I booked this hotel entirely due to location and price. To be right in the heart of the CBD with stores, QVB, train so close at $186 per night it was an easy decision. I arrived late, leaving early so was just looking for a place to sleep. And the requirements there are that the bathroom is clean and the...

This was our first visit and was for two nights. The public rooms are immaculately maintained in a style which matches the heritage nature of the building. The room was quite small which can happen with a city centre location. The bathroom was OK with a plentiful supply of hot water. The room was well decorated, maintained and serviced. The...

This is a very clean cozy downtown hotel close to the opera House, Botanical gardens, ferries and Cruise Ship terminal. Its location is in an area of very good shopping. Really not worth a review. Awful experience from check-in to check-out. During the busiest time of the year they only had one front desk person to handle multiple check-ins. Extremely small rooms. Bathroom behind a sliding door with no privacy. Funny smell throughout this very old building. Front desk was not staffed upon check-out. Left the key on the desk....

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
