Pretty location, very friendly people. We just stayed there for one day but I would stay there again. We went to Stoke on Trent to the potteries and thoroughly enjoyed Moorcroft, the Middleport Potteries and the Wedgwood museum.

We have just returned home after having our wedding ceremony and reception at the upperhouse and i can honestly say every single thing was amazing. The staff are so wonderful, the grounds are immaculate and the hotel rooms so luxurious. The wedding coordinator (Sam) made sure every detail we asked for was done and could not do enough for us....

Beautiful venue and surroundings .. Staff very friendly and attentive ... Booked afternoon tea as a birthday treat - I was a little disappointed in the sandwiches smoked salmon & cream cheese, tuna & cucumber & egg mayo - 1 fish would have been sufficient - I did notice that others had left sandwiches .. Very nicely presented but more...

Friendly and polite staff. The day ran smoothly. Because of the beautiful sunny day, the bride & groom were married in the beautiful gardens. The bedrooms were very sumptuous and decorated in the style of the building. Very comfortable indeed with all toiletries on hand. Also the usual supply of tea & biscuits. The fact that breakfast was served in...

The grounds of this hotel are beautiful and so is the surrounding area, I wish we had the time to explore the local footpaths. We stayed here as a base to visit Wedgwood , which is a couple of miles away, and the rest of Stoke. Our room was compact but comfortable, the shower room very modern. We had tea...

Shared a weekend lunch break with family and loved the countryside location with its open landscape views ... BUT ... the meal itself left me feeling completely let down. The menu reads incredibly well, with several vegetarian options and some interesting taste prospects on offer. The reality simply failed to deliver. The hog roast pate was great as a starter...

My husband and I, along with all of my family stayed at The Upper House in Barlaston for my Cousin's wedding in July 2016. We had all traveled up to Stoke-on-Trent to attend the wedding reception at this hotel and stay for 1 night. On arrival I was surprised at just how large the hotel and grounds are. There's a...

Generally very good but spoiled by the presence of a significant number of flies in the dining area. Breakfast buffet was open & flies were seen settling on food. Eggs at breakfast were also almost inedible, they tasted as if they had been scrambled the day before!! All other aspects of hotel as we would have expected from an establishment...
