Lovey hotel, with good location, just at the beachfront. We were there for 10 days and we really had a nice stay, except some minor issues.
Hotel staff, especially reception and restaurant employees are extremely friendly and outgoing, they really made us feel welcome and were available for any kind of request, question etc.
As we were told, the hotel is no longer operated by Iberostar chain, it's now privately held, we had the opportunity of meeting the owner, who was very friendly and kind to us, especially in situations where we had issues regarding our stay.

The biggest problem was the housekeeping, even though the rooms are spacious and modern, cleanliness was terrible! Our room was never cleaned, floors were never swept, bathroom neither...the only thing housekeeping was doing, was changing towels and taking out the trash. Bedsheets were only changed after we asked for it.
If you arrive by car, parking will be an issue, since the parking spaces are limited. Beach is really nice, with great sunbeds, included in the price for hotel guests. Problem here is that outside guests can also use the space by paying extra and the guy who watches over the beach, doesn't prioritize hotel guests so a lot of sunbeds are taken up by outside people and we have seen many hotel guest that have been left without a space at the beach because of this. Beach bar is ok, barman was nice but the coffee is terrible.

Restaurant was nice with a cute garden, but it was visible that it's lacking maintenance and cleanliness. Even though the staff was super friendly, tables, plates and cutlery were often not properly cleaned. Food is ok, but could be much better quality wise. Breakfast was the same everyday, with no variations. For dinner the would switch it up a little bit, but the meal selection was still not that good. Pastries and desserts were awful.
Overall experience was good, if we were ever to come back, we would because of the nice beach and wonderful staff and owner.

After many sleepless nights before this holiday, I was thinking I had made a terrible mistake from reading the other reviews, but I had not! It was a great holiday.

The hotel is as described, clean, good sound proofing and good facilities which are close to the main hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful especially if you are nice and smile at them and were happy to help with anything. This included fixing any issues with the room or help to find places or excursions. The hotel has a green policy but there is no problem changing towels or bedding if you ask.

The hotel trip to Dubrovnik is highly recommended, it includes transfer, guided tour, 3 course meal and free time. As the hotel has mainly french tourists, we had our own English tour guide. We took a bus to Herceg Novi 1 euro each and also Kotor, both easy and cheap.

The beach is lovely and although it has small stones, a pair of sea shoes or flip flops is all you need. There is also a nice cool breeze which doesn't whip up any dust or sand storms which is nice. The beach and pool are very clean and well looked after and that goes for the country as a whole.

Useful things to know, Beach towels are 20 euro deposit each and you need to pay a tax of about 14 euro a person for a week. There is also a cash machine in reception.

If you want to be entertained or served this is not the hotel for you. This is a hotel for people who like to entertain themselves and don't mind getting their own drinks, whilst enjoying a great view in a relaxed environment.

Just back from our week at Hotel Delfin.

Having read recent reviews I was a little put off and wondered if we had made a poor decision picking this hotel for our first family holiday abroad with our daughter (2.5 years old) however after arriving you soon realise that the other reviews are just rubbish and the usual moaning people.

The staff are all lovely and super friendly. They have all made a huge fuss over our little girl and she has enjoyed soaking up the attention. She took a real shine to Zana in the restaurant. Who she was ever so sad to say goodbye to and was even given a gift on our final breakfast. Thank you Zana for just being truly lovely.

Room was spotless and cleaned multiple times throughout the week with fresh towels etc.

Breakfast starts at 7am which is helpful for anyone like us travelling with young children who still like to get up at the crack of dawn.

The selection for children on the buffet is a little limited but that being said our little girl is very awkward with her food. So I was expecting us to have some challenges with this regardless.

As for choice for us all food has been lovely. Very pork orientated but that wasn’t a problem. The selection of pastries in a morning are delicious.

