Very nice location but the hotel definitely needs a good renovation. The facilities are old but the staff is very friendly. The breakfast was not bad and the coffee was ok, it is a little bit crowded because of the location but generally it is quite
I stayed 2 weeks in Sitia and I went near to 5 times at the rooftop of this hotel because the place is so cool. The view on Sitia, the seats, the bar, the swimming pool and the staff are perfect. The cocktails are so good. Special mention to Zoe who’s working in the bar, she was very kind and fun.
Stayed there after arriving from the ferry from Rhodes. The ferry port is very close by so it was very convenient. The location of the hotel is great, we just had to circle the block a couple of times to find parking as it was Friday night. The room is exactly what we expected for that kind of price, it was clean, had good views (definitely upgrade to a front room) and the aircon worked well. We didn't try the pool area so can't comment on that. We wanted to eat in their restaurant just accross the road but the staff had a bit of an attitude so we left before ordering.
Excellent value for money. Booked at short notice over the internet using trip advisor reviews as a guide. Very pleased. Fantastic view over the harbour from our balcony. Everything was very clean and comfortable. Able to park outside. All staff were very helpful and friendly. Made us feel welcome. Close to the centre of town and short walking distance to superb restaurants, shops and bars. Also visited their restaurant and bar across the road. Staff gave us good tips on where to go. Lots of other amazing places if you have a car. The name inspired us to visit to ancient town of Itanos which gave us a fabulous day out. Thanks to all for this memorable holiday experience.
The owner MIchalis is great guy, always helpful, very communicative and open...mom-lovely old lady...there is a nice port view from the hotel windows...the food-very tasty (guests have some bonuses)...Barbara/Poland
We stayed in the Itanos Hotel during August and then again in September 2020. Perfect for our trip to Sitia with its rooftop bar and pool overlooking the town and beach areas. Thank you to Michalis and Costis for making us so welcome.
The pool and roof terrace saves this from a one. I’m happy staying in basic accommodation but the room was tired and dated, crammed with too much furniture for any feeling of comfort. The pool was a nice touch and while the bar wasn’t open on the roof you could sit there. Useful as the water and heat emitted from the air conditioning unit on our balcony made it impossible to use to sit on. There were no track and trace elements done for COVID purposes and the wearing of face masks seemed haphazard from the staff. They also didn’t seem to care if guests did or didn’t wear them - with one guest allowed unmasked to help herself to the breakfast buffet with a staff member assisting. Unacceptable during this current time. Staff were friendly and it was clean, however there are most probably better places to stay. (We were placed by a travel agent and will be complaining).…
First of all we tried to contact the property to ask the availability for one night. The concierge replied but after our confirmation he did not send the formal confirmation. We have to underline that we travelled under the covid-19 and the property has not able to provide all the security measures required by law (no temperature control, no form fil, nothing was igenized in our room or in the common spaces); in addition they didn't make the registration, so nobody known that we were staying in the hotel. The room was terrible: umidity smell, the bedshits, seem like cardboard, were dirty (I am not sure but I suppose was blood); the "bathroom" (2mt×2mt, it was not possible to open the door because it hurts on the WC) was dirty and unpracticable with no soap inside the dispensers, the old and ripped towels were very dirty (the color was embarrassing, close to yellow). To be honest the only positive element was the position, located in the centre of the town close to the seawalk. We paid 42euro for one night without breakfast and considering all the negative elements I think that it was a snatch. I hope that the igenic authority will make a control, because in that condition this hotel has to be closed.…
Very, very friendly staff, an expression of filoxenia, room actually ok, hadd all the 4ight things in place. Visitors have to check out the rooftop bar! Have stayed there for a wrek and this year will stay at Itanos again.
Itanos is an older hotel, located close the waterfront in a trafficated area, which gives some noise. So does the nearby playground for children. Children and adults use the playground till late, read very late, something after midnight, and they can be very loud. So get a room high, and not to the side of the playground. Rooms a quite small, clean but in need of some refurbishment. Rooftop pool area is cramped with few sunbeds. Nearby beach is highly recommended, with "free" sunbeds, provided by bars and restaurants, where it is expected, that you buy your drinks during your stay on the sunbed. All in all a good system.
