My wife and I recently spent two weeks in Cape Town, visiting my daughter, who was studying abroad at UCT. The Carmichael Guesthouse was our home away from home. The accommodations, gardens, and overall home was absolutely beautiful. It is a short drive from all which is Cape Town, restaurants, harbor, vineyards, shopping, Table Mountain. The staff is outstanding. Most...

We visited Cape Town for the first time for 4 nights. Family of 4. The guest house is lovely with spacious rooms and comfortable beds. Very clean. Breakfast is very good. The location is about 12 minutes from V&A and 20 minutes from Table Mountain. Very easy driving back and forth. The owners Yves and Valerie are friendly and very...

Dear Qoda, We seldom get reviews from members of groups, so we are even happier to get yours. Thank you so much. The pleasure was ours, dealing with respectful guests. It's true that we are very conveniently positioned for whoever would go for a conference at the River Club. Should you or any member of the group come back for...

We had a wonderful time at the guesthouse. The guesthouse was beautiful - the rooms were clean, spacious and beautiful. We had all the amenities we needed. Breakfast was delicious. The hospitality was outstanding. The guesthouse is located right near the UCT campus and is a short ride from Cape Town's shopping areas and eateries.

carmichael's guesthouse is a very nice location to stay. close to the airport, in a quiet environment and "top" hosts Valerie & Yve. There's a nice garden where you enjoy a great breakfast, room and shower are super. We only had one day in CPT but we will certainly return for a longer stay to enjoy the city.

Dear Tom, Well, even though it wasn't really planned, we were pleased to host the 3 of you. As you mentioned, Cape Town is an awesome place, and one would need a minimum of 3 days to make the most of it, 5 being ideal! We are looking forward to hear from you again in the near future, and you...

My original booking at another guesthouse was messed up, so I was referred to Carmichael Guesthouse. As I didn't really have any alternative, I accepted the booking with a little apprehension. I was pleasantly surprised at the beautiful house that suddenly came into view as I opened the front gate. I was warmly welcomed by owners Valerie and Yves, and...

Dear Frans, What a pleasant rewarding comment of yours! Coming from such an experienced traveler, it's even more valued. Thank you ever so much. Well, it's happened in the past, that we got bookings through other neighboring guest houses, and I must say, it's often worked out in our favor. Valérie and I would only be too glad if you'd...

Did some lectures at UCT for a week, and stayed at the Carmichael. Excellent in every way - good rooms, good breakfast, helpful and amiable host, reasonable price, good location. Would stay again, and would mention it to others as well.

I stayed with three colleagues on a work visit to Cape Town. The Carmichael Guesthouse offered us a peaceful base for a very hectic week of meetings. The breakfasts were fantastic and the hosts warm, generous and very welcoming. I particularly enjoyed the fresh grapefruit juice from the tree in the garden!
