An excellent value. If I return to Sydney I will try to stay at the Bayswater. The location is excellent, the people at the front desk are very helpful, the restaurants nearby are quite good. Additionally, the area where the hotel is located felt very safe.

I was ther for two weeks and the only negative aspect in my room was that it was too dark, all brown and black and the lighting was "Sad" A bit of color and nice light would do wonders . However very confortable, very clean staff was great. and location perfect as it is close to Train station.

During my stay at Bayswater hotel, kings cross Sydney, I found the reception staff very helpful and friendly. The location of the hotel is perfect to get around Sydney to see all the sites plus night life. Concerning the close proximity to night clubs, the room I stayed in was very quiet. I would recommend staying at Bayswater hotel kings...

Not what was advertised... This facility did not at all match the pictures. We booked from US with no idea but reviews. It is not "close" to red light district. It is in the red light area of Sydney and has several stairs to gain entrance to small front desk. Clean but no tissues and elevator seemed it might break...

Hello Paul, Thank you very much for taking the time to review your stay with us recently. Please let me apologise if our rooms do not appear. I had a nice stay at The Bayswater Sydney. I arrived very early in the morning and they allowed me to check in when I arrived at no charge. The location of this hotel is great - right on a main street in Kings Cross and a short walk to the subway. There are 24 hour restaurants right across the...

The place smelled like frying bacon. Carpets filthy. Elevator a claustrophobic nightmare when it wouldn't move and the doors wouldn't open. Very noisy location and didn't feel safe going out at night. Would never recommend that place.

Hello Phyllis, Thank you for taking time to review your recent stay with us at The Bayswater Sydney Hotel. I am deeply sorry that your time with us was not a positive experience. Great location Excellent staff Near the subway - very convenient. Near some great restaurants. Bring earplugs- there are cafes / restaurants nearby and must have garbage and recycling pickup every couple of days early in the morning.

The room I stayed in was very small, view to the wall of the next building, and the outside noise was notable. I was just staying for my last night in Sydney and this hotel was the cheapest and happened to be very close to the train station. For those reasons this choice served the purpose. Service was attentive and...

Staying in Kings Cross

Neighbourhood Profile
Kings Cross
Changing liquor laws are remodeling "The Cross," Sydney's red light district. These new rules have encouraged trendy cafes and boutiques to pop-up in the area, as well as organic markets on Saturdays. The area's nightclubs are still popular with youngsters, however, who will dance to the early morning hours on weekend nights. There are plenty of artifacts from Kings Cross' shady past when gangsters and liquor houses owned the place. Today, one can still find a variety of adult entertainment venues in this evolving area.
