Our stay at The Old Success was thoroughly enjoyable, with its convenient location just a few yards from the beach and adjacent to a public car park with a daily rate of £9.00. Initially booked for 3 nights, we extended to 4 despite experiencing 60 mph gales and rain. Our ground floor room in the new annex was comfortable and well-equipped. The rooms are tastefully decorated and include provisions our dogs such as treats, bowls, and bedding.
The staff were friendly and welcoming, particularly Andy and Babs who provided excellent service during breakfast, ensuring our dogs received occasional treats. The overall customer experience was exceptional. We dined in the bar area each evening, enjoying superb meals like the soup of the day and fish and chips, with generous portion sizes. Although Rattler is no longer available on draft, there is a wide selection of other beverages. We highly recommend The Old Success to anyone seeking a relaxing break.

We booked a dog friendly room for 3 nights and stayed in a ground floor room in the adjacent annex:
The location of the Old Success is just sublime right on the coastal foot path 100 yards from what is probably one of the best beaches in the country, (10)
Our room was clean, well equipped with modern conveniences and maintained to a high standard. The bed was king sized, very comfortable with crisp white bed linen. (10).
All the team at the Old Success are customer focused and hospitality champions. It is often unfair to give a shout out to particular members of the team as the back of house members also support their work with great food, cooked to order breakfasts (10), regular housekeeping etc but here goes, big thanks to Maddie, 'B' and Michelle who not only keep the ingress of sand at bay but see to it that the rooms are a delight to return to after a day out. Oscar and Leah, part of the front of house team, were friendly and helpful but again to be fair so were they all. (10).
Many places understandably make a charge for dogs as does the Old Success but all too often it is just that an extra charge. Not so at the Old Success our dogs were provided with beds, towels, food bowls and complimentary treats (10+).
So to answer the usual questions;
Q1. Would you return?. A. In a heart beat.
Q2 What was your most memorable moment ?. A The Seafood Platter.
Q3, What could we improve ?. A. Your servers juggling skills :-) you know who you are.
Bottom line is it was only a 3 day break but it will stand out as a most memorable few days for all the right reasons. THANK YOU.

This is the third time that we’ve stopped at the OS for a short break. As frequent visitors of the cove for longer summer breaks we wanted to visit out of season for a few days - it’s a lovely time to be there. We’ve always taken advantage of the good offers on accommodation in the quieter months of the year and booked one of the first floor rooms in the ‘new’ annex (it’ll always be new to me). The accommodation is excellent, and contemporary in style, everything you need for as short break is there. Breakfast in the restaurant has never disappointed and they use good quality ingredients and serve them well cooked and piping hot. We ate in the inn on one night too, which was equally excellent. Why only one night? Because there are so many other nice restaurants in the local area - see my other reviews. The cove was quiet just a couple of weeks before Christmas - we knew that and it was what we wanted. Lovely walks along an almost empty beach. If there’s a downside it’s the need to pay for parking in the main beach car park, but on balance you’d pay at any city centre hotel too. Staff are always pleasant and welcoming, we’ll most definitely be back for anther short break

A quaint old inn, very tastefully modernised. The rooms are uniquely decorated and immaculately clean. Well stocked with drinks and refreshments, including fresh milk in the fridge! We had amazing sea views in both of our rooms. There was a great choice of cereals, fruits, yoghurt, pastries etc for breakfast, including cooked options. We had an evening meal too - quite pricy but all very delicious. The staff were very attentive and accommodating. There is no parking at the hotel but we felt £9 for 24hrs at the nearby car park was pretty reasonable, compared to what you would pay in a city location.

Fabulous location within a stone’s throw of the Beach.
Staff were very friendly and helpful and the service were very good.
Breakfast was always freshly cooked as was the evening meal, the choice was very good and quality of food was excellent, locally sourced ingredients added great flavour to all meals.
The room was comfortable, our room overlooked the sea and the view was amazing, throughly enjoyed the sound of the sea 24/7, it was the break we were looking for and would return without hesitation. Despite the fact there was no onsite parking, the beach car park was extremely close and didn’t pose any issue.
If I could recommend one thing, the hotel should offer the option of parking in there room prices and add the cost to the final bill, either way it’s not a deal breaker

Unfortunately, the place is a little bit run down, not quite as it appears in pictures. The staff were very friendly and helpful, however, two bartenders (very hardworking) had been moved from another site to do the housekeeping, and unfortunately, our room was very dirty on arrival. We asked to reclean it, and they did it straight away which we really appreciated. The corridors in the pub are dim and dingy, and if you get a bedroom in the pub there is a strong smell of pub throughout. The location was lovely, we really enjoyed walks on the beach! The food for dinner seemed extortionately priced, so we chose to eat at the fish and chip shop. The breakfast was nice. Overall it could do with some TLC as it has the bones to be really beautiful if some effort was put in!

