Having visited Langa Township last year and felt I'd seen something authentic, I wanted to take it to another level this year with a visit to a township even less likely to be playing up to tourists. I found out about tours from Liziwe's guest house with Andrew and harangued him for several months before we got to South Africa....

Liziwe's was very very helpful in accommodating all of our needs, setting the pick-up time from the airport, transport to the city and the township tour. I was very grateful for how helpful and flexible they were! Andrew took care of us from the beginning to the end, and we felt safe throughout our stay. Interestingly, he said that Donald...

We stayed at Liziwes for a night during our travels in South Africa based on a recommendation in the lonely planet, and what an incredible experience! We have to admit, being British and driving through the townships and shanty towns to get to the guesthouse made us more than a little apprehensive! But we received a wonderful welcome from Liziwe...

Dear Sophie Thank you so much for the great review we are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. This review will definitely help us to market our business. Running a tourism business in the township is always a challenge as the area is portrayed as a no go area. This is why it is so...

If I had one place to recommend to travelers looking for a bit of the true South Africa experience, the Liziwe Guesthouse would be it. After being picked up by Andrew, one of the Guesthouse employees, at the Cape Town airport, he gave me a brief history of the township and the work the guesthouse does for travelers and the...

Booked a township tour right where Liziwe's is located and received excellent service by our guide and great hospitality by the owner of Liziwe's. We did not stay at the hotel, however were given a tour of this wonderful establishment where the money spent goes right back into the township! If you want an authentic township living experience stay at...

I didn't stay at the guesthouse but had the good fortune of having Andrew take me on a walking tour of the Gugulethu and Langa townships. Andrew was prompt in responding to all my queries over e-mail and was more than willing to incorporate certain things I was interested in into the walking tour. He is an incredibly informative and...

We wanted to end our two week trip to South Africa with a township tour, and we had the great fortune to find Andrew to take us! He made the whole thing very easy, from the initial prompt response to our inquiry (and it was a very last minute thing!), to the great instructions he gave us for driving ourselves...

My wife and I were met at the airport by Andrew from Liziwe’s, spent one night in Room 3 of the guesthouse, and then given a private tour of Gugulethu and the Cape Peninsula before being dropped off at our longer-term accommodations in the Bo Kaap. We had arranged everything ahead of time by email, and it was clear from...

I had an amazing time in Guguletu! Liziwe's Guesthouse is an absolutely beautiful space and I received the best hospitality possible. The guesthouse is located right in the middle of the Guguletu township, which really provides a unique experience (and a very rewarding one, too). The people in the township are so very friendly and you will be welcomed with...
