We went on a couples trip and booked the hilltop villa. The place was so spacious with lots of sofas and day beds it could probably fit 3 times more people than the beds in the room. It had its own pool which was safe enough for young children as it is not deep but still just deep enough for adults to swim. The view was amazing!

The villa that we stayed in had 3 floors, 1st floor is the living/dining and pool with its own toilet, 2nd floor had the bedrooms and 3rd floor is the rooftop where you can setup the allocated futons and day beds and soak in the sun or watch the stars at night.

The place is nice but I also want to share some things that may need improvement. The bathtub in our unit was huge and could comfortably sit 4 people. Unfortunately it had multiple cracks and probably need to be replaced/repaired. One of the rooms had some moisture on the floor constantly. We cleaned it up but it comes back. Probably some issue with insulation and water proofing. Mosquitoes do come at night so make sure you close the doors. Despite all these, we had a great stay as all the staff were very friendly and helpful from our main personal concierge who we message anytime we need to get a buggy or ti arrange any spa treatment or restaurant reservation, to the buggy drivers and spa attendants, it was a good experience.

The food at the restaurants were delicious. We went to Warung and the Japanese restaurant which had an amazing design and the staff were kind enough to let us sit and take photos at one of the tables that had tatami mats. The ceiling had amazing paintings that were backlighted like lanterns. Food was good but I would say a lot are fusion Japanese and not purely Japanese but still tasty.

They have a mini mart so you don’t need to go out to shop. Just take note that the prices would be higher than local prices but the quality is there and it will save you the hassle of going out. Overall it was a great experience

Everything was seamless! Booked a 3D2N stay for my husband’s birthday through Klook, we communicated through email for pickup service from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal, and we were already in our room all in less than 30mins.

The room was already decorated for the birthday boy, and to our surprise they sent down a few staff to our room and sang a birthday song with complimentary cake.

Getting around the resort was easy as well, it’s a 24/7 buggy service and communication is through Whatsapp, buggy will be outside your room in 5-10min tops after request.

Food was relatively expensive, but we had no complaints because as foodies we don’t mind paying for something that is really tasty and good. Breakfast buffet was decent as well.

On our 2nd day, we went for a Jetski tour guided by the most kindest instructor Fauzan. We had the best time ever! Fauzan brought us to the most sightful places and really took care of us throughout the journey. We fell in the middle of the sea with very strong current hitting us, but instructor Fauzan was very calm and collective in handling the situation. He really made us feel safe and we are truly grateful for him.

We then went for a massage at Montigo Wellness. You wouldn’t want to miss out on this too, they have a few massage huts along the beach and we greeted by the sound of waves throughout our treatment. Our masseuse was really thorough, I felt really relax. Right after, the staff at Montigo Wellness surprised us with a song and another cake!

Overall, we loved our stay and we loved the people there. I would definitely recommend coming (with the mindset to spend) and relax as City Centre is quite a distance from the resort.

First and foremost, the services and hospitality provided by your team were truly outstanding. The staff were genuinely attentive to our needs, frequently checking in to ensure everything was in order. It’s this exceptional level of care that keeps us coming back, making this our fourth visit to Montigo Resort.

While we greatly enjoyed the stay, there are a few concerns I’d like to highlight:

1. Renovation Disturbance

During our stay, the villa beside ours was undergoing renovation. While we understand and appreciate the importance of upgrading facilities, the ongoing construction work disrupted our privacy and comfort. For instance, workers were present in the pool area while we were swimming, and the construction noise persisted during the daytime. I had to inform the reception before the work was paused. Such incidents could be avoided by assigning guests to villas away from renovation areas or scheduling the renovation work outside guest stays.

2. Room Amenities

Pillows: 

While the room was comfortable, I feel the pillows could be improved. Providing guests with options for different pillow types would enhance the overall experience.

TV Functionality: 

The TV in our villa was not operating properly, and we had to request housekeeping to change the device.

