Hotel rooms ok, fairly clean etc Food is not nice at all- lunch dishes had no taste at all very basic etc Evening meal there was 12 of us- starters seemed ok Main courses- 6 of us had ordered steak but then we were told only 3 were available. I had ordered rare but steak was ridiculously well done (obviously couldn’t send back as they had no more) sweet potatoe fries were soggy & not nice. No salad / garnish A colleague didnt eat their main- veg wasnt cooked and fish was dry again no flavour / seasoning etc

Our 1st break since the Covid outbreak. All staff were helpful and cheerful. Evening meals were well cooked and tasty. Good choice for breakfast and nice. Special mention to the man serving the hot food, great character

Room was super basic no fridge or water. Toiletries were reusable on the wall rather than mini products which is surprising given the current climate. The room is unbearable hot, air conditioning didn’t work as they were so full of dust they couldn’t let air through and windows hardly open. The worst part is by far the bed! A small double hard enough to crack a nut, we hardly slept a wink! A understand it’s a budget hotel but not impressed!

Stayed one night, business. No one on reception on arrival but what appeared to be a security guard says he would let someone know I was looking to check in. Checked in about 10mins later good to be able to book evening meal and breakfast times. The bad I tried to use two sanitisers on the way to my room conscious that I had handled doors that would have been touched by alot of people but both were empty. The room was clean, amazing bathroom with a large shower but then (THE UGLY) I realised that the room was located near to a railway line (an incredibly busy one at that). I shut the windows, hoped the AC would work but it actually seemed to make the room warmer even though set to maximum fan. The trains seem to run all night about every 15 mins (assume must be port line) THANK GOD I HAD ANTIHISTAMINE tablets on me that knocked me out till 6.30am. I can't understand why with a fairly empty hotel rooms would be allocated so near the railway... I certainly would not recommend this hotel for a good nights sleep. Staff were attentive, I was a bit annoyed that I was going to be charged a 10 percent service charge in the restaurant when it was all self order (a good system which worked well). Wine was very expensive 7.20 so I would ensure you have a drink in your room. The food was mediocre if your going to serve international food make sure it tastes good... The curry was tasteless with just a bit of heat. Breakfast was good although machine cappacino tastes like frothy milk... The bed was comfortable.. But it's pointless having a comfortable bed if you have trains zooming past your bedroom window every 15 mins!

Stayed here for 2 nights over the weekend and was very disappointed , the grounds of the hotel were untidy, the grass had not been cut for weeks and the hedges needed a good trim, waste bins overflowing . My husband was not greeted as a spire elite member. Although the room was clean , the decor was in real need of updating , there was a hole in the wall to the side of the bed. The pillows were rock hard. there was also very inconsiderate guests , letting children run around the room above us from 4am onwards and noisy corridor outside at 1am . We booked breakfast for the first morning, there was no one there to greet us and show to the table, I had to go and find someone , I found a lady sat at a computer without a mask or face shield on , Then there was no chef to serve the hot breakfast, when he did appear, he was really scruffy with shoulder length hair that was not tied back and the food was luke warm... we cancelled breakfast for the second morning . All in all a very disappointing stay not up to usual IHG standards.
