Unfortunately was not able to stay very long as we had an early flight but but the cook had a continental breakfast out even though it was a half hour before breakfast started and Jim helped out with getting a car to airport. Room was nice nor overly done with decor as some B&B's. Had a view the Opera house...

I booked this place based on the reviews, lest be clear this is a bed and breakfast not a hotel. But they charge more than the hotel next door a 5 star Shangri-La Hotel? The picture is deliberately deceptive the front door actually sits high up a flight of steps from street level. So if you have mobility issues forget...

Dear Robert M Thanks kindly for your review. We are unhappy you did not enjoy your stay. May we also point out a few 'facts' regarding your review. In your own words, we are not a 5 star hotel, so why would we have porterage for a middle aged man over 6 foot 4 travelling on their own who had...

Fabulous place to stay - just love the Rocks area in Sydney. Great breakfast, very friendly owners & central to a wonderful, vibrant area in Sydney to stay in. My advice, put on your walking shoes - grab a your camera and explore this heritage area of Sydney. Pop into the Mercantile for a quick ale to top off the...

I stayed for 2 nights March 17-19. I reserved the townhouse because I wanted a private bath and air conditioning. Pros: The location is great in the Rocks area. Saturday there is a really great artisans market just down the street. The owners are really friendly and helpful. Cons: What I received for over $300 a night was a room...

We had one night at the B&B and enjoy our stay. It is well located and is approx 5 minutes walk to the Rocks area Restaurants and Bars and there are two Hotels in the same street within a few hundred metres for a drink or meal. The room was big and the bed was comfortable with our own bathroom...

I arrived at this historic building early afternoon. It is a 5 min walk from circular quay. Easy to find. Linda was very welcolming. She told me some of Sydney's history. This is set in a superb location, right in the middle of the Rocks. The rooms are named after famous historical figures connecterd with Australia. I was surprised the...

I love this B&B and keep coming back. As a Sydneysider it offers such a warm and comfortable venue, with beautiful venues and extremely central location. It's my venue of choice when I'm away from home and James and Linda make me feel truly welcome with each visit. The history of the building and it's glorious originality is just beautiful....

My husband and I really enjoyed staying at this Bed and Breakfast and we could see the Opera House from the window in our room. James and Linda, the proprietors, were very nice and our breakfasts were ample and yummy. We stayed in the Banks Room and shared a restroom but never saw the other guests, so it was not...

Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