Despite these concerns, our stay was fabulous, thanks to the excellent service provided by your team. The housekeeping staff went over and beyond to search and retrieve our float from the cliff of our villa. We greatly appreciated the effort from the staff.

Montigo Resort has become an annual family tradition for us, and we look forward to seeing even better enhancements during our next visit.

Thank you for continuously striving to provide a wonderful guest experience. I trust that these points will be taken into consideration for future improvements.

Pros:
- Large villa with 3 en-suite bedrooms, living room (with dining table and refrigerator), outdoor barbeque area and private pool (with cabana (not sheltered))
- Comfortable beds and pillows in the bedrooms
- Good water pressure in the bathrooms
- Water dispenser included in the living room
- Good variety of activities available in the resort
- Decent food choices at the buffet breakfast venue

Cons:
- Very poorly maintained villa. Cleanliness standard was probably equivalent to that of a 2-star resort - all three toilets in the 3-bedroom villa had a strong sewage smell, master bedroom and pool area had two cockroaches, pool water was dirty
- Air-conditioner was leaking in one of the bedrooms and could not be fixed by the technicians
- Lots of mosquitos in the villa complex
- Slow service - booked a barbeque in the villa (for DIY cooking) and the food was only delivered about 1 hour after the initial booking time
- Kitchenette area only has a sink and utensils, and does not include a stove
- Beach club in the resort is under renovation
- Resort is located at a more secluded area in Batam and it takes about 35-45 minutes to get to the Batam city centre via taxi/private hire cars

Concerning to cleanliness of your residence villa, the housekeeping team implements the operational standards of cleaning the villas twice a day which includes the swimming pool. Our housekeepers are also on standby around the clock to attend to our guests for any requests. All areas of the resort and villas are fumigated on a daily basis to prioritize the comfort and well-being of your guests. With your feedback, we will continue to work on improving our services and the guest experience. I deeply apologize for the inconveniences caused. All information of the resort renovations, villa facilities and policies are listed on our webpage and platforms of Online Travel Agents (OTA). The natural atmosphere of our villa residence gives a ‘close to nature feeling’, it is constant learning curve for us to learn on managing the balance between providing high standards while preserving nature. The staff at the resort were extremely friendly and helpful. Although English is not their first language, they made every effort to understand us and meet our needs, which we truly appreciated.

However, there is room for improvement in the food and massage services. Both could benefit from some attention to quality and variety.

Additionally, the villa's furniture, towels, and sofa covers could be cleaner or replaced, as they appeared a bit worn and outdated.

One important note: the villas are spread over three stories with many steps, which may not be suitable for elderly guests or those with mobility issues. However, there are villas with entrances that lead directly to the living room and offer a little extra space in the living area, as well as some villas where the entrance leads directly to the bedrooms. These villas can be more accessible for elderly guests, but they may not be able to enjoy the upper levels of the villa due to the stairs.

The location is about 30 to 40 minutes from the town or any other good restaurants, so be prepared for a bit of a drive if you're looking to explore the area for food or activities. The villa is located near the beach, with plenty of paid beach activities available through the resort. However, other than that, the resort is tucked away from civilization.

If you're looking for a quiet beach vacation, it’s a perfect place to relax and unwind. But if you're after food, shopping, or a more vibrant atmosphere, this may not be the best choice for you.

Overall, the resort offers a welcoming atmosphere, but there are some areas that could be enhanced for a more comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Billed as a luxury resort montigo had a lot going for them. Villa with lap pool, close to Singapore with the luxury feel. Sadly a couple of things detracted from the experience. 1) the villa we stayed in leaked water when it rained, and it wasn't a small leak but enough to fill the whole corridor. 2) room service was delivered in takeaway, disposable containers. For the price they charge, I would expect better 3) the jetty, the main pool and the children's playground were all under repair which means a good part of the facilities are not available for the family. Overall, disappointing experience for the price we paid.

