As an Accor Plus Platinum member I used a suite night upgrade to stay at this fabulous hotel before a cruise . The room was amazing, spacious bedroom and living area and huge bathroom with separate toilet. The Executive lounge is on the small side but we still managed to find a spot for some evening drinks and canapés. We had a great meal in the restaurant as well. The hotel is undergoing some renovations but it didn’t impact our stay. The staff are warm and welcoming. Breakfast in the buffet was a bit chaotic but that’s buffet breakfast for you . The food was nice. The hotel is in a very good location near the QV Building. An easy light rail journey from Central station and then light rail once again the next day to Circular Quay to catch our cruise . Plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance . I liked it so much I used my second suite night upgrade for a stay in Jan and have booked a further stay in February . Thanks so much to the fabulous team .

Hotel's Favourite
We booked a room with a view of Darling Harbour that gave my partner a view of water that she wanted & all 3 of us were able to see the planes coming into land as well as take off. The room was very spacious, close to the lift & access to the rooms was via 2 separate lifts than eliminated any security problems that could occur. The buffet breakfast was superb & you did not leave the facility feeling hungry. My daughter had without a doubt the best breakfasts she had ever had in her life. Location Location this hotel had it all. Walk to the left & you are in Hyde Park. Go right & it's Darling Harbour. And they are both easy walks. Best of all is the Light Rail stop 50 metres away in George Street just around the corner that is 3 stops to Circular Quay for all the ferry rides. Woolworths or Coles just around the corner If you need a hotel that has it all IT IS SWISSOTEL IN SYDNEY We will be returning in 6 months time because both Sydney & this hotel can compete with anything there in the rest of the world

Had a 2 night stop after our cruise, was very impressed with this hotel, was pleasantly surprised our room was ready even though we were early and they up graded us to the 24th floor. Very minimal disruption due to the renovations, just the restaurants being combined was all that I could see. Very generous bathroom with a separate bath and lovely lotions to use. I can see the upkeep in the bathrooms will be an overhead though as there is a wooden dado rail above the bath that is painted and the moisture is starting to make the paint peel already.

Stayed here during first week of for five nights. With some renovation going on, its a bit inconvenient to get to the hotel reception which is on the 8th floor. I guess some signage to guide the guests would be helpful. Again am sure its a temporary issue and once the renovation is completed the place would be fine. Check in and check out was smooth. The room was well appointed with all the amenities. I found the bed quality a bit poor and instead of a king size bed, two single beds were joined and they didnt feel very comfortable. Reasonably good breakfast and good food( though limited options ) for lunch and dinner aswell. I feel that housekeeping could be improved as one of the days the room wasnt made though I had left the sign on. It also could be that my room was in a corner and the sign may not have been visible from the corridor. One thing I want to highlight is that, I had left my leather belt behind when I checked out and later I contacted the hotel and they were kind enough to confirm that they found the belt in the room and they offered to courier the same/store with them till my next visit. Thank you for so responsive. The place is really central and convenient. Closer to Trains/Trams/Bus/Taxis. There are quite a few restaurants aswell around to dine in. Overall I had a good stay and would definitely return when the next opportunity comes.

We stayed for 7 nights The room was not refreshed or cleaned daily Not accommodating for Muslim guests. Not even an omelot is separated from the bacon. We paid for breakfast but had no benefit The pool was not even working There was construction Thankfully we hardly spent time at the hotel A false rating of being 5 star. One of my worst stays. I even laid a complaint and no response or compensation given to date

1300 2 nights mid week was Too overpriced, hard to get to carpark, overpriced carpark fees, very outdated furniture and outdoor furniture was 2 wooden chairs that were rotten. Froze in the room the first night as the aircon was stuck and we couldn't adjust the temperature.

Currently doing renovations so some disruptions, good they are doing them but best to enquire with hotel if it impacts what facilities you may want to use. Room is beautiful. Service at check in and concierge excellent. Got in late so had a room service salad. Very average. Overall a lovely stay and would recommend. Great location.

Hotel is currently undergoing renovations hence 4 star rating. This is long overdue as the Swissotel was dated and tired. Both gym and pool were under construction (we were hoping to use) but we were offered passes to Virgin Active gym to compensate. Breakfast was ok, but will have to up the standard if it is to claim 5 star status, I believe the breakfast room is soon to be refurbished. I’m sure once work is completed the hotel will be up to 5 star rating. The Swissotel is in an unbeatable position for shopping, State theatre shows, QVB, light rail - everything at your fingertips!! When completed Swissotel will have a brand new gym and beautiful pool area, perfect to use after a morning’s shopping/exploring. I didn’t use the beauty spa, it also has had a makeover so maybe next time. Staff are lovely, helpful and try really hard, I look forward to the new look Swissotel!!

I was visiting from the U.S.A. and stayed for 7 nights at this hotel. I am a business owner and knew I had some business to conduct during my stay, so prior to booking I confirmed with the hotel that they had a business center with computers and internet. During my stay I went to the business center, only to find that the computers had no internet connection. I informed the hotel who said that there was no one on site to fix it. The wifi that was available was not a secure network, so I could not use it for my work. I was very dissatisfied with the manager's response when I brought up my concerns. The manager wouldn't even meet with me when I asked to speak to them directly, I was told they were 'too busy' with other work. I emailed the manager David Ross, and instead of apologizing or providing a resolution he gave multiple excuses for the poor service. I noticed that other amenities were not available, such as the pool. It is very frustrating because I booked with this hotel thinking it had all the amenities I needed to enjoy my stay. The inability to have access to a secure internet or computer left me unable to do the work I needed to do for my business and resulted in some losses to my business. As we checked out, another manager named Christopher did apologize for the inconvenience, which I appreciated. Based off this experience I would never again stay at the Swissotel.

Response from Dave Ross, General Manager at Swissôtel Sydney
Responded 1 week ago
Hello 880sajjada, Thank you for your review of our hotel, without going into a long reply if I may. Yes we did have an outage for the business center relating to switching gear failure the IT team were busy trying to restore the service. I agreed in our prior communication this is not ideal and frustrating- we are sorry about this. My invite for a coffee was my ideal way to talk to you about your stay but timing didn't allow for your schedules. The email reply in absence of the coffee was offering up transparency to the service gaps. We are busy training some new team members. I appreciate this is a hotel matter and you as a valued customer shouldn't be concerned with our training programs. However I can say some of the team who have never working in hotels prior have come a long way. We have promoted on all sites we have visibility to that we are refurbing, many of these sites you need to kick to close the alert. Yes the Pool is under refurb, however it will be returned to us in the new few weeks - the new look and feel is absolute luxury. I do hope you reconsider us as your chosen Hotel when in Sydney next. All our improvements will be complete, something we are excited about. thank you Dave
