nice hotel, clean, amazing views, great location, staff ok, not shy on charging when they can (think $200 for an hr massage) also when you pay a fair amount for a decent room then get charged credit card surcharge at checkout ... it's not the money($11) its more about the principle.... not ok. Great bar at level 36 too -...

First morning was a disappointment. We are Shangrila Circle Diamond members had booked a corner suite (fantastic views) with access to lounge, but decided we wanted to try the breakfast downstairs. Big mistake. It was a zoo and absolutely not Shangrila level. Next morning, breakfast upstairs, much better. And the views from the Club Lounge are equally amazing. We loved...

Stayed at the Shangri La just recently & absolutely loved it. Walking through the hotel upon arrival it had a aura of elegance which made you feel as though you were in for a superior stay. Our room was large, spacious & timeless with a beautiful view of the Opera house & and wonderfully comfortable bed & beautiful bathroom. Room...

I can't rate the staff highly enough. They were fantastic, so helpful and accommodating. Horizon Club was great, we enjoyed a drink and the view. Room was lovely, only complaint was the bed was sooo hard I didn't sleep well. This is something they should look at for a hotel of this calibre. Great hotel overall.

Having arranged to stay at the Shangri la Sydney over New Year's Eve and paying what was a very large sum to have a room with a view of the fireworks my entire family were very disappointed with our stay. The hotel has some fantastic views and is beautifully decorated but the service was lacking especially for its 5 star...

I have always felt that Sydney Harbour is one of the best views anywhere. And the view from the room we had at this hotel confirms it. We arrived in our car to be met by Blake, who could not have been more helpful. Also, was nice to have a pleasant and sincere person without the normal pretence at some...

Our room had beautiful views both day and night and the service was excellent. The breakfast buffet was very good,, having so much to pick from. I saw others in the lobby having afternoon tea and that look good too. The personnel were most helpful. The hotel is located in a convenient location to attractions in the city. Highly recommend.

Checked in here and was allocated a room. When We got to our room it was already occupied. Very embarrassing but staff quickly rectified the situation by have us stay in the Grand Apartment. Such an amazing view in an awesome location.

Solid 5 star accommodation. Room was nice but not too pretentious! Stayed 2 nights and we had a view over the Cahill expressway looking out to the opera house. Would definitely stay again. Very handy location.

Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
