First time at Hovde Gard - but not the last! This time business - next time pleasure (hopefully) and a little more relaxed. Anyway - it was a true pleasure to stay at Hovde. This renewed hotel from the beginning of the 20th century has a great atmosphere and the breakfast gave me the start of the day that I...

Early breakfast, serving yourself in the kitchen-like buffe, getting all the assistance you need - if you need or serve yourself with bacon, fry your own eggs. Sunny side up, over easy or any style you like. Good selection of salmon, hering or just cereals of your taste. This is not overwhelming, but cosy and comfortable. Bedrooms meet any standard...

We spent a weekend at Hovde Gård to relax, eat well and go for long walks on the beach. The houses were beautiful as expected, the personel nice and helpful but the rest was quite a disappointment. The food was fat and salty and the pizza was like a focaccia with tomatosauce. There were no walking paths in the area,...

Arriving at this former school converted to a hotel, I was quite impressed with what I saw and learned. The main building houses the restaurant, a top floor bar and some rooms while the former barn houses a restaurant, wine cellar and some rooms. I realised a lot of money has gone into the refurbishment and it all seems well...

My second stay, once again as a part of a business conference. And usually, I have to stay at boring, clinically, soulless chain hotels. (I try not to stay in chain hotels when I have holiday...) The atmospehere is rustic, while the rooms are modern at the same time. SOme of the buildings are spread out, my bnedroom had an...

For renovation work costing 35 million Norwegian kroner [€4M] you would expect something special. Gård in norwegian means farm, Hovde Gård is anything but, and it is special, from the main house dating from 1923 to the barn conversion completed in 2014, little has been spared. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was tastefully decorated and was...

Stayed here for work strategy meetings. The meals served very very good. The main building as well as the rooms were great. Excellent sleep quality. The restaurant was very cozy and served food as well as drinks in the bar. I would recommend a visit here to anyone.

Stayed two nights whilst on a tour, part of a large group and simply one of the best hotels I have used ever. Nice single room, with a good sized bed (not always found in Norway). The lack of a phone may strike some as odd, here it was an advantage. Lovely looking buildings. The dining room cum lounge and...

Stayed at this hotel for two nights late January 2013. I had a single room in one of the adjacent buildings called the "annex". The room where not very big, but modern and delicate. Staff seemed welcoming and professional, and the kitchen served very good food in the barn. All in all a nice stay in a very nice hotel.