Pool area is lovely and clean the water however is very cold but you soon get used to it and is refreshing in the heat. Our little girl loved the beach as would any child she was very happy with her bucket and spade. If you haven’t got swim shoes I would recommend them if you want to use the beach as we did find a small piece of glass in the shingle near our loungers.

The area is lovely and peaceful and just what is needed for a relaxing break and I would recommend to those looking for that from their holiday. Car hire can be arranged by the hotel and the car is brought to the hotel for you and is very cheap. There are boat trips and other excursions available also so you can explore if that is something you would like to do. Options for all.

Thank you for a lovely stay! The Smiths

We stayed at the Carine Delfin mid September. We paid extra for a Seaview room which was on the front of the hotel. The room was very nice, with the best shower we have have ever had in a hotel, a safe, & small balcony with table and chairs.
Location, the hotel is in Bijela, it is situated on a very quite coast road and there are a few shops and small supermarkets 10 minutes walk away. The main road is a short distance behind the hotel, where you can catch a bus to virtually anywhere.
The hotel is a 4 star and is exceptionally clean, the reception staff were helpful and spoke good English. The waiters were also really efficient in clearing away plates and very friendly. The layout of the hotel is nice with an indoor and outdoor pool, again very clean areas and plenty of sun beds free at any time of the day.
The hotel is completely all inclusive, the only items we had to pay for were branded drinks (we didn't bother) and lattes and even then the coffee was 1 euro so not problem to have to pay a little extra.
There was plenty of sitting areas both inside and outside so again you never felt crowded and I have to say having stayed at a 5 star in Greece this hotel was better.
The food is all inclusive, the dining room did get full in the evenings, however we chose to sit outside and eat most of the time.
Drinks were self service either red / white/ rose wine (it was ok), lager (fine) or soft drinks (no lemonade which was a shame) but plenty of choice. You could also have spirits and cocktails made by the barman. There was also self service tea and coffee available which again was all good.
The food - plentiful salad which was always fresh and plenty of cheeses, cold meats , dressings etc. The hot food was ok, they always had soup, a local dish, vegetarian dishes, lots of meat dishes, usually fish, plus there was a chef available to cook meat or fish from fresh if you wished. The desserts were mainly small cake types and occasional mousse type desserts, plus ice cream and fresh fruit. If you wanted gourmet food this wouldn't be the place but we ate here most nights and went out for lunch. Breakfast had plenty of choice, salad, pastries, yoghurt, pancakes and cooked breakfasts, lunch same and there were snacks of sandwiches and pastries available in between.
This hotel mainly caters for French guests, the entertainment was in French, but there was karaoke and musicians and by 11 all was quiet.
We had a lovely holiday and would definitely recommend the hotel

We’re very disappointed in this holiday. We booked it through Jet2 which we’ve used for our past three major holidays and this is not a four star hotel. Unfinished work in the rooms, noisy rooms but the setting is ideal.

However, we cannot get passed how absolutely awful the food is. I don’t know where those other reviewers have eaten.

All hot food is cold and recycled At lunch and dinner. The breakfast (unless you live on croissants) is mildly unpleasant.

We did mention this to the Jet 2 representative and he highlighted it to the hotel. The hotel then gave us a stock answer letter - ‘you can re heat your food in the microwave’ Not so great. See attached in case you get the same response.

Scenery great. Pool nice. Don’t go all
Inclusive. Keep it to breakfast as they really do the food on the cheap side of quality and freshness. The pizza has definitely been rolled over for three days in a row now.

Super disappointing and a complete waste of money. We’re eating out now.

The coffee cups are so small it’s hardly worth getting one coffee get two at a time. Although don’t get excited. It’s more like tarmac and milk than actually coffee.

We stayed for a week 8-15 October, despite negative reviews we found food to be very good. Delicious made to order omelettes every morning and a large selection of hot meats/vegetables or salads and fresh bread for lunch and dinner.

Red and Rose wine was very quaffable and also had several gin and tonics which definitely contained alcohol. My partner preferred the beer from the outside terrace as despite being on draught inside and outside the hotel, he felt it fresher from the outside bar.

