Family trip for a weekend away in the heart of Staffordshire, away from the business of town. We enjoyed quality time in the warmth of Seventh Heaven and Bottom Cottage. The scenic suroundings provided a relaxing setting (the lake and canal a few steps away, and the steam train railway nearby), whilst the warmth of the cottages with underfloor heating...

We greatly enjoyed our stay in this well-designed and environmentally friendly cottage. Alison was very helpful with providing dditionl furniture and cutery/crockery for a fmily meal, We enjoyed walking by the canal and shopping at the excellent local butchers.

Hello Thank you for your kind comments, I'm glad your family get together and meal worked out well. We too feel very fortunate to have such a good butcher close by and are looking forward to the tea house opening across the road on the canal side.

Foxtwood never fails to please whatever the weather. It's such a lovely site with something for everyone to enjoy. The cottages (and we've been in nearly all of them over the years!) are fitted out to a supremely high standard.

Fantastic long weekend for New Year celebration. The cottages are well-equipped and cosy. The children loved the table tennis and table football, playing out as often as possible despite the cold weather! Alison and Clive were very welcoming and helpful in making suggestions for pubs, walks and things to do. The location is beautiful, just wish we could have stayed...

Thank you very much for you kind comments. I was most impressed with how hardy you children were! We've been working over the last few days to help improve the canal towpath by digging some drainage from the muddy puddles, so hopefully we'll have at least one dry path soon!

Love this place. Great hosts, well stocked cottages and great surroundings. Views from the cottages of the canal, the owners cute dogs and chickens were lovely. Underfloor heating in Wharf was an added bonus

This was our second stay at Foxtwood Cottages. The location is ideal for us, as we need to be near Stoke-on-Trent to see family & friends there & visit museums & potteries, but it's lovely to be in the countryside & near to the Peak District. The cottages are comfortable, warm & well equipped. It's lovely to have your own...

It is always beneficial to provide feedback to assist owners to improve their customer experience - after all, real improvement generally comes not by improving one aspect by 100% but more fittingly by improving 100 aspects by 1%. Try as we could, we could not find any aspect of our visit (this was our 2nd) to Foxtwood which wasn’t ABSOLUTELY...

In a beautiful setting, with direct access to some lovely foot paths and a short drive from some stunning parts of the Peak District. We enjoyed a long weekend, 2 families in a well set out 9 bedroomed cottage with a fabulously equipped kitchen. Listening to the owls hunting at night was an added bonus. We will definitely be back.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Beautiful countryside setting, facing the canal on one side and our lake on the other. The relaxed atmosphere here envelops and calms, leaving you refreshed and invigorated. Children and adults alike can enjoy that old fashioned luxury of freedom, just to potter about or explore our woods and grounds, build a damn in the stream, watch the birds and butterflies, and listen to the occasional whistle from the steam train running in the valley. ... more   less
