Detailed Reviews
The website does state that the hotel no longer has a restaurant and that food and drink can be found locally by car. Unfortunately due to location, surrounded by motorways you need to drive or get a taxi to the nearest restaurant (a mile away). Sadly we couldn’t get any local taxi company (or Uber) to pick us up as the distance was too short. Greggs and subway are located within walking distance on the same site as hotel but close very early and are not restaurant sit down quality meals with alcohol. No bus stops are located near the hotel either.

After booking at George Hotel and it being absaloutely horrendous, we booked 2 rooms at this travelodge. Andrea, the lady at the front desk on the 11th and 12th September was absaloutely FANTASTIC!!!! She was so kind and so sweet, she gave us some take away menus that delivered to the travelodge as we were all starving, she was more than accommodating, telling us where the local garage was, Greg's, subways etc. Gave us plates and forks and glasses for our meals, super friendly lady and really helped cheer us up a little after a rubbish night! Thankyou Andrea! Youre an absaloute legend! We all really appreciate what you did for us! 5 star just for andrea 😁😁😁😁

What you want from a Travelodge is a clean room, friendly, helpful staff and a great location. Talke travelodge has it in bucketloads.. I was met by Andrea on the front desk who was a credit to the travelodge team. Friendly, courteous and helpful. The hotel was extremely clean as was my room and the location is convenient for traveling around the Stoke on Trent area. It’s reasonably priced and importantly right now, observing all the “covid”rules helping you feel safe during your stay. 10/10

No issues with Travelodge, very clean and tidy. Arrived at 4.15pm on a Sunday 24th April, food was supposed to be available at Greggs/Subway some 50 yards away. We knew Subway closed at 4pm, Greggs was supposed to close at 7pm on a Sunday according to the sign on the door. The building was closed at 4.50pm by a lady inside the building. as my wife and I and another couple approached the door. The couple in front knocked the door and the lady inside made motions with her arms to the effect they were closed. The time was as stated 4.50pm. When we spoke with the Receptionist at Travelodge, she stated they (Greggs) normally close at 6.00pm. All very confusing and No food available, time Greggs sort out their opening hours

We had a lovely stay at the Stoke Talke Travelodge. The lady on reception was really helpful - Andrea. She delivered extra towels and sugar/tea bags to our room and was helpful in providing information about local restaurants.
The strip light was flickering in the bathroom and she came to the room and replaced this for us.
Will stay again next time we go to Alton Towers!!
Thank you Andrea !!!

I booked 2 family rooms for me and my friend to help break up the drive to the Lake District. Upon arrive the lady on reception, I believe her name was Andrea(sorry if I didnt spell that right!) Was so friendly!!! She asked about our drive and if we hit bad weather. After we checked in, she was able to provide takeaway menus, told us about the local shops, and told us she could provide crocery for our dinner.
The room and bath were both very clean and had plenty of space. We were both pretty impressed with our family room.
I have to give another shout out to the receptionist. When I went to go get the crockery, she actually brought it to my room! Also, we had one of the children take a tumble outside and the receptionist was amazing! She brought out a first aid kit and totally helped out!! You could tell she actually cared!
Overall our visit was amazing and really reccomend this hotel!!!! Thanks for the great experience!!

Staff were really accommodating despite my child needing medical equipment delivering prior to our arrival.
Very friendly staff when we arrived (sorry I can't remember her name) and everything was made really simple too. We arrived at almost exactly 3pm and the room was ready so no delays.
There isn't a cafe/restaurant within the actual hotel, but we received multiple messages/emails that warned of this so we were prewarned and there is a greggs and subway just across the road.
Beds were a little too firm for us but otherwise we were more than happy with our stay and it made the start of a cbeebies land adventure stress free, which is always a huge bonus when travelling with children, especially when they have significant medical needs.

Travelled up to Talke for a birthday party on the 21 st of Jan, so booked into the lodge Friday and Saturday, found the staff very helpful, ( as a few of us had walking difficulties) booked us all on the ground floor and close together. ) very helpful about local events and any other things if we had problem . One lady in particular Andres was outstanding, rooms good and clean , bathroom good and plenty of hot water . In all for a cheap hotel it was outstanding.

Me and my partner stayed for one night for an Alton towers trip. This was a great location and about a 45-50 minute drive to the park with the morning traffic so not bad! The hotel itself was great. Spotless and the room smelt clean too. Great shower in the bathroom that was lovely and warm too. Bed was comfortable and kettle and tv both worked fine. The staff were so lovely, the two people on nightshift were super friendly and welcoming when we arrived at 22:30 and welcomed us giving all the info we needed. Being beside the roundabout I was a little worried about noise but we didn’t hear a thing and there was a nice view in the morning of the farm behind. Would recommend staying here, good spot for Alton towers if you don’t mind the morning drive and a clean comfortable stay. Thank you!

no they are just heated with a radiator .
Hi, yes across the road
Hi there, no you have to phone the central number.
No refrigerator. Rooms are basic but clean.
It's a straight run over the roundabout for 10min drive to the centre, you pass many takeaway restaurants on the way and two very good ones. Buffet island is a Chinese buffet with tonnes to choose from and a massive selection of deserts from candy floss to chocolate fountain. You also have Taybarns sat next to the premier inn that is also a buffet ( look at the website ) they have so much to choose from ( all help yourself) both restaurants sell alcohol.
Hope this helps
