Quite basic accommodation on the outskirts of the city, but we really enjoyed our stay here and it was exactly what we needed for one night in Canberra. Easy parking and a friendly welcome, spotlessly clean room and the owners went to a lot of trouble to ensure we made the most of our stay in Canberra, helping with arrangements,...

My partner and I serendipitously discovered this little gem during an overnight trip to Canberra to see the Maps exhibit at the Library. The owner, Mark, is a definite plus: friendly, engaging and genuinely interested in making your Canberra excursion a bit easier. He even called me after we left and politely informed me that I'd accidentally left a phone...

Miranda Lodge is a bit of a find in Canberra, where accommodation can be pricey. For starters, Mark is an excellent host, welcoming and helpful. Rooms are basic but reasonably sized with comfortable beds. Breakfast is excellent, freshly cooked and with muesli, yoghurt and wholemeal bread/toast on offer - ingredients you don't always see in some cheaper establishments. For evening...

We arrived late one evening from Interstate but Mark the owner was waiting for us and showed us to our room. Our room was very clean and comfy and the breakfast room was really just a lovely friendly meeting place. The breakfast was very nice and well cooked by Mark's wife. Mark went out of his way to make sure...

We don't normally stay in b&b so this was a first - and it won't be the last. Our room on the first floor was comfortable and clean with a nice hot shower. Traffic on Northbourne Avenue didn't bother us - Miranda Lodge is on a road that runs parallel to the main road so noise was tempered and not...

Canberra is an expensive city, and Miranda Lodge is brilliant value. I was there for a conference visit for 2 days and it was perfect. The rooms are a little old, but perfectly clean and the bed was comfortable and shower was great, there is a TV and fridge in the room and it was serviced daily. Mark, the host,...

Small hotel with a great location. A 10 min or less walk from Chinatown and many wonderful Asian restaurants. Mark and his wife do a fantastic job at making their customers feel welcome and their breakfast is one of a kind which is included with your stay. Great value

Stayed in a triple room at the back of the property. Was very quiet, comfy and pleasant. The room was warm and the shower was hot. The best part was the owner, he was friendly and very informative. As soon as we arrived we felt like we were old friends. The breakfast was a great start to the day. Plenty...

Stayed in a twin bedroom, upstairs at the back of building. Even though on a main road; it was quiet & peaceful. Surprised at some reviews about noise as all know it's on main road. Bathroom was clean & heating was excellent! Central heating came on late afternoon about 5pm & the room heated up immediately. Very warm & comfy...

The location is good (although very noisy) and the host was nice. However, the place is very run down. Bed was not comfortable, there were no plates/bowls provided if you wanted to just have a bowl of cereal in your room. It was only just passable on cleanliness (big build up of mold in shower, flyscreen in bathroom was filthy...
