Over all I was very happy with this hotel. It was very cheap room, clean, tidy, conveniently located to kings cross (don't let the reputation put you off), KIngs cross train station, supermarkets and shops. Bed was comfy, bathroom was of good size, clean and heaps of hot water. Very friendly staff. Free internet. Laundry on roof top level with...

We stayed at Lido Suites for its closeness to St Vincents. We booked and paid for 13 nights. When hospital accommodation became available, manager Andrew could not be more helpful. He offered a refund on our remaining stay. From the beginning the staff were helpful and gave us a room in the quietest corner of the hotel and it was...

I booked and paid for a room here, but never actually stayed in it. The room itself was disgusting, think Russian prison. I went to make a cup of tea, opened the kettle and saw there were maggots crawling around in there. Lovely. At this point I left and had to pay for another hotel. Lido Suites refused to give...

Overall, we're satisfied with our stay in Lido Suites with the nice, big room we had which was suitable for family (especially we had a baby with us). Though, there was no breakfast included in the accommodation, we can commend on the one hand the hotel's prompt housekeeping service. Also, the hotel's location was great since it's near the train...

After paying $80 for overnight parking at Kings Cross, Wilson Parking. We were informed by the parking attendant that we were able to get a parking ticket for $25 from the Hotel. No one at Lido informed us of this. After contacting a foreign receptionist who understood very little English we returned to the Hotel. The Owner was present and...

The person who seems to own this place is a huge jerk and was extremely rude to me and my group. Extremely rude. I strongly advise against staying here. We walked in at about midnight one night and hardly made a sound. He came out of his room and claimed that we weren't staying there, despite us having our room...

Pros: 1) The hotel is at the heart of Kings Cross, within 1 minute walking distance from the Kings Cross Train Station. Hyde park/CBD is within 15 minutes walking distance. Town Hall/Queen Victoria Building is within 30 minutes walking distance. If you use train, you can reach Circular Quay in 10 minutes (Kings Cross to Martin Place by Train, then...

This simple hotel is not a terrible experience. However it is more of a stay-to-sleep place for those who want to experience Sydney on a budget. If you are expecting luxury at the prices you are at the wrong hotel. However, for students and friends this is a great place. You are only a few minutes from some amazing KX...

We booked this hotel for the new year period as everything else was so expensive however it's on par with a hostel! We booked a studio room which happened to be on the 3rd floor but when we pulled the curtain back all we could see was a brick wall approximately 18" away from our window. Being a studio room...

Wow! The price was reasonable and the location is great however the Hotel was horrible. The room had not been cleaned for sometime, there was dust on the tables, the window was broken, the room itself smelt musty and mouldy. there was mould all over the bathroom ceiling and the shower leaked that bad it came out under the door...

Staying in Kings Cross

Neighbourhood Profile
Kings Cross
Changing liquor laws are remodeling "The Cross," Sydney's red light district. These new rules have encouraged trendy cafes and boutiques to pop-up in the area, as well as organic markets on Saturdays. The area's nightclubs are still popular with youngsters, however, who will dance to the early morning hours on weekend nights. There are plenty of artifacts from Kings Cross' shady past when gangsters and liquor houses owned the place. Today, one can still find a variety of adult entertainment venues in this evolving area.
