The fabulous and friendly staff at Adventure Inn are just one of the reasons we’ve stayed here for years before heading off to the OSA peninsula. We have been blessed over the years with so many wonderful ex-pats who stay with us if they have an early flight out of Costa Rica or a later flight back into Costa Rica, taking advantage of our free airport shuttles. On any given night probably a quarter of all guests are ex-pats, ideal for tourists to strike up a conversation with, thank you Sally for your years of support.

Not a good impression at all, when you start your vacation.... Categorized according at 2.5 max 3* Cleanliness leaving something to be desired Bedroom with bug in the bed blocked toilet Inedible chicken sandwiches when we arrived (wet because preparing and put in a saran wrap for a long time, neither hot nor cold)

Thank you for your comments, we are far from perfect, and are always looking for ways to improve. I already addressed most of your concerns when you left your comments at check-out. We are a very clean hotel as you can tell by the sounds of our maids moving furniture every day to get all corners of the room. To find a bug in your room in Costa Rica isn't unusual, seeing as this was once a rain forest. We fumigate the hotel six times a year as recommended, but often the poor little critters come out of the cracks to die. I am sorry your toilet was blocked, that happens in six star hotels as well. We offered you chicken or veggie wraps as a kind gesture because you were going to arrive after our restaurant closes at 10 pm and we didn't want you to go the bed hungry, that came back to bite. We resolved the problem of their moisture after you mentioned it, and I agreed, by putting them on the grill to make them a bit crispy, so thank you for that. No mention of the free airport transfers, no mention of the friendly, helpful staff, or the pool or the exotic fruit buffet and hot served breakfast, or the free international phone calls, or the pleasant Costa Rican atmosphere, that's fine, each to their own, I do hope you find your perfect hotel at the same price, everyone deserves to be happy on vacation.

This hotel was a wonderful place to start another Costa Rican adventure! The price was very reasonable and included free airport transfer, breakfast, and a clean room in a typical Costa Rican style. All staff was very friendly and breakfast was delicious. My favorite part of Adventure Inn was that our rental car was delivered to us at the hotel!

My family had a great time staying here, the staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly. The rooms themselves were spacious and clean and the pool space is fairly quiet and relaxing. The breakfast usually features some uncommon fruit types that you should be sure to try. The location is also a short walking distance to a grocery store and very good Indian restaurant.

Thank you for you wonderful comments. We love families with laughing kids enjoying the pool, and eating in the restaurant, as they make the whole hotel feel wholesome and well-rounded. I am so proud of my staff the way they seem to understand what our guests need and bend over backwards to make it happen. There is only one reason why you go back to the same hotel over and over again. It meets your needs. The adventure Inn does that and more. It is a soft landing and with the flights today, we all need that. In FOURTEEN years they have never let me down - except for that one time when the over easy egg was a little too cooked, Eric took it upon himself to go to the restaurant every morning for an over easy egg until he satisfied himself that the new cook was doing it right. Now that is dedication to customer satisfaction! Seriously, Folks, once your airplane hits the runway, they have you in their arms and they take care of you. Over the years my planes have sat down at ridiculous hours, There has always been a ride waiting and Jose to open the door and get my luggage to the room. And yes you do get to know the staff by first names because, after all, you are treated like family.…

We came to stay at the adventure inn on the recommendation of a friend. We are happy to pass that recommendation onto you. :-) it is a hidden gem in San Jose. The staff were fantastic, helpful and knowledgeable about the area and the adventures they have available. We signed up for the horseback riding, zip lining, river rafting, and the 8 in 1 tour. All were top notch. My limited Spanish was supplemented by the staffs excellent English. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, the wall paintings were well done and unexpected delight! They have a free airport shuttle that was comfortable and on time as well as an included hot breakfast with an ample variety of fruit. The on-site restaurant was reasonably priced and served excellent dinner choices. If I could convey to you in one sentence how much we enjoyed our stay and the activities offered at the adventure inn the following would be it. I rebooked our Air Canada flight to turn a one night stay into a 6 night stay. I would suggest booking directly with the Adventure Inn so you can receive any updates directly and they are exceptional in communicating with their guests. The staff bent over backwards to ensure we were comfortable. From check in with the staff helping us to our room, to leaving at 4 am staff making sure we had a breakfast snack, we were pampered. Rooms are large and very comfortable

We stayed there on our way out of Costa Rica and would do so again for an overnight. There was good communication and staff was very helpful in answering any questions. The room was okay. Coffee maker in the room. The pool was small but served it's purpose. The bartender was very good. We had dinner and the service was good. Close to the airport so you don't get stuck in traffic coming in from San Jose. The taxi service is a bonus. There is a higher end shopping plaza with a supermarket, wine bar, cafe and juice bar a few blocks down A few blocks further is a large Costa Rican shop for any last minute gift.

My wife & I spent 5 weeks in the country and stayed at Adventure Inn, San Jose on the first and last night of our journey. We are more than pleased with the quality of service and amenities we received at this establishment. Excellent communication to book , reserve and get data....the free taxi pickup and drop off at the airport was a nice bonus as well as well maintained Rooms for the pricing we paid. Also the breakfast included feature was appreciated to, decent food and ambience throughout the Inn. For a "Tico " hotel it is now our #1 entry & exit point for future trips to this wonderful country. Many thanks to Eric and his staff for meeting & exceeding ours needs on this trip.

Every single time anyone in my family visits Costa Rica, which is at least twice a year, we stay at Adventure Inn. It is the first place we stay when we arrive...and it is the last place we stay before leaving. No matter the cost, it is our number one choice! The restaurant serves delicious food! The rooms are clean, comfortable, and inviting. And the staff are absolutely amazing! Everyone is so welcoming and they can take care of your every need. Although everything is wonderful here, there is one thing, or rather one person, who stands out...Manfred. He is one of a kind! He brightens the entire place! He remembers our names no matter how long it's been, and is so sweet, friendly, and inviting. My husband says that he only wishes for one thing...should anyone ever leave their job here, they must be replaced by at least 2 Manfreds! Thank you for everything! Always! I have an amazing staff who actually seem to enjoy their work, and want to improve the hotel and offer services to our guests that go beyond their call of duty, and yes, Manfred is one of those who enthusiastically enjoys bantering with guests. He has worked with me for some twenty two years in two consecutive hotels I have owned, and so many people enjoy his enthusiasm, and he does have a wonderful memory for people names why they are here. I could never replace anyone with two Manfreds as he is a one of a kind.
