Welcome was great and staff very accomodating. 1st allocated room was terrible and I was very surprised for a 5 star hotel. Room was dirty with broken items. Staff did reallocate us a new room however was nothing special fir the price. Have stayed in other 5 star hotels in Sydney which have been of much higher quality. Overall a 6/10 disappointing but the staff were great!!! I wouldn’t really recommend - it’s a high end large volume turnover hotel which limits the luxury feel.
We had a Horizon Club Suite and it was very comfortable. The views were amazing and the window seats allow you to take full advantage of it. Everything was clean and there were nice L'Occitane toiletries. The Horizon Club is definitely a highlight of the hotel. The staff are very accommodating and friendly and the food and drink offerings plentiful. The only downside to the hotel was the pool area is very dated and feels like you are at a gym rather than a luxury hotel. Similarly the sauna is a tiny corner of the change room and there are no other facilities unless you have a treatment at the spa. Also because of Covid you have to book a time to use the pool in advance and it was often booked out.
Having stayed at this hotel over the years was our first choice for a night in the city. Sadly it has changed and I do not think Covid can be blamed for everything this was just bad service. The checkin was long and ridiculous. We were asked to scan in out front no problems then we had our temperature checked no problems just followed the queue of people in front then ushered like sheep to the line for checkin. We had pre checked in but still stood at the desk for nearly 10 minutes whilst the guy tapped on the keyboard constantly. I eventually asked if there was a problem to which he replied no just organisation your keys. Wow 10 minutes to arrange keys. The room was clean a lovely view as always but carpet was showing age. Ohh did I mention we noticed people coming in after ask not being tested or checking in and out. The breakfast was a total disappointment a minimal selection given they have discarded the buffet and the hot dish arrived immediately after you receive the fruit and yogurt starter. I asked if it could be brought back later but was met with a frown so just let it slide, needless to say the eggs were cold by the time we got to them. Have now been back to the city 3 times since and stayed in other places which can run efficiently during these times. They have lost me for good.…
Have stayed here over the years and have been very happy but not this time!!! Stayed here overnight last night Monday 31st May 2021 in an Executive sydney harbour view suite 1 king, lounge access , high floor. Very disappointed with room. Three lights in bedroom did not work, lounge suite had dirty seats, heavily stained. Have stayed here over the years and been very happy, but not this time. Will give this hotel a miss, for the top price paid for our room I expected a five star experience, but the room was not a five star room. A pity as in past years it has been a great place to stay.
Harbour view room was stunning. The view from the 29th was breathtaking. Room was clean and tasteful. Service was great and no problem with checkin or check out . The room was quiet and bed really comfortable. I recommend booking Opera house view
