I always try and remain as objective as possible, not allowing one bad thing to overshadow the good. However, with Rydges Sydney Central the bad have definitely outweighed the good. The hotel is a midrange, 'apparently' 4 star establishment offering competitive rates, close to Central station - only a 5 minute walk away. But just because the rates are good...

The hotel is centrally located, but within walking distance of the harbour, and all the tourist spots. The beds and pillows were really comfy, and the room was clean and well presented. We had dinner and breakfasts, which were all excellent

Very comfortable bed, rooms were clean and comfortable with a nice balcony outside. Reception staff/supervisor very accommodating and helpful. Buffet breakfast very disappointing. Location was convenient being a short walk from Central station.

We arrived back in Sydney after a few weeks in New Zealand early in the morning and I'd arranged a few nights in Sydney before returning to the real world. Our room wasn't quite ready when we arrived at Rydges mid morning but we hadn't expected it to be so left our luggage and went out for a walk. The...

Travelling with two teenagers we got two rooms adjoining and it was a great deal. Cheaper to get two rooms than a room that slept four of us. Very good location, walking distance to Single Origin Coffee in Reservoir St, great place for breakfast. Check in was easy, we got there early our room was not ready. Came back after...

Close to Central station so easy to get about. Room pretty standard, as was restaurant. Breakfast expensive for what was on offer. For a bit more trendy, Hotel 57 on the next street over is a good choice.

We stayed at the Rydges hotel and it was great! Although it is pretty far from the harbor and the main attractions of Sydney, the staff and service was amazing. They were kind enough to help us with confirming some of our tours and this was very helpful since we don't really know how to dial Australian phone numbers. (We...

As a habit I do not use in room bar facilities as I find them overpriced. On this occasion I consumed one bottle of water. I cleared the account on checkout but upon checking my bankcard account today here was a debit for $3.50 from this venue. This has never happened to me before so I would recommend to check...

This review is for duty manager Matthew. Dear Matthew, On Friday 18th November 2016, my wife and I stayed at the hotel for a weekend in the city to see Aladdin. Due to unfortunate events we had to leave the hotel early. We just wanted to thank Matthew and his staff for the exceptional customer service that we received that...

The room was spacious and clean with a good bed. We booked a "balcony" room and the balcony was nice with good chairs. However the view was of an inner courtyard. last time we stayed we had a balcony with a view over Surry Hills which was much nicer. Bit disappointing. Reception staff was friendly and efficient - both checking...

Dear Henk, Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. It is always nice to hear that our hotel holds a special place in people's hearts. Unfortunately being an inner-city hotel majority of our rooms do look out to other buildings. We do have a few rooms that are an exception, requests can always be made prior to...
