The room was nothing special, in fact far from it, and Sydney prices with the over valued dollar means everything is expensive and this hotel is no exception. Staff very friendly and welcoming, and the location is hard to beat. I'd go again, but would like to see the prices moderate

Stayed for two nights before going on a cruise. Second time we have stayed here. Rooms are dated, but very clean and beds are comfortable. Staff are exceptional, breakfast was awesome, has a bar and serves excellent meals. Joined their rewards club, got a two nights stay for the price of one, a $50 hotel voucher and a free breakfast...

We stayed in Sydney for 2 nights for our anniversary. Our flight arrived at 10.30pm so by the time we got to the hotel it was late. The doors were locked but as soon as we said our name they opened up and greeted us. As a new rewards member - we signed up to get a 25% discounted rate....

The Holiday Inn provides comfortable if fairly basic accommodation. The room was quiet, of a decent size and had everything we needed. The location is great, so close to the opera house and circular quay. Would definitely recommend a walk around the rocks, we left this to our last day, but were really pleased we saw all the old buildings...

This hotel is in perfect location, in the heart of the rocks. Only a 1 minute walk to the harbour bridge and 3 minutes to Circular Quay. Our room had a fantastic view, looking over the city and Circular quay. Our friends room, had an amazing view of the harbour bridge! The rooms are very clean, tidy and cosy and...

We just had our second stay at Old Sydney Holiday Inn and were as happy as we were the first time. It really is in such a great location, right in the middle of The Rocks in amongst restaurants, bars, shops and just a short walk to The Harbour Bridge, Opera House, Circular Quay and the CBD. The hotel is...

Dear madhollywood, Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. Thank you for your loyalty. We would like to apologise for the mix up with the cot for your child and that we had mistakenly allocate a room on one of our heritage floors which have the indirect lift access. This hotel was a great find and a great experience from the moment we walked in the front doors to the friendly staff that welcomed us to the upgrade with a harbour bridge partial view and a comfortable room. Fantastic location right in the Rocks. Breakfast was huge, beds were comfortable. Nothing flash but we had a very enjoyable long weekend. We were there during the Vivid festival so it was right in the hub of everything. Walking distance to the Harbour Bridge and Opera House, and the Rocks Market is right outside the hotel.

Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
