Lovely place to stay. Penelope and David are excellent hosts in a delightful rustic setting only 15 mins from Hobart. Breakfast each morning was enough to last the day. Peacocks add an extra dimension. All in all good value for money

Unfortunately we only got to stay at Cleburne Homestead for the one night - we wish we had discovered it earlier and stayed longer From the moment we arrived, we knew this place was special. Our Hosts - Penelope and David were lovely, so friendly and relaxed and they made us feel extremely welcome and comfortable. After we had settled...

I recently booked two nights accommodation at Clebourne Homestead to attend a music concert in Hobart. On a tight budget, I booked the Stable Room, affordable and intriguing. On arrival we were greeted by Penelope who was friendly and welcoming, taking us to this very quaint little room. It has a beautiful feel to it, nice and intimate and the...

This is a historic and unique property run by warm and vivacious hosts Penelope and David. We stayed in the Stables room and were welcome to a warm room with modern bathroom. On arrival, the gates were closed and it would have been useful to have a sign, or to be prenotified on how to open the gates. At the...

Hi. Thank you for this thoughtful review of Cleburne. It’s terrific to know that you found the property, the breakfasts and the conversations enjoyable and it’s instructive to know your concerns. We do sometimes have the entry gates closed to allow the Alpacas to graze freely. We will work harder to have them open when guests are due. We checked...

Loved my stay here - the house is an old homestead (with all the normal quirks and creaks). Was great to stay outside Hobart - good base for trips north of Hobart and very close to MONA. Rooms were warm and cosy - very important given it was freezing outside. Lovely continental breakfast in the Homestead's dining room.

We stayed in the Stables room of Cleburne Homestead for three nights. In a nutshell, we are so glad that we picked this place. From the welcoming of David and Penelope when we arrived late (delays with the plane) through to the rooms, breakfast, location and surrounds, we just cannot fault anything. On arrival, our room had the heater on...

Brigitte, this is a wonderful review. Thank you so much for taking the time to write so comprehensively. You did arrive at Cleburne Homestead during a particularly cold spell, so I am glad that you were warm and comfortable. We stayed at Cleburne Homestead for two nights and wish we could have stayed longer! The property is located 5 minutes drive from the entertainment centre and MONA and 10 minutes drive from the city. My husband and I stayed at...

Jenna and Asa, this is a beautiful review! Thank you. We are delighted that you had such a good time at Cleburne Homestead. It was lovely to meet you and your son Jasper. Firstly our hosts were total characters and very welcoming. Interesting heritage homestead , our room lacked nothing and warm for this time of year. Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at Cleburne Homestead. We're glad you found the Barn Suite comfortable and that you enjoyed the breakfasts. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting you both.
