Hosts Steve and Pete made us feel at home after an intense 3 day abel tasman walk. The welcome coffee and bikkies were a nice touch. Steves coffee making skills were amazing, my partner even got a takeaway coffee on departure! The room was very luxurious with nice smelling toiletries.

What a lovely, lovely stay this was. Nothing was too much trouble but everything has already been thought about. We were greeted by our very friendly host, Steve, who owns the establishment. There were flowers in our room and chocolate's and he brought us a pot of tea which was so very welcome. They moved the rooms round without any... More

Great host (Steve) who makes fabulous cocktails and looks after your every need. Rooms are very clean and the antique furniture is a pleasant surprise. The three course dinners on site are superb and the breakfasts were the best - especially the homemade jams. Would highly recommend Ratanui Lodge.

Nothing was too much trouble. From changing around a couple of rooms to suit our large group, to changing the meals to suit the evenings antics - the experience at the lodge was excellent. It made for a relaxing and highly enjoyable weekend with great rooms, great food and great company. Thanks!

We stayed here 2 nights, and wished we had stayed longer. Such a beautiful lodge, amazing rose gardens and surrounds, classy pool area, BRILLIANT dining room experience. Steve welcomed us to our huge room with a china plate containing a large brownie accompanied by fresh strawberries - and I was immediately won over. The room itself was well-decorated in "lodge"... We really enjoyed our stay at Ratanui and Steve was always available to help, make suggestions, serve drinks or just be of good cheer. Our room was spotlessly clean and the bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in. Steve could see we were tired from our drive and brought over tea and brownies on an elegant silver service.... My Mother and I visited Ratanui Lodge and we were not disappointed. In fact it exceeds every expectation we had. Steve, our host, made our welcome memorable with a personalised card and beautiful welcome drink/cake to ease our tiredness from our long overseas flights and travel. The next day he helped us with transport to go around the area. He... More

What a find! Nestled below a limestone bluff, Ratanui Lodge offers a very classy yet unpretentious experience. We were warmly welcomed by Steve who checked us in and showed us to our beautiful room. After many dining experiences at Ratanui Lodge, I finally decided to indulge myself and stayed 5 nights. The welcome from Pete and Steve was heartwarming, especially since I had arrived 24 hours early in order to miss forecast snow on the Lewis Pass. The room and bathroom were luxuriously appointed and very comfortable (the only thing missing was a full... More
