We spent at this hostel for 2 nights. Before choosing it we read some reviews and made some comparison between hostels in Kings Cross and Sydney CBD. Location of the hostel is good and close by train station. However there is also plenty of hostels nearby. We booked a private room. It has double bed, fridge, TV and a basin....

This place is great, the room is a good size, nice comfy bed, small but very good digital tv, decent size in room fridge, sink and mirror. The kitchen here is great, always clean and tidy, exchange key for pots and pans, and good equipment. Oven, gas and electric hobs. Always something on, massive tv and bean bags in TV...

Myself and my friend visited this hostel for 4 nights over a weekend in April. We booked this as it was a hostel our cousin had stayed in. We were not disappointed. Everyone warned us about the Kings Cross area where the hostel is located as it was known to be a bit dangerous and not very safe. We did...

Spent a week here at the end of March after coming from a horrible hostel in Bondi which has a rooftop. The Belfast born receptionist was very friendly to us upon arrival and anybody else we dealt with were also helpful and friendly. One slight problem we had was that there was a smell of damp in our room -...

Rooms were ok but can get crowded and hot when full. Location is right in heart of kings cross which has a few interesting characters that may walk past screaming random stuff at times.Easy walk from a night out.half an hour from cbd. Main guy was friendly and helpful but a couple of the staff leave a lot to be...

A classic hostel full of backpackers only. Pluses: Helpful reception desk, free daily breakfast, free weekly BBQ, rooms have a TV and fridge, great location, free wifi for 2 hours when checking in, cheap Negatives (only small): loud AC unit, very old decor, chipped skirting boards, old showers, no bar. Overall definite thumbs up

I booked online from the US. Very efficient, friendly service. When I arrived at Jolly Swagman I was met with the same. The room was a good size and clean with refrigerator, tv, table and chair as well as a comfy bed. Showers/bathroom were clean too. All staff very friendly. Situated around the corner from great restaurants, shops, a grocery...

The location was very very sketchy... but the Jolly was clearly well cared for and loved. The staff were lovely. I had a horrible first room, where the two others in the room were up all night, on skype constantly and stepped on our stuff. The staff gave us a new room, on the top floor, but we could still...
