The Palisade is a regular lunch venue for us, but for my wifes birthday, we decided to book an overnight stay. We chose the Alice Muskett room which was small, but with a great balcony view of the Harbour Bridge and another window overlooking Barangaroo. Although the rooms are not Air-Conditioned, because of the builings position on the top of the high point the beautiful breeze was more than adequate. Very comfortable bed, excellent bed linen with mini bar and en suite, all spotlessly clean. We celebrated in the Henry Deane on the top floor. Superb tapas and cocktails, wonderful service from the great staff. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience, so much so, that we've already booked another stay in Jan 2021.

Nice boutique hotel in a ?historic building. Good location for walking distance to Quay and The Rocks for fit guests, though some construction and poor signposting can make the walk tricky.
Rooms are fine though small. Best mattress we have had in a long while in a boutique hotel. Main drawback is the noise, as all guest rooms are close to street, to car horns, party goers etc can be very loud at times (to be expected in this city location)

We had excellent stay at the hotel. Staff was so nice. Our room was Alice Muskett and the reason why we booked the room was because of the view of the Sydney Harbour right from our balcony. The interior of the room was nice as well. One thing needs concern though, they need to have aircon in the room instead of fan since it could get a little hot day and night. Oh and the painting of an old maid in our room was a little creepy. Haha. Overall we had a good time staying in the hotel and would love to stay again.

We came here to try the rooftop bar during Vivid before going on to see the Vivid Festival events. It was very busy and they seated us at a table outside on the terrace. No menus were provided. After 10 minutes we went up to the bar and asked for a menu. We were promptly told it was table service, given some menus and informed someone would come to our table for our order. We waited another 15 minutes. Not even a hint of someone coming out for a drinks order was forthcoming. I went up to the bar again and was told to wait for table service. After another 10 minutes, l gave up and went elsewhere. Shame, because the view up there on the rooftop bar is spectacular and the menu sounded great. Its a beautiful heritage hotel with a lot of character. I'm just less tolerant of poor service after a few bad experiences in Sydney during Vivid week. I get that the industry is suffering and its difficult to get enough staff. However, we were in Melbourne the week prior to Sydney and service there was considerably better in all venues and I'm sure they are suffering from the same staff shortages there too.

Absolutely fantastic.
Only way I can describe the Hotel Pallisade experience.
Quiet location on the reserve of The Rocks, this old pub has been transformed into a swank rocking joint.
Ground floor pub with both outdoor and indoor seating, upper level accommodation (two floors) then upper level bar and restaurant.
Sounds pretty simple but sometimes simple is the best.
Rooms modern albeit small but perfect for a getaway night - views north to the harbour and south to the Mecca of the city.
Oddly enough incredibly quiet and a stones throw from bars, restaurants and all city activities.
Restaurant on the top floor is a must and definitely book well in advance.
Can’t rate highly enough and will return next year for another round.
Enjoy!!!

Had a Xmas party here on weekend. Beautiful views from balcony even though it rained on and off and rooms were lovely. Very surprised though that they only had boutique beers or pale ales and none of the standard beers and food was very disappointing.
Stayed in one of the rooms which also had lovely views but quite expensive seeing as you couldn't swing a cat in the room as it was so small.

Lived in Sydney all my life and have never been to this pub before - came recommended from another local Hotelier, and was pleasantly surprised at how good the outlook is from the top floor of this Hotel. A nice place for a cold beer, but once you take the lift to the 4th (top) floor, you will not believe the view of the greatest harbour in the world, Sydney. From the bar at the top, the view was amazing, the service was quick and very friendly, but from here, your eyes are peeled to the outside to witness a magnificent setting that is Sydney. Try and arrive around sunset to take in the change in scenery.
This is a must do, yes, a must do..!

The room was very quaint and beautifully appointed with a good shower. The staff could not have been more welcoming and friendly. Our flight was delayed so we were arriving after hours and Jen waited for us to arrive to help us in even after she had messaged us and given us instructions for the key box. On checking out we needed to leave our luggage and again the staff could not have been more accommodating and helpful especially as we had so many bags as we were bringing extras for our daughter!

On the two higher floors, Henry Deane is a venue with a lovely view of Sydney Harbour - it’s a great place for a special occasion. My companion and I came here to celebrate my birthday. We enjoyed Abalone Potato, Patty Pans (but this was not what we expected - we thought it would be individual pieces, but it wasn’t), Prawn Tails and a really nice Shiraz. It was a lovely evening - make sure you go out on the balcony, another lovely experience. The whole thing was delightful. Thank you.

There is metered parking available but first come first. Otherwise probably best parking spots in neighbouring streets. Depending on what you had planned best maybe heading via public transport and Uber home.

Sorry but the staff argued that the service charge was compulsory. We refused to pay it as the service was lousy. They also had prices on the menu not including GST - which is illegal in Australia.
