Detailed Reviews
Room and facilities were good and had a nice alternative retro look. Arrived just after happy hour, tried to relax after a rough drive through traffic and the bartender was unpleasant and unfriendly. We had just checked in and paid $20 for two middies of lemon lime and bitters and a middy of beer, despite asking for a schooner. Popcorn machine was cleared up despite other people coming to the bar and trying to use it. Really ruined the atmosphere so we decided to hop back in the car to go elsewhere for dinner.
Given the only the only food and drinks are within the venue you’d expect a better atmosphere and experience.
Room and bed were nice, bathroom adequate. Although short a towel. At automated Checkout I was charged an extra fee despite paying the extra for breakfast already. Breakfast was a buffet but wasn’t replenished enough, and some items such as pastries and chia seemed not fresh.

Out of the way location means there is no traffic noise or people yahooing in the streets at night. Just off the M4 Motorway so easy to get places. Great restaurant and bar on premises and a pub up the road that is also good. Plenty of cafes or takeaways within a few minutes drive.
Front desk staff are very friendly and accommodating. I didn’t pack enough food for my 9 month old baby and didn’t want to have to drive to the shops but the lovely girl at the front desk was able to find something suitable in the kitchen.
Rooms were very clean and bed was comfortable. Room includes a stocked minibar and tea and coffee facilities. Bathroom comes with the usual shampoo, conditioner and soaps and for the women, the option to borrow a GHD hair straightener from reception if needed which is a nice touch.
We are looking forward to having an excuse to stay here again!

This is the second time i have stayed with Atura and what a hidden gem it is. The location just works while i visit family and friends in Sydney. I love the new check in and check out system, I work in tourism myself so a seamless check in works a treat. I do how ever want to give some feed back, after check in i decided to freshen up and treated myself to using the in house body wash, sadly there was nothing in there and looks like their bottles hadn't be refilled. Lucky i had brought my own from home. I decided as it was a really warm day and i would go down to the bar and have a drink by the pool, a 12 hour trip deserves a drink. Sadly i stood at the bar and there was no service, i wasnt sure if the bar was closed so i waited, there would have been at least 4 staff walk by and not one acknowledged that i was there. There were other guests in the lobby and by the pool having a drink but no one was able to serve me. So i went back to my room to make a coffee and it was then i found empty coke bottles pushed to the back of the cupboard, the only reason i saw them was i had to get the kettle out.
I will stay again x

Whilst the bed is really comfy there was a light flickering in the room, the shower had zero water pressure and was either scolding hot or freezing cold, the shaving mirror did not work.
Now as for paying $30 for breakfast DONT, you’re better off going to McDonalds. The bacon is cheap and so over cooked, mushrooms are cold, hash browns are burnt and hard, tomatoes old and over cooked. At this point I could go on but I think you get the gist of what I’m saying.
When I told the staff member how bad the food was she said “Ok” and walked off, showed no care at all which is a bad reflection on this hotel.
With better management and a good chef this could be a great hotel however currently your better off staying elsewhere, just another example of poor Sydney hospitality and crap hotels.

The hotel room was quiet and clean, and the atmosphere inside the hotel was pleasant. However, there were a few notable disadvantages. Firstly, the bathroom lacked a stable handle shower, making it inconvenient for washing. Additionally, each room had only one box of tissues, and it was never replenished. One of the most significant issues was that I had booked a queen-size bed room, but in reality, it consisted of two double-size mattresses pushed together. This resulted in an uncomfortable gap between the beds when my partner and I were in bed at night, which was quite unpleasant. I urge you to address this matter by replacing the two double mattresses with a single queen mattress. Overall, my experience at the hotel was average compared to similar establishments.

Dear soheild44, I appreciate you taking the time to provide your valuable feedback & please accept my apologies for any shortcomings in service during your recent stay. I have shared your comments with the team, to ensure we do better. In regards to the mattresses, we recently (June23) replaced the entire hotel with new EVT dream beds which does include a split king option & on this occasion this was the bed you had. We do hope you choose to stay with us again so we can show you a greater guest experience. Kind Regards, Shawn

We arrived having paid for pool view and waiting till after 2 for our room we were greeted by rubbish bins as view . They did offer 20 percent off food which would have been ok but on the second day we weee then told due to staffing no food at all no breakfast lunch or dinner bar closed. In fact nothing you take family away for a holiday not a hotel room. I understand Covid but no management we had booked dinner and no one even thought to tell us it was cancelled. So many things they could have done like told rooms free mini bar or at breakfast put out bread and fruit. Instead a lot of unhappy families.

