this hostel is in the perfect location, just a ten minute walk from the bus/train station and minutes walk from darling harbour, opera house and harbour bridge. we walked everywhere only using public transport to get out to bondi beach. we stayed in an 18 bed dorm for only $23 p/night so we weren't sure what to expect. the bedding...

I was supposed to stay at the World Square Hostel for four days, but already after one night we chose to move to Wake Up! (Which is a much better hostel: clean, do not smell, nice atmosphere and worth the price). At World Square the rooms do not look like the pictures! The floor carpet has many stains, there is...

The room was not bad, but the kitchen was disgusting, always full of small cockroaches. It was located by the side of a mall with a supermarket, which was good, but also right above a bar that made sleeping difficult a few times. There are many better options for the same price or maybe less.

It is a hostel, so its not meant to be fancy. Cheap and right in the middle of the city. I only used it for the location and was close to everything I needed in the city. Reception was friendly and polite. Free WiFi internet was fine, but only available on the 2nd floor lobby. There was also 2 TV's,...

In Sydney CBD, handy to Train station, Town Hall, and shopping center across the road, close to Darling Harbour. Walking distance to Paddy's Market. Some shops open till 11pm. Public Transport reliable,

On the upside, the staff are great and the location is right in the middle of the city near Town Hall station and World Square. The staff had even put sheets on the beds for us! (I'm not sure if this is normal or we were just lucky) However as others have mentioned, there's no air conditioning. With a nightclub...

Loved this hostel. Had some of the best times in Sydney here! It was mainly down to my room mates (6 bed mixed dorm) but the hostel itself is great! You have a bar on the first floor that do 3$ drinks every day and on the second another bar pops up on weekends. The only downside was the cockroaches....

This place is okay, though it is above a bar. The facilities are relatively nice and they have a big kitchen, but the bathrooms are just stalls, with showers and toilets in the same room. They have enough sheets but it gets hot during the summer because they don't have many windows. I didn't hear much bar noise at night...

The world square hostel is situated right in the middle of Sydney. However location is the only good thing about the hostel. With rooms of up to 8 people and NO air conditioning the only option is to open the windows. As the hostel is in Sydney's Main Street (George st) this is extremely noise polluting. With bars and clubs...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
