Detailed Reviews
Over 100 years old and loved the feel and character of the place the moment we walked in. Always people around the either inside, or sitting outside having a casual beer and a feed. All of the young Managers we dealt with met you with a handshake and were more than happy to assist you. The rooms as mentioned are basic, but comfortable and the shared bathrooms were very good and clean. Breakfast was cereal, yogurt, toast, coffee or juice which you helped yourself in a great old room and did the job. Good pub food, heaps of beer choices and you can throw a rock pretty much and hit the Harbour Bridge and its a few minutes walk to Circular Quay. Loved the place and our two night stay and would be perfect place if you are jumping on a cruise boat and need to stay overnight, I'd suggest add an extra night whilst you are at it.

Margaret on Reception called to confirm my booking I made online, and ensured everything was perfect when we checked in, I had spilt shower gel all through my bag, she washed our clothes and placed in the dryer for me and brought them to the room after a long drive here. She went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and was so helpful with directions, restaurants and sight seeing
THANK YOU MARGARET!! Our room was so clean and comfortable with all the essentials required to ensure we were comfortable, Aldi is across the road for those items I forgot to bring and short stroll up the street brings you to many restaurants and shops! I found the hotel by error but will be back to stay on a regular basis as it’s just perfect and I’m the best location and also affordable for the family. THANK YOU

Denise from silverglobetrotters.com visited here several times whilst on holiday in Sydney. It's a vibrant & busy pub with outdoor & indoor seating. It can get very busy especially at weekends, we were glad we had booked a table when we visited on a Friday evening!
The staff are really friendly & nothing is too much trouble.
Highly recommend the pizzas - the Garlic Prawn one is delicious! You should also try the Schnitzel! My husband said that the Beef Pie was just as you would make at home, full of tender meat & rich gravy. Be warned though - portions are large!
Great location - Circular Quay, train station & tram stops are less than a 15 minute walk away.
Great place!

+1
I really like this place and try to stop by whenever I"m in Syndey. I come here for the great pub food, beer and atmosphere. I enjoy the Pepper Kangaroo and Emu pizza, some locally brewed beers, and the overall pub atmosphere, including some local entertainment. And, it's located in a great location; top of the Rocks and near the Harbor Bridge.

Visited so we could specifically try the saltwater crocodile, emu, and kangaroo and were not disappointed. Was my first time having crocodile and it was delicious. Whilst the cuisine is unique all other features mirror that of a typical pub environment, plenty to drink, traditional Aussie favourites on the menu and footy on the telly.

We have stayed here multiple times and the service is impeccable. Hugh and Andy are absolutely service driven to the point they would do anything to assist their clients. Even though it is a bit worn we thoroughly enjoyed our stay again. We look forward to staying after the rehabitation we are sure it will be beautiful.

This is a pub in the Rocks with great character. We had lunch here. The food was very good & the service excellent too.
The bar had great ambience & served some interesting beers.
My wife also saw an excellent sign in the ladies loo that offered support if a woman was feeling uncomfortable with their date.
Bravo, an excellent idea

Just wandered in and found this wonderful pub. They specialize in pizza, but the 'offbeat' pizza like kangaroo and emu are.... an acquired taste. Stick with the basics, or the chicken schnizel. If it's fried, it's gonna be good.
Ask about local brews because they had a few on tap. Outside seating is available, and you can even reserve a seat if you're planning on a weekend. They definitely do not mind if you just sit and sip, even if it's for a few hours.

Room Tip: Go for fried stuff. Do not, under any circumstances, order the nachos. They try, but.... just no.

We ate dinner here because it's the only place were you can get a kangaroo pizza. Had their "Coat of Arms" pizza which has kangaroo and emu on it, which to my surprise, was pretty darn delicious. So if you're looking to try some exotic food covered with cheese, this is your place. Lots of great local beers on tap as well. Service was good, drinks came out right away and the pizzas were out in less than ten minutes.

A busy and popular destination pub! The house special Coat of Arms pizza is extremely good and the beer is great...Go for the jug of beer if there a group of you...we had several. Lots of seating outside under the verandah so worth a visit even if its pouring down.
Ive been here several times and never been disappointed.
