Lovely old vintage style hotel, cosy fires, beautiful decor. Generous sized rooms most with open air balcony and views to the Opera House. Clean and comfortable, although no complimentary biscuits with tea and coffee in your room. Quite tasty meals in the dining room but service is slow so make sure you allow plenty of time if going to a...

Dear Therese H, I am so happy your time with us was great from start to finish. We always strive to give wonderful service to all of our guests. Unsure on your comments regarding tea and coffee as all our rooms have complementary tea and coffee. I will address the staff speaking in the foyer situation as this should happen....

Easy access to everything around Circular Quay. The lift from the car park was broken. There is no access from the car park directly to the hotel. Excellent service and clean but starting to look a bit tired. The furniture was showing signs of wear and tear but the bed was very comfortable!!

A Fantastic property that can not be faulted. Everything from the staff, rooms, location and meals are first class. Best nights sleep I've had in ages and the night swim in the roof top pool was awesome.

We had a wonderful stay in this charming old hotel, which is exceptionally well appointed with polite and attentive staff. Our room was huge and so was the bathroom. Great location close to Circular Quay, restaurants and the city shopping. Coming up from Wollongong, we found the hotel very easy to get to.

We had booked the Sir Stanford on Booking.com in February. We chose this hotel as we had stayed there before and we knew the location was perfect for the Sydney Half Marathon. They rang me at 3.50pm the day before our stay to tell me the room was not available. They had booked us into another nice hotel but in...

We stay at Sir Stamford at beginning of September for 5 Nights. The hotel is conveniently located for trains and ferries. Also to the Opera house, botanical gardens and the Rocks market ( Sat & Sun ). The hotel has only 8 floors, so not considered high rise, which limits the views available. The better side is looking over the...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
