I stayed at the hotel for 2.5 weeks during one of the busiest times in Sydney. The rooms were cleaned daily. The staff exceptional. The manager on duty incredible. I had a few hiccups as any traveller would at any hotel but once mentioned by me to the staff they without hesitation went beyond to ensure my stay was perfect. It isn’t the most glamorous or biggest or even the most sophisticated place but it was perfect for a solo guy like me travelling in Australia for Mardi Gras and site seeing. Other friends of mine ran into numerous problems beyond my challenges at other big chain hotels but this little place kept me going and made me very happy. I’d return anytime. It’s location is perfect for site seeing and a overnight sleep or daytime nap. Thanks to all the staff there that were amazing. See ya again soon I hope!

This Ibis is excellent value for money for Sydney. I don't understand why some reviews have been so negative. All staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast had a good choice and was just $10. Our room was clean and, though not large, there was still space for two large suitcases. It is a 15-minute walk to the centre of Sydney. There are plenty of eating places and bars nearby. Kings Cross station is 300 metres away. Buses pass the hotel.

Excellent hotel . Extremely comfortable bed and great aircon. Central to most sights. Great tariff and friendly staff. Just down the road from Kings Cross. Close to restaurants and a ten minute walk to Australian Museum. Large flat screen tv.

Great view and base to explore Sydney. Lots of ba knackers in this area, very basic but does the job for a couple of nights as I was in Sydney to explore city. After long uk flight we arrived at 8 am in morning and we were so grateful that we could check in so early so we could refresh ourselves, amazing! Most 5 star hotels wouldn't have allowed that! Our room had a view of the opera house which was great. Few tips: get uber from airport and not a taxi as I mistakenly got a taxi and it cost me twice as much as my return taxi to airport from uber. You can walk to the harbour to get on the ferries to manly Island and watsons island views are stunning. Great rooftop bar where u can have food at reasonable price named Glenmore Hotel. Book a table as the views are amazing! Great job ibis hotel!

I have stayed a few days at the IBIS Budget Sydney William Street. The cleaning service does the bed, but does not clean the room, nor the bathroom. Apparently you have to tell them separately to clean the room. Also, breakfast should be available from 7am, but it never is.

This is a true find in expensive Sydney. Located in a great area - Darlinghurst - with many restaurants and stores nearby. 5 minute walk to Kings Cross metro station, which is just a couple stops from Circular Quay. Best of all was the view from our room - Harbor Bridge and the Opera House. You wouldn’t have this view in many hotels that cost six times as much. Clean, nice bed and Wi-Fi. The rooms are a bit small but adequate. Friendly staff. Excellent choice.

Good location, and the staff are helpful. However, cockroaches, small room, chipboard as a fashion statement, and, if you are unlucky to have your taxi drop you off at the street entrance, you are looking at 30 steps up to the elevator.

We have stayed at Ibis hotels before and they were fine. Cockroaches are NOT fine. If you are curious, Turn on the light suddenly early in the morning or ten minutes after lights out, or move the fridge and watch them scatter. If you like chipboard as a wall surface and roaches, and going up 31 steps with luggage to get UP TO the beginning of the elevator, then this is the hotel for you. Otherwise it isn’t. To be fair the desk person did haul up the heaviest case for us and we later found that the cabbie had dropped us at the wrong door. The address is William street, but you need to go around the block to get in the back way. But seriously, I don’t care how nice the guy was, I won’t knowingly stay at a place with roaches. The air conditioning also failed and leaked water all over the floor and the bathroom was poorly designed so that shower water was not contained and the glass screen on the one side posed a danger of head banging for night time trips in there.

Avoid at all costs. Booked this hotel as it was the only choice in the last minute . Price is cheap, so expect the quality to be just as cheap. Room smelt absolutely foul. The kind of smell that is just stuck to the walls and it sticks to you The floor was stuck together with tape The bed frame was filthy The aircon even filthier People with IV drips walking around the hotel People screaming and yelling in the corridors and you can’t complain to the front desk because there is no phone in the room so you either put up with it or risk meeting a crazy person outside Very noisy hotel Shower was not hot and took a good 20 mins for the water to get to a temperature that is not freezing . Corridors were filthy Just avoid it at all costs

We stayed her for two nights (2 Adults 2 Kids under 3). Check in and out was easy. Aircon was great sheets and towels were clean and plenty. Definitely starting to show wear and tear especially in the small bathroom. Bed being on wheels was very annoying. I wouldn't recommend this location for families. Close to kings cross and a 5-10min walk up the road and you are in the heart of Sydney city. Sorry I wont be staying here again as I think a few extra dollars if not the same price spent elsewhere gets you something more enjoyable .
