I was quite late booking hotels so this one seemed ok on paper but i was worried and i needn't have been. I got a great room with a balcony view over the pool. The staff were friendly, storing my bags, lending me an umbrella and giving me directions when asked. The bed was comfortable and i slept well. The room had a washer and dryer which was great although it would be helpful if they had washing powder available but it wasn't a biggee to go and buy it

Great value apartment. We stayed 4 nights, booked well in advance for less than A$1800. We were a family of five in a two bed apartment. Plenty of room, though we did end up with two doubles instead of a double and a twin. Near to both Circular Quay and The Rocks. Large living space with good kitchen and laundry. Would stay here again if the price was good.

We loved our night at the York wishes we were staying longer we expect a hotel room what we got was a large well equipped apartment with a full kitchen and a bath. Not to mention pool spa and sauna. The location can’t be beaten near Wynyard station the rocks and Circular Quay with great restaurants, cafes and pubs nearby.

Checking in was fine. The room is a bit outdated and needed a bit of cleaning. There were dust coming out from the vent in the bathroom everyday. The manager on duty named "Drake" is the worst manager. He treated us so badly like we weren't a guest at the hotel. I don't even know how he got promoted to that title. Other front desk agents did way better job and treated us like a guest. First, we asked for the service for the room earlier than 2 pm because our young kid slept around that time and we didn't get a service for 2 days before that. But he ignored the request or concerned from us and said that the housekeepers had to clean other rooms that checking out first - bad explanation even if it's true. I used to be a guest service agent myself, I was trained to say something better than that. All guests are important period! Second, we asked to get more body wash because we didn't get the service, he said they don't have at the desk and didn't do his best to find us some but gave us 1 soap for 4 people. Guest service agents know where housekeepers keep the trolley, they should have done it easily. Then we wanted to do late check out and he didn't even check and said he couldn't accommodate because the room would be full on that day and we needed to pay 30aud to stay 30 mins late check out which is a lie. We ended up paying 60aud to stay till 3pm but he made someone called us right before 3pm and asked if we paid plus completely locked us out from the room a bit before 3pm even if that fee would cover up to 5hours late check out. Everyone was great except that manager on duty. Very disappointed!!!

We had a nonrefundable booking but couldn't attend due to coronavirus and requested them for a postponement (not cancellation) of our booking on humanitarian grounds due to the unprecedented circumstances.
But unfortunately, the staff was quite curt and did not even consider postponement. They have no consideration for their customers even during such difficult times whereas other hotels and even airlines are considering the requests of their customers.
I would strongly recommend other co-travellers not to book in this hotel since the management is very stubborn and unwilling to help out even in times of crisis.

Just checked in yesterday. The reception is friendly and approachable. Check in process was painless. Room is not sound proved. Easily hear guests getting on/off the lifts. It was quiet at night.

Room is spacious. There's plenty room to dance in kitchen, lounge or balcony. Bathroom is huge with seperate bath tub and walk in shower. Washing machine and dryer are conveniently located in the bathroom.

Everywhere looks clean and tidy. Keep up with good job.

The apartment is in prime location, walking distance to everywhere you essentially need. There are plenty restaurants within minutes of walk. Woolworth supermarket is cross York St. Guests can easily walk to attractions like Darling Harbour, Circular Quay, Hyde Park, Town Hall, Fish Market, etc.

Stayed 4 night just before New Year’s Eve 2019. We always try to book a 2 bedroom property when we travel which can limit choice. We were pleasantly surprised with the York. Great location. Easy walk to the rocks. Light rail very handy for circular quay and also an easy walk to Barangaroo wharf for ferries or dining. We had a large 2 bedroom apartment which was more than adequate. It’s an older hotel and showed some aging but we felt it was great considering the rate we paid. Full kitchen and large lounge room. Daily maid servicing was also great. The pool is absolutely fantastic. A little oasis in the heart of Sydney, would happily rebook just for the pool. Kids loved it and used it everyday. Very relaxing after long days exploring. Free coffee in lobby a nice touch. Front desk staff a bit hit and miss but didn’t affect us greatly.

We have recently stayed for 2 nights in the 3 bedroom Swiss Super Suite, we had a really lovely stay and would recommend for a well priced city stay. The front desk people were pleasant but Mehmet was a stand out. Location is excellent, a few minutes walk to The Rocks and Circular Quay. Parking is expensive at $50/night. The apartment is massive and the beds are particularly comfortable. The carpets need updating quite urgently and I was surprised there was no coffee machine given the fact we were in their best room. Shower and water pressure excellent but no bench space for toiletries/clothes. The balcony door is a trap for young fingers so be careful. When the doors are shut there is barely any noise and the small harbour view was lovely. Air con through our which is fantastic. I thought the pool was supposed to be heated but it’s not. Overall a very pleasant stay and I’d recommend.

We had a 3 bedroom apartment that had everything you would need for 6 adults. Great location near The Rocks cafes and close to Wynyard Station. The staff allowed us to check in early and staff late. Would highly recommend this hotel. We had a lovely balcony with water views. Will definitely stay here again.

We had a "staycation" booked in the city and decided to stay at The York.
We were so very disappointed with The York and would not recommend anyone to stay there. The first unit we stayed at the lights were out in every room, the shower was like a hose, the remote to the aircon did not work. We were moved to a different unit that also had a globe out in the kitchen with furniture that should be on the council cleanup. The bedhead was not attached to the bed and the wooden furniture, along with the lounge should be thrown out. We could have paid less at a 5 star hotel close by in the City. Honestly this was VERY disappointing. We will never be back!

Hi, I don’t think the hotel operates one but the train service from the airport is fantastic. You can get off at Wynyard and there is a short walk to the hotel, about 3mins.

Hi John I'm so sorry, we've been overseas since the end of November and I've just seen your message. We had a 2bdrm appt and it had a full kitchen, huge corner balcony with furniture, wifi, washing machine, tvs etc. The balcony had a lovely view towards the sea on one side, and the city on the other. We were pretty high up though so probably not directly looking into opposite building. Fantastic place to stay though.
