When we checked in on New Years Day at around 3.30pm, it was a Zoo. We got our room straight away, although the Receptionist tells us that due to COVID, they are not providing daily servicing. Try calling Reception and the phone just rings out. The challenge, getting to our room. Huge crowd waiting for the elevators. Any the elevators sit on floors for several minutes at a time not moving. By Meriton standards, they are small and tiled throughout, which leaves a very cold feel. Anyway, unpack and put our valuables in the room safe. NO SAFE. I call Reception. She tells me that they have removed safes from several rooms, but we could put our valuables at the Reception. NOT. What hotel these days does not provide safes in rooms. I ask the Receptionist to move us to a room with a safe and she promises to look and get back to me, but that never happens. I then go down to Reception and explain the situation, get the same answer, ask for a new room, no rooms available, but they will send the maintenance man on a treasure hunt in the basement and try and find a safe. Eventually, a maintenance man arrives with a safe and screw driver/screws and attaches the safe, with two half inch screw to the melamine cabinet in the wardrobe. How secure is that. Enough said about that, but it is not acceptable to have your valuables exposed. Try using the internet. Hopeless. I gave up and used my personal hotspot. I really unhappy start to 2022.

Recently our family stayed at the Meriton Apartments Pitt Street Sydney and I am writing to commend you on your staff member, Victoria Smyth. Victoria was polite and very helpful on check-in. Accommodation (4004) was tied, broken cord, leaking shower, damaged shower head, GREAT shower pressure, HARD beds, average cleaning and late check-out to noon [thankyou].

Dear andrewmA9504ZV, Thank you for sharing your feedback from your recent stay at Meriton Suites Pitt Street. First and foremost, please allow me to apologize for the experience you had while staying with us. This is certainly not the standard which we strive to achieve and something we will be investigating at length with all departments including housekeeping and maintenance so we can improve both the hotel and our service. I would also like to thank you for your kind words about Victoria. She is certainly an asset to our Guest Services Team. Thank you once again. I do hope to gain the opportunity to welcome you back to Meriton Suites again in the near future. Kind regards, Joanne S Guest Service Manager

Upon booking a 1 night stay, I found this to be the cheapest hotel in the Sydney CBD. This hotel is situated right next to Town Hall station. Stayed in room 1801, in a studio luxury suite. Staff were very friendly, and I was able to store my luggage until my room was ready. Room was spacious, and the bed was super comfortable. I wasn't expecting the private balcony which was a little surprise. And I was lucky that a clothes dryer was in the in the room. The negatives....The toilet would leak after flushing and you could hear the traffic noise in the room. Not sure this hotel be calling itself a 5 star. More like a 4 star hotel.

Overall an ok stay. Meriton has a good name but we had a few issues. We stayed in a one bedroom suite. Clean tidy and close the everything. The car park is very tight so be careful. Town hall is just around the corner. One thing I didn’t like is you can’t watch tv lying in bed. It’s near you but not where you can see it laying in bed. No air dyer for you washing. The tumble dyer kept overheating and turning over. Took over an hour after we asked for one. Only had one cup on arrival. Seven eleven located downstairs. All that said the bed was comfortable and the shower hot.

Room Tip: Car park is very tight. Seven eleven is down stairs and a Japanese restaurant. Close to the heart...

It was an overall ok experience. It is a great choice for a basic stay at Sydney’s CBD. The service is average. I didn’t like that the room was so small with such a large king bed that you couldn’t close the bedroom door. The shower is tiny and a view of Sydney’s city is non existent from the first 30 floors. The elevators frequently broke down so it took us around 30mins to get down to the lobby to checkout. The hallway to your room smelt of cigarettes. Cleaning service didnt replace what you used (shampoo, milk, coffee etc) they just made the bed (didnt even take or replace used towels) we had to go and ask for fresh towels to which the service was also not great.
