We booked a Cosy room but did not expect it to be so small that we were unable to move around. We booked for 6 nights and did not have a wardrobe nor bedside tables to put our clothes etc into. There was only three hangers available for our clothes which were hanging on coat hooks so we basically had to live out of our suitcases. The cosy room would have been ok for a night's stay but no more than that and the hotel should have advised us at the time of booking that perhaps this room was not suitable for our 6 nights stay, especially when we had told them that this was also our honeymoon. The total cost of the stay was certainly not cheap with New Year's eve really bumping up the price. We did not use the honour bar but did use the rooftop terrace which was pleasant during the night. The pastries were lovely and fresh in the morning with our coffee. Reception staff were excellent. I would imagine that some of the rooms at this hotel would be to a high standard, we are only disappointed that our room was so small and did ask for an upgrade for our 6 night stay but the only room available was at a ridiculous price. So if you are staying longer than 1 night do not book a cosy room!…
Love staying here. It feels like a home away from home. The bed is super comfy, the staff are super helpful. The gin bar is special. I have now stayed here twice. Next time I hope to bring my dog. Can’t recommend enough- every room is different and make sure you go to the roof top.
Amazing property! Our dog loved it too. Cozy guesthouse like accommodation. Great finishes, clean and friendly service. Loved the courtyard and rooftop garden. Definitely highly recommend. Easy walk into Surry Hills. Located in a quiet friendly neighbourhood.
We were 4 couples staying at the hotel for 4 nights. We all loved the hotel! When we arrived exhausted in the early morning in the pouring rain, we were met by the kind staff with umbrellas and a warm welcome. The hotel is in a neighborhood with easy access to downtown Sydney and fab restaurants. Rooms were comfy with nice linens. Loved the coffee room and excellent pastries each morning. Gin and Tonic cart was a delightful treat after a day of sightseeing…especially when enjoyed on the rooftop deck. The highlight, however, was the staff…helpful, nothing was too much, warm, and extremely customer oriented.
When we walked into the property (3 hours before check-in time and following a flight from L.A.), we were greeted with a smile and great service. While our room was not ready, the manager arranged to have it prioritized...and offered us a shower, pastries, and coffee while we waited. The room was as advertised. Clean. Well-appointed. Comfortable. The location was perfect. It was quiet, but close to public transportation (which is fantastic in Sydney). Unrelated to the hotel, but worth noting is Shaffa (a couple doors down). We booked dinner there because it was close to the hotel -- but during a trip where we at at restaurants with "Chef's Hats" and "World's 50-best" accolades, this was probably the best meal we had. We would stay at Crystalbrook Albion again. It's a gem.
I was thoroughly charmed by Crystalbrook Albion. Tucked away from the main streets of Surry Hills but within easy walking access of Sydney city centre and Central station, the location is excellent. The attention to detail at the hotel is excellent. Everything about the decor says casual elegance but with a strong emphasis on minimising environmental impact wherever possible. Environmental considerations are important to my hotel choices and Crystalbrook Albion has been one of the best luxury hotel's I've stayed at in this regard. The room itself (307) was spacious and beautifully appointed. The bed was large and comfortable and the bathroom was clean and serene. The hotel provides a lovely range of complementary pastries for breakfast and a good range of teas and coffees. All the staff were friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and helpful. I was travelling alone so I didn't avail myself of much of the social amenities the hotel had to offer but the G&T trolley, honesty bar, and rooftop terrace provide beautiful spaces that would be perfect for groups to get together for a pre-dinner drink. I would happily stay at this hotel again and I'd be keen to try other hotels in the Crystalbrook group.…
What can I say? From the moment we arrived at Little Albion Crystal Brook, the team made us feel so welcome. The hotel itself is not only intimate, gorgeously decorated and well situated in the heart and buzz of Surry Hills, the staff just make you feel at home. My partner and I stayed for 3 nights and had to change a night last minute and the team were so helpful in arranging it. At every step all members of staff (especially Emma and Holly) were always there to make our stay that extra bit special. We already cannot wait to come back. The hotel is clean and quiet with stylish rooms with large bathrooms. A rooftop and honour bar are available and you’re only a short walk away from trendy bars and restaurants. I have recommended this hotel to three friends who have already booked to come. Thanks again for making our stay so wonderful. Truly a highlight of our trip.…
Tucked into one of the backstreets of Surry Hills this hotel blends industrial facades with a winning location. On the fringes of the CBD their a bevy of cafes, resturants and bars, a stones throw from the hotel. Walk a bit further you will hit Oxford street. The room was art deco, lovely big showers, and big comfortable beds, very quiet despite the location. No disturbances here!
Really looked forward to my stay, having missed out in 2021/COVID border closures. Gorgeous place - wonderful design decor and great location, short walk (uphill) from Central station. Staff very friendly and felt well looked after. Unfortunately was placed in room 101 which was right in the main thoroughfare to the afternoon gin tasting and immediately adjacent to common area (also bfast). Had a really uncomfortable sleep - not great pillows, bed a bit lumpy, and just couldn’t get the aircon right. Lots of opening and closing of doors and sound of water running/perhaps fridge cooling to contend with. Everything was v clean and great ammenities though. Just would have loved a greater night’s sleep!
A colleague and I recently stayed at the Crystalbrook Albion for 5 nights for work. We were so impressed with the beautiful building, fabulous artwork, and cosy room. The location was absolutely brilliant too, so close to beautiful restaurants, bars, and cafes. The breakfast pastries were amazing and the coffee machine and "Honour Bar" were also highly commended. :-) By far the best thing about the Crystalbrook Albion, though, was the staff and service. Holly at Reception was the best! Friendly and fun, Holly helped us feel welcomed and relaxed from the outset. Nothing was too much trouble and we were very sad to leave!