Went my first time here on October 2024 took the one bedroom villa the service, stay and facilities was fantastic. But when I came again on January 2025 it was not great this time took the 2 bedroom villa, the tv was too small for the huge living room space, not a smart tv compared to the one bedroom villa. The pool pressure pump was off and on and the engineering said it was ok but it clearly was not, the water was also chalky and dirty. The buggy was too slow and they do not know who they are picking up and was just all over and not arranged well. Had to took any buggy that we saw that went past us. The bathtub was producing yellow dirty water instead. The whole unit water pressure was so slow and little water. The bidet in the toilet was also broken and when they fix it the water was still coming so little. When the room was asked to be made, they did not give any new linens and just hang back all the old ones when some of it was kept on the floor so that it could be changed but yet it just hang back the same thing even though it was so stained.
During the spa visit we were asked if we wanted to be charged by IDR or SGD and instead got charged by USD. The masseuse was not great either, even when told to do harder for pressure it was so light and unwilling when they massage.
When going into the gift shop near the reception, the ladies in there said she do not know how to operate the credit card machine and had to wait for the person in charge to come back and waited for 15 mins and no one came to help us. The ladies who was standing there was helpless and they did not know what was happening and did not get anyone to assist us.
When checking out no buggy came as they were all checking in the new guests instead and no one cared when we were leaving. It looked like they just cared more when the new guests are coming in and when leaving their service was not great.

We recently spent a weekend at Montigo Batam with a group of friends and had a generally good experience. The check-in was seamless, thanks to the excellent service from Ms. Felli and Mr. Andre. One of our group members had knee issues, and they kindly arranged a villa with easier access via steps, which we greatly appreciated. Special thanks to Ms. Felli for her attentiveness!

On the downside, the food was average and quite overpriced for what was offered. For a beach resort, we were disappointed to find that the beach was not ideal for swimming. We were informed that it’s a rocky beach and considered unsafe for swimming, which was a letdown given the resort's beachfront location.

Despite this, the resort’s service and accommodations were solid, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing

I & my wife went to Montigo for a short getaway/staycation last week. The moment we reached there we're amazed by the size of the resort, it's huge.

It doesn't feel like we were in Batam, it's like in a relaxing but also happening tropical village. They've got interesting buggy transportation system to bring you around, when you need it you can just WA them (their free Wifi system that covers the whole resort is a very good idea). Surprisingly the waiting time isn't so long. The natural scene & the resort built up really blend well beautifully, from the huge resort room with the personal pool, the beach area, jetty, pool bar, restaurants, the greeneries, and also their unique spa Village, all are very beautiful.

All the staffs were very friendly & helpful, all the way from the GM, managers, buggy & restaurant crew, even the room cleaners, we could feel their warm sincerity.

There are many activities offered there, beside swimming pool, they've got some water sports, Karaoke, Billiard, ATV, Archery, Paint Gun. It's all about fun

The wide spread breakfast buffet came with interesting live stations.We love the traditional food there. Try their oxtail soup & their refreshing young coconut from TADD's Restaurant, they are good.

When visiting the Lobby Lounge at Montigo Resort, I had an extraordinary experience thanks to the friendly and professional service from the staff named Arvinty. Arvinty showed great hospitality and attention from the moment I arrived. He skillfully helped me choose drinks and food that suited my tastes, and provided very accurate recommendations.

The atmosphere in the Lounge is very comfortable and elegant, making me feel relaxed and impressed. Arvinty ensured that all my needs were met without leaving anything unturned. His smile and friendly attitude made the atmosphere even more pleasant. Thank you to Arvinty and the team at Montigo Resort for this unforgettable experience. I will definitely come back again and recommend this place to friends and family.

We went their half February and the playground, the gym and many villa’s were under construction. I don’t think it will be open soon, but you can better email them. The kids pool is however open, as many other things you can do with your family.
