Headed up to Canberra for a few days and booked this motel on booking.com as we headed into town. Great choice it was a good location to all the sights, clean rooms and friendly helpful staff. its not the newest motel in Canberra but let's face it it's dirt cheap for Canberra and great for what you pay. I broke my own rule of not checking the room at this place even though it seemed from the outside as being run down. The lady in reception was helpful and I paid got the keys and went to my room. YUK unventilated, mould in bathroom the whole place was in disrepair and neglect. I felt decidedly unclean sleeping there...

I wouldn't mind the place being so derelict if the price was lower. Really, I stay in cheap places as often as I can, as I'm usually just there to sleep. If it was $60 or $70/night then I would say value for money. But at $110 it was robbery, even in Canberra. The bath tap ran all night long,...

Positives are price at under $100 a night, quiet, roomy, close to restaurants at Dickson, they gave me a lg oil heater so warm. Negatives are old decor, no electric blanket, no cutlery in room, a/c blows cold air But ok all in all but wouldn't be ok for the fussy so they can stay somewhere else and pay double...

Well we happened to be in Canberra for their coldest day in goodness knows how long so I was so grateful we found somewhere WARM to stay. Our room had air conditioning plus a heater and electric blankets so though it was minus 7 outside we were warm as toast. Inexpensive, clean, comfortable beds, friendly staff, very good location. For...