We got bus to Herci Nova and did a day trip to Dubrovnik, plus half day trips to Kotor and Pesat so we felt there was plenty to do, however I agree this isn’t the hotel to go to maybe with teenagers as more geared to couples.

Location is quiet but I suspect would be much busier earlier on in season and there were still a couple of nice restaurants within a very short stroll from the hotel lobby.

We loved the week we spent here and I would advise upgrading to a sea view room and taking your own little kettle and tea/coffee/milk, fridge in room was great for buying a few beers from supermarket and enjoying whilst drinking in the view both daytime and night…

Rooms.....Decent rooms with the basics required. Before you go make sure your room has a balcony if it shows it in the images as we found our room looked nothing like it was advertised and thankfully managed to swap with a much better room with sea view and balcony. Beds are comfy, rooms clean and the shower works well. Air con seems to be set at 26 which wasn't too bad to be honest.

Food and drink...... Food wasn't great in our opinion and would definitely not recommend all inclusive as youll spend your time eating out more due to the repetition of veal and mashed potatoe. Missed opportunity to have more local dishes and international cuisine. The beer on tap was fine though and they did have wine and juices on tap for you to use although the tiny glasses were super annoying which just meant you used 2 or 3 glasses instead of 1. Externally they had bars too. But these tended to unfortunately be buzzing with wasps and bees making it a no go zone if you feared getting stung)

Staff were all friendly and hard working. With most having a decent grasp of speaking English, as well as French and German.

Location is set right on the coastline. It's a great location, with the clear Adriatic sea and amazing mountains in the backdrop. The pool externally does need a bit of tlc. There was a broken filter guard at the bottom of the pool where you can slice your feet on (I did) and an area that needed a rail as children could easily fall over the edge falling 4/5ft onto solid concrete.

Bijela itself doesn't offer anything for tourists though. It's one of those places which has such potential as being heavenly but needs investment and a bit of thought. (Look to Perast and not Budva)

Car hire at the hotel was worth the 40 euro a day fee. Decent well maintained clean cars, just take note Montenegro is quite busy in the summer months so traffic is painstakingly slow with journeys that are about 20 mins taking more than 2 hours. Travel super early to get parking and make progress.. or hire a scooter if you haven't brought the sprogs with you 😁 take cash with you too, for tolls and parking (you pay to park everywhere!)

We travelled to this hotel for a week with Jet2 and were extremely disappointed with what we experienced within the week. This hotel is nowhere near a 4* hotel. All the restaurant staff are extremely strict and quick to tell you of about anything. I was told of for filling up my water bottle using their water taps. I then ended up filling up 2 glasses (which is apparently okay) and transferring them into my water bottle which would have caused them a lot more washing up and makes no sense to me. Whilst I am on the topic of washing up, it is clear that this hotel uses a dishwasher only and doesn't check whether any tuppleware is clean as every day I struggled to find a clean plate for breakfast lunch or dinner.

We arrived to the hotel around 10pm after delays and a long time at the border and unfortunately there was no food available, not even crisps and no open restaurants/shops nearby. We ended up going to bed hungry that night and couldn't believe that this wouldn't have been thought of in advance. The food from the restaurant was bland and all drinks are out of a tap that have wasps and flies flying around the nozzles and making their way up the taps. One lunch, my partner found a maggot in his food. When we raised this with the restaurant staff, we were told that this was 'a part of the chicken' and we were given a very brief 'sorry' from reception and no suitable solution. We ended up eating out for the majority of the rest of or stay as everything about the food served here felt dirty. We also contacted Jet2 about this incident and were told that the holiday rep would get in touch with a furiously solution but they never did which was very disappointing. I am attaching a picture of the maggot so that you can all see that this is definitely not 'part of the chicken'

Our 'sea view' was blocked by a large tree and the safe in our room didn't properly work with the safe locking us out on a daily basis. There was one friendly lady that worked on the reception (I wish I knew her name) and actually helped my partner plan a proposal for me which was very much appreciated but all the other staff members were unfriendly and unapproachable.

