabin closest to the road and there were bikes and vehicles speeding pass all night. The beds are extremely uncomfortable. The blinds were broken in the bathroom. The toilet seat moved around every time you sat down. The main door also wouldn't shut properly. Other then the cabin (what you pay for) the view is great. Food was good at the pub as well, nothing amazing mind you but just regular pub style food. I don't think we'll be back - especially for what we paid ( ~$200 for the 4 of us in 1 cabin).
This was a business seminar weekend with arrivals scheduled for Friday afternoon, ending Sunday. Ponds is a charming location; with accommodating staff, great views, spotless cabins -- all this and sophisticated, delicious food as well. ... as the song says, "who could ask for anything more".
