We have stayed at Kimpton hotels before and really like the concept. So we did not hesitate to choose Kimpton for our visit in Sydney. The hotel and the room we got look perfect. Nice interior and lots of space. But this Kimpton does not make it to the top in our book. The hotel is on the expensive side as is breakfast included. So we were surprised to be told that we could only have one cup of coffee in the morning with our included breakfast. No refill. That would cost extra. Seriously? The second day of our stay we did not get housekeeping. She arrived at 4.45 pm at which time we were back in the room and needed some time there and she could not get back much later as we were the last room to make. Not very elegant! Housekeeping should come earlier. Tea in the room are the cheepest and most horrible tasting tea bags I have experienced. Not a good place to cut expenses. The sheet on the bed does not fit properly (or rather, it is put on top of a top madras loosly) so it is constantly messing around. Really annoying. We absolutely loved our last stay at a Kimpton hotel, which was in Tokyo, but this time we are not completely thrilled. Kimpton Margot, you could easily get things right! The hotel and the rooms are lovely.

Hotel's Favourite
I stayed for one night (Check in 31st May 2023, Room 316) Upon arrival i was greeted by a very friendly check in staff member , who then proceeded to upgrade me to a room with a living space. Overall, i found the room to be clean, modern and very spacious. Other staff members were friendly and welcoming too. And i found the a la carte breakfast to be of high quality. As others have mentioned earlier, the hotel is in a fantastic location, as it is within walking distance to QVB, Town Hall station and Pitt St Mall. The only negatives i could find were that the room views are not great (Surrounded by other parts of the hotel or other buildings), and the hotel entrances are not clearly marked / Hard / Confusing to locate for first time guests.

Dear desafinado74, We really appreciate your wonderful 5 star review! Thank you so much for staying with us and for taking the time to let us know about your recent experience from May. It is great to read how much you enjoyed our spacious, clean, and modern rooms, not to mention our friendly staff. We appreciate the helpful information about our entrance, we certainly will take this on board for review. We do have many different room categories to choose from, some with great city views too for your next visit! Warm Regards, Kenza Sebti Guest Experience Manager

There is a lot to say about this hotel, but unfortunately the bad far outweighs the good. The Good Very friendly and attentive staff, ready to help with anything. Nicely appointed room with a comfortable bed. Great rooftop pool. Daily drinks hour. The Bad There are steps and no ramp at the entrance, and no porter in sight to help with the bags. There is another entrance, but it is on another street where taxis cannot stop. A bizarre lighting setup in the room where you cannot turn on the bedside lamp without turning on other lamps. The light in the bathroom is so badly placed that there are always shadows on your face. The iron provided is a dry iron. It looks like someone who has never ironed anything was trying to save money. As we were leaving we asked for the porter to pick up our bags and bring them downstairs. He arrived a couple of minutes late then disappeared with our bags for ten minutes. Meanwhile, we were waiting in the lobby for our bags and our car was there. It seems they need more than one porter. Overall, the good location and great staff (except the porters) did not make up for the rest.

Very nice stay at the Kimpton Margot 👍🏻 We encountered some noise from the nearby Metro work…and Reception simply upgraded us to a corner Suite - Fantastic! ⭐️ Excellent breakfast and good, clean and modern gym (Barbell, Free Weights etc) The staff in the downstairs cocktail bar were fantastic; specific praise to Barbi and Jo - they made fantastic drinks and really made us feel welcome 👏🏻

Housekeeping took away what would have been a 5 star experience at Kimpton Margot. We were pleasantly surprised to find that we were upgraded to a very spacious corner suite. Unfortunately, the room was not maintained well. Not sure if is their policy but they never bothered to clean the glasses all throughout our stay. The bathroom floors were sticky and filthy. If not for these, this would have been an excellent experience what with the spacious rooms and the unbeatable location. Close to all the shops and restaurants.

Lovely hotel, centrally located. Sensitively repurposed building. Quiet, comfortable and stylish rooms. Really great restaurant and upstairs bar. Staff were welcoming and efficient. Was so nice to have a coffee and read the papers in the gorgeous atrium.

This is a really great IHG hotel that has an individual art deco aesthetic and does not feel or present as a bland chain hotel. Hotel is located on Pitt St so you can walk all the way to Circular Quay if you are up for a long walk. The hotel is close to restaurants and theatre. The lobby is cavernous but warm and inviting with the art deco furnishings and devour that is throughout the whole hotel. Reception staff friendly and willing to offer recommendations and tourist advice etc. Rooms are large and well equipped and the corner suites are luxurious with sofas and a huge bathroom with walk un shower. The hotel is dog friendly and some of the rooms are equipped for your dogs hotel stay, free of charge! Luke Megan restaurant on site for a delicious dinner or breakfast and the lobby bar also serves drinks as and a bar menu to midnight. If you want a great hotel that does not feel like the bland chain experience then this is a great hotel and location in Sydney

We had a wonderful stay at the Kimpton Margot Sydney. It started upon check in and our two interconnecting rooms, we had our daughters in one room and my husband and I in the interconnected room. Our puppy came for her first birthday. The check in was easy and the the staff were delightful and came to pet our pup and make sure everything was taken care of. The rooms are spectacular and there was a dog bed and bowls already in the room and waiting. There were 18 dogs staying in the hotel and all of the staff were so friendly and happy to see them. The reception drinks were amazing. Rumble was absolutely outstanding. He made time to connect with each of us and our pup and our children. The service from Rumble was immaculate and faultless and we are well travelled and have high standards so our compliments are even greater than you would expect. Our glasses were never empty, Rumble offered menus and we ordered meals for the family and the girls were able to get apple juice. Thank you Rumble for bringing the amazing IHG standards and impeccable service to us and our family this June long weekend. You made our holiday amazing!! The food for dinner via the bar was absolutely excellent. The girls had Wagyu burger and fish and chips and we had sushimi and scallops. Absolutely faultless. We will come again and we comment Rumble as an employee that goes above and beyond and provides absolutely outstanding customer Service. Cannot wait for our next stay either as a couple or with the kids.

We are a group of friends getting together for the first time in 5 years. The hotel service very excellent and their greatest interest was to assure that we enjoyed our reunion. There was no request small or big that was any trouble for them. Even the organising of a celebratory cake on Sunday was done with a minimum of fuss and assistance with plates and cake forks ...and the cutting of the cake. The Wilmot Bar looked very elegant when we assembled for drinks on Friday night prior to a superb meal at "Lukes Kitchen". It was very satisfying to see how much my friends enjoyed their stay at the Kimpton Margot.

By far the best Sydney hotel for business trips or family or any trip! I travel a lot for work, this hotel has over sized rooms, rooms are very quiet and the staff are exceptional. They go above and beyond expectations every stay. The most fantastic roof top pool and bar feels like I am in Europe in the middle of Sydney. The gym is huge and the most up to date treadmills and great weights and machine options (always feels like no one else uses it). Luke M food is outstanding and not overly prices but…..again the roof top bar is a great surprise I wish it was open every day of the week!