Check in went well, staff were very friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough to help. The room was clean and comfortable. My only criticism is that the room had outdoor bar seating literally 1 metre from the window/door to our room which meant that, in the evening, there was little privacy if you didn't close the curtains and door and, although it wasn't a rowdy place, I should imagine it to be quite loud in the summer. It was a bit strange walking to our room and passing people laying on their beds and seeing right into their rooms. However, the rooms are very close to the beach and if you wanted a surfing holiday then this would be ideal. You can hear the sea at night. Food wise, the menu in the room didn't match the menu in the restaurant (small detail) and it was very limited and quite expensive. Breakfast was cooked to order and all good. We had to wait a while for it but don't let that put you off. All restaurants are allowed one error - you could see they were doing their best. To summarise - I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a beach or social or surfing holiday. It is also dog friendly! And Sennen Cove is a lovely place.

I'd assumed looking at the map, that Sennen Cove was a typical Cornish fishing village crammed with houses. I was delighted that it's in fact right on the sea front. The clear Atlantic waters crashing on the beach just yards away. And as they say, the public car park is just across the road.
Perfectly clean, a warm welcome from all the staff. Supplies in the bedroom generous, even ground coffee and a cafetiere.
Good helpings of food, you aren't rushed in the restaurant at breakfast or in the bar at night..
This was the end of February, the electric heater in the room you could adjust as you wish, and you could switch on the heated towel rail to warm and dry the towels.
This was the end of February...so I had cloudless blue skies and mild weather. The blue Atlantic waves were thundering in, and I...kept well away.
Walk along the one village street to the collection of harbour buildings, and the lifeboat station then up to the top of the cliff. You look out to the Longships lighthouse, and right out to the Isles of Scilly on the horizon.
Or in the other direction walk on the soft sand beach, or the coastal path, not easy walking as it's crowded with granite boulders...you can walk north to Cape Cornwall and beyond.
I had one of the rooms in the old part of the inn. Mind your head!! on the roof beams.
I thought a fair price for a stunning location. I doubt that warm dry weather Is guaranteed in february. On the Atlantic Coast
Spotlessly clean
You park your car in the public car park. There are 24hour charges.

We live only twenty five miles from Sennen and had decided to book this as a birthday treat. Usually in January we go abroad to escape this month and the weather, this year we were unable to do that. We left home with snow on the ground which disappeared the further West we went. We had booked room 14 which turned out to be opposite the reception desk. My first impression was the big window filled with sunshine and the sea. Then I noticed balloons and "Happy Birthday" strung along the top. This was a little sitting room with a big screen TV although nothing on that could detract from the view. The bedroom area was also decorated. There was a bath with overhead shower curtained off on a platform to one side, a basin by the bed and a private toilet up a couple of steps. It was spotless and provided tea and coffee making facilities plus biscuits. Clearly some considerable thought and effort had been put into giving us a lovely welcome.
We had a very good dinner in the bar, pleasantly informal and a wide choice of menu. The following morning we had a really excellent breakfast, again a wide choice from avocados, salmon, porridge made from oats soaked overnight to my choice of a full English with everything freshly cooked and hot served on a hot plate. The only thing I missed was fried bread. The only thing we didn't need was the radio being impossible to escape from! The only downside was no parking available so we had to pay £9. extra. But as it was my birthday we had a complimentary bottle of wine.
Thank you staff for the kindness and warmth of your welcome.

We stayed in a room on the first floor of the annexe. The view is stunning and the room comfortable and spacious. However, three of the light bulbs were not working and as on arrival it was a wet and miserable day, we could have done with the extra lighting. This was reported to staff and nothing happened over our 2 night stay so I reported this again when I handed in our key. It would be helpful to let people checking in that there is no default for cleaning a room and you have to put a sign on the outside of the door to say you want it cleaned or not. We had assumed that the sign was for 'do not disturb' and did not read the back of the wooden sign so our room was not serviced during our stay. We did report it when we returned after our first day out and the offer was to clean it then but we were in and needing to use our room. It was also a surprise to find that payment for the room had been taken 2 days before our arrival. The holding credit card on the booking is surely just that and payment taken if there is a non arrival, giving the chance to use a credit card of choice at check in? No receipt was forthcoming and this had to be asked for when handing in the key. Our evening meal was good and, despite the inn being extremely busy, the staff coped extremely well and the meal was served promptly. Breakfasts too were good with a good cooked choice (the overnight oats are delicious!) and the service was very prompt. The upper terrace of the annexe was perfect on a sunny afternoon to relax in with an amazing view of the bay.

There is a ramp from the car park so you will be able to access the beach at low tide. At high tide you would have to clamber over large stones which would be difficult if you have mobility issues.