I stayed for one night , the room was good with a comfortable bed . The room wall design was different , with high ceilings , I liked it . Few days after the checkout I noted charges in my bank statement and on calling got to know that they charged for full room bar usage charges and on raising a concern they did sort it out . So just a word of caution , otherwise nothing wrong .

Awesome place to stay, we had a wedding nearby and decided to make a weekend of it. Had to park in a disabled parking getting back from the wedding which is a big no no from me, cos parking was full. No service to rooms due to labour day long weekend, but we're easy going people and didn't bother us too much, what we paid to stay however did sort of disappoint, to not get the service. Breakfast is way too expensive for what you get, surcharges and all, will be getting breakfast elsewhere. Irrespective of this, we have chosen to spend 2 more nights end of October with our two boys who could make use of the pool. We love the stay and will find other amenities to suit OUR needs. Thanks again Atura, see you soon.

Dear Flyer22397239496, Thanks so much for your feedback, I’m pleased to read that overall you enjoyed your stay & that you’ll be back in a few weeks with your boys. If your able to provide the booking name, I’ll be able to match this to your booking to ensure you have a great stay. Unfortunately I am unable to do this due to your above TripAdvisor name. Car parking @ times the hotel does run very short/low on car spot, but we do have plenty of off street parking for our guests to use, over the weekend the hotel was full & unfortunately we did run out of standard parking spots. Housekeeping services, during the public holidays we do reduce our housekeeping services, but we do have these services available upon request & I do apologies if this was not communicated with you in more detail when you were checking in. Breakfast, I’m sorry to read that you thought breakfast wasn’t value for money & I have passed this on to the kitchen and F&B team to ensure we are providing a enjoyable breakfast experience. Again, thank you for your feedback & we will work towards rectifying your concerns. Kind regards, Shawn

Two single beds pushed together is not a king bed... it may be fine for a couple who don’t like each other…. but it’s very uncomfortable for anyone else.
What’s worse is I asked specifically about this before booking and they said they had twin rooms and rooms with real king beds, when we checked in we were given a room with 2 singles pushed together, and when went to reception to ask them about this I was told first told all the rooms are the same. The breakfast was very good

Dear IrishMark85, A very sincere thank you to you for taking the time to provide your valuable customer feedback of your recent stay with us. Both myself and our team here at Atura Blacktown certainly pride ourselves on service excellence, and it is apparent, albeit very regretful, that on this occasion there has certainly been a shortfall in our standards of service extended to you. For this Mark, I offer you no excuses, only my heartfelt apology for the indeed distress, and discomfort, endured during your time with us. The hotel currently only has 3 full king mattresses & the remaining 119 rooms are made up of spilt king beds, unfortunately due to the hotel being hyper-constrained during your stay, these rooms had already been allocated & for this I do apologise. Apologies once again & thank you for your time. Shawn.

Mainly around the restaurant … felt extremely rushed to order , eat and get out of restaurant and it would have only been 6:30pm … Lady clearing tables just grabbed empty glasses never asked if anything else wanted .. meal wasn’t the greatest, had beef cheeks with red wine jus … no red wine jus instead gravy and shrugged shoulders when I questioned, more cold mash than anything else on the plate and very little beef cheek … but no one seemed to care ! You would think they would take advantage of nothing else to close to venue except the ordinary pub next door … as I was leaving restaurant Uber eats were delivering kfc and I wished I had have down that !! Will certainly be looking for other places to stay nearby moving forward

Hi Sara J, They don't specifically have a dedicated room service team so they dont deliver to your room however there is a copy of the menu in the room which you can call down to their Reception team to place an order and when the Chef is almost finished cooking your food, Reception will call you back and advise it's almost ready and to come down to the hostess at the Restaurant and your meal will be ready to take away on a room service tray. it really isn't an issue collecting it from the restaurant and the quality is maintained. Than you can go back to the room and kick back and watch a free movie.
