Travellers' Choice
In December 2015, one of Sydney's finest examples of art deco glamour opened its doors as the 5 Star Primus Hotel Sydney. The hotel is in the heart of the city near Town Hall and some of the city's most iconic attractions and several public transport options. This heritage sensitive refit of the former Sydney Water Board headquarters has breathed new life into an iconic 1930's building. With an exacting approach to retaining and reinstating the internal detailing, the refurbishment by leading global design studio Woods Bagot has brought a sense of modern timelessness and convenience to space. The generously sized 172 rooms and suites feature lavish interiors, free WiFi and contemporary bathrooms creating an authentic and engaging experience for guests. Our suites are ideal for guests who seek large spaces during their stay in Sydney; each suite comes with a living and dining area and bedroom. The Grand Lobby Bar is a haven for people wanting to relax with a touch of old-world charm while the ad-joining all-day dining restaurant, The Wilmot, brings high-end dining back to the city with a modern, comfortable twist. The New York-style rooftop heated pool with sundeck is the perfect respite from the bustle of the streets below. From beautiful meeting rooms to three dedicated boardrooms, the hotel provides unique events and conference spaces. Hospitality is at the heart of Primus Hotel Sydney.

Staying in the new Primus exceeded my expectations. I love the big rooms and its heavenly quiet. The bathrooms are not much smaller than my whole apartment. We had dinner in the hotel's restaurant the Wilmont, which had a menu my fiance's kids thought was awesome and they are foodie types who have pursued many a menu in their day... The lobby was also a great place for my business meeting. Its like the lobby of the old comm bank building in martin place with these huge red marble columns. Next time when its not pouring with rain we will use the rooftop pool. We are coming back for sure!

What a great hotel from the very first moment you arrive!!! Greeted by smiling staff who are very friendly and very informative - they will definitely tell you about their amazing rooftop bar and pool area as well as the amazing cuisine in the restaurant. The accommodation rooms are very large and the hotel has a real sense of style and glamour. Highly recommend this hotel for stylish corporate travel or a romantic weekend away.

Ok, this is a newly open hotel but OMG, what a find. Its an old converted building which hails from a opulent era, unlike all the new modern hotels which are just glass and steel, this is like something from a time go by, but in a good way. From the minute you walk in you feel like million dollars, Bogart or Hepburn, its a glamorous entrance with the marble and brass, greeted by the staff and walked to the reception, and what a reception, truly a magnificent building. The rooms are very well appointed and a lot of though has gone into the detail, very quiet and comfortable, the location is incredible you are 2 mins to Pitt St, QVB and chinatown, we could not have asked for a better spot. My only fear is this become a poplar hotel before we have chance to return. For a new
