It was my dream to stay one day on the most beautiful highway of the world that is the 1 in California USA. Literally on the middle of the highway and near from many interning restaurants and places this hotel is Avery good option in a location that is very expensive. It has a very good restaurant and the rooms...

Rustic old style motel with restaurant, bar, rivers edge and in the river seating. Central location to everything big sur. Fireplace in bar/restaurant area. Separate burrito bar and a few local shoppes on grounds.

There aren't many places in the area so we didn't really have a choice but had to stay here. It is a bit pricey but I wouldn't say it's overpriced. It's a beautiful hotel, with a comfortable bed, lots of space and modern bathroom. We didn't hear any noise from the street and the river just behind the Inn is...

The Big Sur River Inn is smack in the middle of the forrest with a mere 15 room motel along Highwat 1. Yes, the rooms were noisy with no view but the beds were comfortable and the restaurant was good. It's true that you will be paying for location as the nearby hotels are 3 times the price but they...

Our room was located steps from Highway 1. It became noisy before dawn with traffic. Construction started early on the room next door to us. At check out, we were not asked if we enjoyed our stay and the.desk person was not very friendly. We will not return.

We stayed at the Big Sur River Inn on Friday and Saturday evening for a wedding being held here. While the grounds are quite beautiful, the lodgings, restaurant and bar are just adequate. As other reviewers have mentioned, you are paying for the location, and paying quite a bit. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious, but nothing that would...

We came here for lunch and sat on the outside porch. Our waiter was nice and the food was great! I got the BLT and my gf got the burger. Both had a nice helping of avocado and the fries were tasty. After wood you can go down and sit in the river. It was so peaceful. We actually came...

So over priced, you are paying for the location. Staff are not as friendly as other places on the Big Sur (we arrived early, not to check in but just to ask if we could check in much later...guy on the front desk could hardly be bothered to talked to us, even though we were paying £300 for a 1...

We stayed two nights in September 2016. Accommodation is on both sides of Highway 1 at this charming, old fashioned retro charm inn. We stayed on the opposite side of the road of the main complex, a non-river side room. The string of a dozen rooms across the road has has a motel feel to it, all of them at...

I wanted to like this more but really though it was clean and functional, and had a porch I felt it was expensive, noisy (right on the main road) and quite ordinary. Shame really but the bathroom was small, dark and had a lack of hot water. No breakfast was served, given the price this was poor. if it wasn't...
