Stayed here for 8 nights while my father was in st Vincent's Hospital, just a short walk away, getting a heart operation. From day one, we found Dom and his team very helpful, caring and professional. He bent over backwards every single day, asking and checking how dad was doing, how I was doing, and if I needed anything at all, and when I did, which wasn't very often, he sorted it out straight away. The hotel is very comfortable, safe, clean and well run, and great value for money. It is in a great location, close to everything you would ever need, and also provides safe, very cheap secure parking.
Would highly recommend to anyone.
Thanks again Dom, you really did make a hard situation so much easier for us, and it is very much appreciated.

I had a good stay. It's affordable, cosy and very close to everything. It has everything you need. Due to COVID-19 social distancing restrictions, I was provided with accurate instructions on how to check in after hours with a video on how to find my room and where to collect my key. That was very helpful. The only criticism I have is that the heater didn't seem to work properly, so I was quite cold at night and the wifi is super slow, so I had to use my phone to connect to the net.

Convenient location, 260m walk to Kings Cross station for public transport to get to all attractions via the train. Stayed in the family room, it’s big enough for a short stay. Close to lots of cafes, Darlinghurst is a great location. Staff were very accommodating to needs while we stayed, requesting extra blankets and an iron, they were at the room in minutes with what we needed.

Lovely decorated room.
Conveniently located in the thick of it all yet the hotel was quiet and a nice place to relax after the hustle and bustle of the streets outside.
The man at the front desk was very helpful and polite and made us feel welcome.
Would definitely opt for the paid parking if driving, as parking is very hard on the street due to how busy the area is.
Nice clean room & comfortable bed and pillows.

Can’t fault with excellent service and a feel of home away from home, recommend you go for the superior rooms with a terrace which is the same size of your room making you feel like you are in a small European city.

The onsite managers are a beautiful couple who see things from a customer perspective and keep things real and manage with hassle free attitude, came in for a night and stayed for 3 and not wanting leave.

If you thinks you are getting what paid for, be ready to receive more than imagined.

The website is very misleading. The room was extremely small, with a bathroom shower that was so small it was unusable, unless you are a hobbit (although your feet would be an issue). The shower was separated from the rest of the very small bathroom by a curtain (dirty) that could not be used except as a wet cloak. The room condition was very poor with the painting and decorating obviously done by Ray Charles. There was one window, frosted and fixed (non-opening) with Crim-safe on the inside (obviously to stop the gusts throwing the selves out due to the state of the room). There was another hole in the bathroom wall that was once a window but is now a badly fitting piece of fibre sheet (however the painting of this did at least match the rest of the decoration). This room would suit a very small, poorly sighted eavesdropper, as you could hear everything that was said and done in the rooms on both sides. I was asked what time I would arrive, I have no idea why, as I still had to wait two hours for my room (apparently it was being cleaned) how it took two hours to clean a room that size is beyond me. I could have re-decorated it in two hours! All this for $350 for two nights....what a bargain!...do yourself a favour and skip it!

Room Tip: Top tip, don't do it. Unless you are a hobbit with extremely small feet (unlikely).

Dear Comedian, thank you for your recent stay and for delighting us with your sarcasm We are sorry to hear you were not satisfied by your room, and we are terribly sorry to read your jokes, however we are glad to have a possibility to answer. Our BUDGET DOUBLE ROOMS are described to be 9sqm including bathroom, they are our cheapest option for travellers on budget looking for small room in a central location (at a budget price) , in fact, $ 350 for the weekend in today's market is a bargain price (that's why you booked). We also believe as you were a single traveller the room was big enough You arrived on a busy Saturday morning at 10 am ( WHICH IS CHECK OUT TIME ) and we managed to have your room ready within 2 hours so by Midday ( WHILE YOU WERE COMPLAINING AND RUSHING US ) CHECK IN TIME IS 2 PM and our housekeepers are working as fast as possible to have rooms ready ASAP for our guests, it's sad to read that even 12pm wasn't good enough for you and wasn't even appreciated. As per the "Crim-safe" to stop guests from throwing themselves out ( ah. ah. ah. ) those are FIRE GRILLS requirement of Sydney City Council after a fire and safety order we had to follow. Would have we known you wanted to jump we could have removed it for you and made you a favor.. We suggest for your next trip to please carefully read the room description to make sure the room meets your high standards, property policy and check in and check out time. Best regards The SBH Team

Booked a king room with a large balcony, but were given a room with a balcony half the size. When I pointed this out on a review on another forum the hotel tried to claim this was actually an upgrade! On arrival, there were half-used miniature bottles of shampoo and body soap in the bathroom, and these were not replaced or refilled when room was made up during stay. The bathroom fan was missing its cover, and there was mould on the shower curtain. There was construction material including broken sheets of gyprock left on the stair landing in front of our door for the entire three night stay. Be warned that the rooms are very small.

Very good boutique hotel. Cosy clean and friendly with very good walking access to some great restaurants nearby. Parking at the nearby station was no problem at a cost of $44 with the exit ticket from reception.
