I HAVE NEVER BEEN IN A PLACE MORE DIRTY THAN THIS: IN ONE WORD WAS DISGUSTING 🤢 I'LL NEVER BEEN BACK AGAIN AND I'LL NEVER SUGGEST ANYONE TO GO THERE. Toilets were always extremely dirty same with all the rooms furniture! Had only fresh blankets over it. That's just insane even for a cheap hostel I can expect better than...

Myself and a friend booked a hostel as a stopover in Sydney before we begun our travels up the East Coast. We had had a disappointing day after losing out on the campervan of our dreams and all we needed was a nice place to rest our heads after heading into town for a few scooners. The hostel was easy...

This was a fairly quiet hostel compared to others within the area which appear to have more guests and younger crowds. It is pretty much in Chinatown so lots of Asian shops and restaurants nearby. The opera house and quay is about a 20/25 minute walk through the city so not too bad. The hostel has basic facilities and decent...

I arrived what appeared to be a prison but I was wrong apparently it was a "hotel". Fyi the rooms are dirty and smell and also the beds if you can call them that are basically big bricks and don't even give any movement I've actually slept in comfier floors.. When checking out no one was at reception at all...

This is a very basic hostel. Beds terribly uncomfortable, springs can be felt through the mattress, shower mouldy and shower head broken - difficult to take a shower, no soap dispensers working, towels at extra charge only when reception open. Three large flights of stair to carry luggage up, no elevator.

Spent 6 nights here with my friend! Had trouble figuring out how to get in when we first arrived, but realised that we had to get the key from the bar next door. The room was okay. Fits 6 people and there are 3 double decker beds. I had my own space to lay out all my belongings and we...

It's very basic old-style pub accomodation. For $75, I had a double bed to myself with shared bath; on George Street, an easy walk from Central Station. The receptionist was kind and pleasant. 20 dollar room key deposit, returned on departure. I am confident that the pillows, the sheets on the bed and the towels were clean. Not so sure...

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Tiger-flanked archways on Dixon Street mark the entrance to the “little Asia” of Sydney. A walk through Chinatown is a feast for the senses where aromas, tastes, sounds and visions of dancing tigers transport you to a different world. Chinatown visitors can expect a melting pot of Asian food at the neighbourhood's specialty delis and groceries. From yum cha to handmade noodles, BBQ ducks hanging in the window to Asian sweets and bakeries, there is something for all tastes. Paddy’s Markets is the largest flea market in Sydney where you can find souvenirs, clothing, gifts and fruit and vegetables at unbeatable prices. At night, Chinatown comes alive with entertainment including theatre, nightclubs and bars that are open until the early morning.
