The Macleay has one of Sydney's most coveted locations in stylish Potts Point, with captivating views of Sydney Harbour or The Brige & Opera House. The views and location are million dollar, but the rates for our self contained studio apartments with kitchen are very affordable. You can stroll to Sydney's most famous landmarks, walk to Circular Quay or be in the heart of the city in just five minutes.

Had a very possibly experience at this hotel - we arrived early but staff at reception could not have been more helpful and let us have our room early - also reception staff full of helpful and sensible knowledge and local advice. This hotel is very good option if you want the flexibility to do your own thing with some meals. Each room has a small kitchen area and a table to sit down and eat at. Kitchen equipped & suitable for preparing light meals. Woolworths Metro food market opposite for stocking up. Three are also some very good places to eat in the neighbourhood. Location wise you can walk to Circle Quay through the Botanical Gardens in about 35 mins - very beautiful scenery on the way - reception staff will tell you about pedestrian short cuts you need to know about to do this - you also have a bus stop for 311 bus into town on your doorstep - usually every half hour. More extensive bus routes & a metro station 5 minutes walk away at Kings Cross. Hotel was spotless - bed comfortable - plenty hot water - room decor a tad tired - hotel good value in an expensive city

Third time here and we got the same studio we asked for with amazing views over the bay which is why we come back. Love the Potts Point vibe and Kings Cross is just a short walk for getting the train to the airport/going to Bondi. We LOVE the walk to the opera house via Woolloomooloo and the Botanics. We have dropped a star rank only because the studio could now do with a bit of modernisation-the modern bathroom is fab but the potentially fold away bed/fittings are dated. Saying that, ALL the other pluses mean we would definitely stay again.

The worst hotel experince ever. On arrival in Sydney we rented our car and headed out to see some sights. We tried to call the hotel for over an hour with the reception phone ringing out. Finally after 11 attempts (records kept on the mobile phone) we finally had a person answer. We asked about parking as the rental company had given us a larger car. The person on the phone, very dissmissive and not at all interested said the carpark is full. We would need to park in a public carpark at Kings Cross. Our main comment is that we tried 11 times in all to try and solve this issue, however the front desk were at all times dissmissive. Over $800 and we didn't even enter the hotel. Be warned.

We enjoyed our stay at the Macleay Hotel in Sydney. It is well situated, with many lovely eateries nearby. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Although the room was small, it was well appointed and allowed us to prepare some of our meals on site. The small coffee press could have been a bit bigger, LOL. Regular “large” double bed was nevertheless comfortable.

Arrived early morning, my room ready soon after I'd checked in. The room decor very dated. The views were amazing, lovely to sit & take it all in. Hotel in a very quiet location. Close to shops, bus stop & station. Wonderful walk to the botanical gardens & opera house.

Had a great stay at Macleay Hotel over New Years. The staff was super helpful and the room was spacious and comfortable. We found it in walking distance of several places to eat as well as see sight of Sydney. We booked a bridge/opera house view room and it was perfect for the NYE fireworks.

Warm and welcoming staff, asked for a quiet room and were given an upgrade to a room with a stunning view over the harbour. The room was made up each day, all in all it was a great stay at an okay price. Would recommend.
