The staff were excellent, the rooms were a really generous size with comfortable furniture and bed. Large balcony with great views - even better from higher floors (we were on level 4). The shower over the bath is both a pro and a con - gives a bath if you choose to indulge but means you have to climb over the side to have a shower. I am short and hubby uses a walking stick so in our case, a bath was a hindrance. On the down side, there is no luggage ramp which means you need to lift your luggage to get it into the hotel. Although nicely presented, there are some areas which really needed maintenance eg the balcony and the bathroom.
Our usual hotel was closed for renovations however The Rendezvous was more then adequate. Great location and a clean and comfortable hotel with friendly and helpful staff. It was cheaper then our usual hotel too which was a bonus. There is a parking station underneath for validated parking (Wilson Parking) however we were unable to use it due to many reserved spots and the rest of the carpark being full - you cannot book parking through the hotel either so we missed out and paid a small fortune for parking further down the road :( Apart from the parking everything else was great!!!!
We arrived at the hotel early from our cruise ship. The desk clerk was so kind and kept our luggage safe so we could enjoy our day. When we returned, our room was extremely hot. We called the front desk and a staff member arrived immediately. She agreed it was too hot to sleep there and we had another room within 20 minutes. The rooms were clean, the staff was friendly and the pool area was charming. We also enjoyed The Rocks. There was a convenience store on the corner, plus many dining options and shops.
a/c had a leak but not too bad and aircon very good, nice to have a sink and microwave but fridge freezer completely full of ice so unusable.Comfy bed,big bathroom with a bath.Window faced East so dont open the blinds before 10 or you'll be blinded, plus people on balcony next door can see you in the bed
We stayed in a top floor room with a balcony overlooking Circular Quay & the Opera House. Room included a small kitchen, sitting room, wardrobe room, bedroom & en suite. Very spacious for Sydney, and a Harbour view from all the main rooms. It's in the heart of the Rocks with a short walk to Ferries & light rail. Very quiet at night in this upper room. Rooms are very clean with all mod cons. Decor is dated but, hey, an apartment overlooking the Opera House ! What more could you want in Sydney ! I can't comment on the other rooms but I imagine a balcony room is well worth the extra. If you're looking for a flash hotel with chrome, marble and concierges, this is not for you, but if you want a very comfortable & spacious old fashioned Rocks experience this is the place to stay. There is no restaurant or breakfast in house, but loads of cafes nearby & an Ezy Mart just up the road where we bought our breakfast & snack requirements. On arrival our credit cards played up but the Hotel receptionist was very patient whilst it was sorted. We've stayed in the nearby Russel a number of times but it's getting very busy & noisy, particularly at weekends. The Rendezvous will definitely be our default option in future…
Booked for 6 nights, checked out after 2nights. The room looks SO dated and the carpets are so worn out. Looks nothing like on their website. This whole place seriously needs to be fully refurbished. The air con was making weird noises on our first night, so we moved rooms ( a room which I thought was a lot nicer). Worst night ever, the shower tap would not shut and we slept with the water running the whole night.
Poor experience. Staff uncaring, and dismissive. Room, bathroom and kitchen old, worn and dirty and seriously in need of a major upgrade to a far higher standard than it is currently, especially at the prices charged. Will stay elsewhere in future.
Location and warm welcome second to none We were welcomed by lovely staff and the location is incredible for central Sydney. The one bed apartment is comfortable but tired. The bed was enormous and comfy. The seperate sitting room and kitchen so useful! Cheapest place to stay in circular key and exactly what we needed.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was great and the room was a reasonable size and comfortable. The room had a small kitchen and desk for working, along with an armchair which was great for putting the feet up after a day of walking.
Great customer service. The staff at the reception were welcoming. Speedy check in as well. The reception staff had their smiles when you enter and exit the hotel. Would definitely stay again. Quiet room also