The only good thing about this hotel is the beautiful views (which is the reason why we decided on a sea view room but I wouldn't bother incase you're unlucky enough to get our 'sea view').

Overall this hotel is dirty, unhygienic and nowhere near the standard that you would expect from a 4 star hotel. I would also like to mention that the bed sheets are not changed unless you make a point of stripping the bed.

A very disappointing stay and I should advise you to avoid at all costs if possible.

We have just returned from a weeks holiday at Carine Hotel Delfin. Overall we enjoyed the hotel. We had a room in the Annex which was really nice, comfy beds and good bathroom with a side sea view. We travelled with 2 teenagers and the normal bed settee wouldn’t have been big enough for them but the hotel put a large double mattress on top of the bed settee which was adequate for them but in hindsight it would have been better to have booked 2 separate rooms if travelling with older teens.

There were always plenty of sun loungers at the pool and the beach with lovely views across the bay. Although the beaches are man made and stoney/gravelly so beach shoes are needed really.

I agree with some of the previous reviews that the food was OK, but could be improved and the soft drinks and cocktails weren’t the best although I always found something I liked but my fussy teen didn’t always. The staff in the restaurant work really hard though and the tables are constantly being cleared and cleaned.

The WiFi in the hotel was really good which was brilliant as Montenegro isn’t part of the EU so roaming charges would have been very high and travelling with 2 teens it would have worked out very expensive (we took their SIM cards at the airport!).

We did a couple of trips from the hotel which were good, an evening boat trip to Kotor and a morning bus trip to Budva which were both beautiful and definitely worth visiting. We also took the car ferry over to Lepatane (which is free for foot passengers) and then got a taxi to Porto Montenegro which is well worth a visit too with all the super yachts although if you walk to the car ferry it takes about half an hour from the hotel and in the summer it’s a really hot walk!

The hotel is mainly geared up for French guests so lots of the entertainment is in French. There are a few restaurants nearby but we found the evening entertainment a bit boring especially for teenagers.

We were luckily in that the transfer from Dubrovnik airport wasn’t too long, maybe as it was the end of the season but I can imagine it being horrendous in the height of summer. Next year Jet2 are flying directly to Tivat which would make the transfer much shorter and easier.

Montenegro is a beautiful country and the hotel is in a good position for visiting various sites. I’m not sure I would stay here again although everything was perfectly adequate but I think the hotel is more a good 3 star hotel rather than 4 stars.

This hotel is lovely, and in a great location for the views across Boka bay. The hotel itself is clean in all the main areas, with regular cleaning staff around the hotel ensuring the upkeep. The rooms are equally as clean and tidy, and well equipped. Myself and my partner had a sea view suite, which provided a fridge, separate WC, bathroom with WC, large sink area and a walk in shower. We had a our own lounge area with two large sofas and a tv both in the lounge and bedroom (not that we needed them!). Overall the quality of the hotel was fantastic, and the reception staff were super helpful and informative about local transport and places to go, as we prefer to tour locations ourselves than in large tourist groups. That being said, they also provided lots of information on tours that you could go on with TUI/JET 2 etc. The small town the hotel is in, is not very developed, with only a couple of small shops, one large supermarket that has everything in you could need, and there is building work further away from the hotel, but this is not seen or heard from the hotel at all. Overall, it appears there is some renovation work going on throughout the town post covid. The food itself is all you could need for a tip away, and no different to any other A/I we have experienced. There is a wide selection of salads prepared daily, offering of bread rolls, and soup with every meal, daily offering of meat dishes, pasta and pizza. I would agree that the offering for vegetarian guests is limited. We had a lovely stay and it is a great place to stay both for chilling by the beautiful pool, on the beach or venturing further afield into Kotor Bay - highly recommended!
