The location is excellent, 5 mins walk and you’re at Circular Quay. The hotel suggested two Wilson Car Park stations and the furthest was only 5 min walk away but $15 per day/overnight. The buffet breakfast was decent and crowded but the lines go quick. The room is dated but clean and comfortable. Our view was to the city construction. It was handy to see Vivid Sydney and walking for hours and to just walk back to our hotel to chill out.
After an unpleasant night at a Sister Marriott hotel we transferred to the Sydney Marriott near circular quay and were happy to arrive to the friendly staff who allowed an early check in. Whilst it’s a little dated in that it’s not hipster trendy, it’s a solid property with what travellers need: a quiet room with a very comfortable bed. The room was large with all the required furniture: table/desk, bucket chair and office chair. We were ‘upgraded’ to a higher floor room with Opera House View and partial harbour view: all good. The bathroom was not luxurious in any way, but functional with a spacious shower. We ate downstairs in Customs House and the serves were very generous. I haven’t slept here yet but I’m expecting a good night’s sleep.
.... we found the service excellent. They looked after us very well which was not expected. Our room had a lovely view of the harbour. Perhaps not as nice as some of the grander hotels, but still quite comfortable. We slept well. So, our experience was great! YMMV
A Marriott this is not. Just not in line with brand standards at all. Get used to queueing for elevators and at all times of day. Nothing modern here, old decor, old bathrooms, coffee machines that do not work and housekeeping that does not remove a room service tray (what!) 50 minutes for a coffee, guess what - they blamed the elevators too! The linen is rough and not the usual luxury hotel feel at a regular Marriott. I think the GM needs to stop milking the tourism dollar from the US. Then, visit a few Marriott's elsewhere in the world, Middle East or Asia would be a great wakeup call.
Nicely appointed hotel, friendly staff. Several elevators out of service for upgrades. Made it a challenge to get around. Executive lounge is available to many and was quite crowded. Long lines to get coffee. Lobby crowded late morning. Overall our stay was pleasant.
Positives: great location, walking distance to Sidney Harbour. Super helpful concierge was very insightful, and helped with a dinner reservation at an amazing cantonese restaurant (Mr Wong). Negatives: Super expensive, rooms small and outdated, slow elevators, bed linens of poor quality ... all in all not a good balance of cost vs quality. I am huge Marriott brand fan, and actually have golden status, not very often I have this experience at Marriott. Dissapointed.
Best Hotel in Southern Hemisphere! View, location & Staff! We have stayed here four times now over last 20 years or so. About 10 minute walk to Sydney Opera House, 5 minutes walk to local shops & bars; 10 minutes to weekend Rocks Craft Market. Sydney Harbor boat cruises are only 5 minutes away. Management really trains their staff very well. If you get in early and are Marriott frequent guests, you can get a shower and temporary space. Great rooms, updated showers and lots of great views! If you are a high-ranking Marriott Concierge Guest: there is no better Concierge Club we have ever experienced! Shiv was very nice and friendly in the Concierge Club.
This is a wonderful hotel in a truly great location. The room was large, immaculately cleaned, had a great city, harbor view and was very well appointed. We arrived early because of travel. This hotel provides the availability of an early arrival area. The concierge, in the early arrivals suite, was extremely helpful and pleasant. It was a lovely experience. The front desk staff and bell staff were also superb. This hotel simply provides excellent service. The location in Sydney is also great. I only wish I could move this hotel and its excellent staff to my Country. It would become our favorite. I highly recommend this hotel as a destination on a Business Trip or for a Holiday, Vacation. We loved it.
This is our 2nd stay at the Harbour Marriott. The most recent renovations have made the property even more spectacular. We loved the water and Opera House views from our room. Daily housekeeping is especially appreciated. Being a Titanium Elite was recognized with complimentary admission to the Executive Lounge. The morning breakfast and evening Hors d’oeuvres were among our daily highlights. The staff were wonderfully kind and professional. Last but not least is the location. Easy access to the Circular Quay Ferry Terminal and Opera House makes the Marriott’s location perfect for those who want to explore all of Sydney’s wonders. Obviously, we are thrilled with the Sydney Harbour Marriott and would recommend choosing the hotel for your Sydney vacation. Also it is a great pre or post cruise location because it is walkable to the Overseas Cruise Terminal.…
Stayed here a week for holiday. Awesome location. About a 1 minute walk to Circular Quay Trains and Ferries. We took trains and ferries everywhere (Toranga Zoo, Darling Harbour, Chinatown, milson’s point, barangaroo). We also did walk from Chinatown and Darling Harbour to burn off all the food we ate. 🤣 We checked in at 10pm and was greeted by a friendly staff member, Caroline. She made us special and thanked us for being Marriott gold members. Even gave us a small checkin gift. Nice touch! We were way up on the 21st floor. Great views. Super quiet. There were only about 3 guests on our floor…we barely heard them. Rooms were nice and clean. Beds were awesome. Best sleep I’ve had. My wife even said I quit snoring all week. 🤣 We didn’t use the pool or gym since we were sightseeing all day. I used the Marriott app to request house keeping since we didn’t want cleaning every day. App super easy and convenient ass usual. Highly recommend this place, especially based on location. It was so close, we googled the live times for ferries, and sat in our room until about 5 minutes before the ferry was leaving. Since our flight home was at 9pm, we stored our bags with the bell desk, and went eating/sightseeing for one last time. Again, very easy and convenient.…
