Best hotel in town with all amenities you would expect - pool, room service, concierge 24/7, multiple restaurants and bars, as well as a casino if that's your thing. But the best thing for us was to be greeted each morning by the smiling Chef Owen who always had time for a chat and always willing to suggest local places to visit for the best experiences - we wouldn't have seen some great spots if it wasn't for Owen - he even took us to some cultural areas and as a First Nations person he was able to help us understand the stories as well as the cultural significance of the areas. Owen did not charge for this service, he offered and I'm glad we took him up on the offer. If I was Crowne Plaza I would make Uncle Owen their local Customer experience Manager immediately, thanks Crowne but thanks to Owen we'll definitely be back !

Due to last minute Covid related flight changes I ended up in Alice, unexpectedly, one night on the way to Uluru with my partner and teenage kids.
I booked direct with the hotel call centre and saved $50 compared to hotel websites and had 4 full breakfast included at under $190.
We has a superior double double room overlooking the pool with two queen beds and a full refit of the bathroom, fittings, fixtures and carpet.
The new bathroom was beautiful although it did not have a bat, but I don’t really expect it in the desert.
If you have mobility issues or were staying longer a ground floor pool side room would be fantastic as the lift layout is limited due to the low level nature of the hotel.
One of the reasons I choose the hotel was the heated spa as pool temperature can still be unpleasantly cold in October, we were not disappointed.
Despite being poolside we were able to sleep with the balcony doors open which was fantastic. No late night pool noise and a lovely cool breeze rather than needing the room sealed and aircon pumping.
I found the reception staff really helpful.
We would happily stay there again especially on a longer trip.

We stayed with our two girls (16 & 12) for three nights in a one bedroom suite on the first floor in Block 2.

We paid $40/night extra to upgrade to the one bedroom suite and it was well worth it.

The bedroom had two queen beds & we all slept well. The living space had a table (which we played board games on) and a desk, which my partner worked at. The view from the living room was of the pool and the bedroom window faced the hotel garden/central courtyard.

Highly recommend joining and booking through the IHG website/app - it’s free to join, almost definitely has the best rates and members get 10% off food at the hotel’s restaurants + we got a pack of Ferraro roche on arrival to thank us for being members (though this was our first stay).

The pool was great, the gym was good. The Juicy Rump restaurant was excellent value with great daily specials ($10 lunch options/ $56 for family of four for lunch).

We didn’t go into the casino at all & weren’t bothered by it.

It was way too hot to walk or cycle into town while we were there, we hired a car from Thrifty (7 days one way to Uluru for $350ish, (cheaper to pick up in town than at the airport), no one way fee, though only 100km/day, 32c/km after that, still an excellent deal).

All up, staying at the Crowne was a great experience.

Posting photos of room as I couldn’t find much info on the one bedroom option beforehand - I imagine it’s quite different from the two level two bedroom apartments in Block 5 which are a lot more expensive. The one bedroom option was great for us and we had a lovely New Year there.

Also - go to the Kangaroo Sanctuary just outside of Alice! It’s run by amazing people and we had an incredible experience there cuddling joeys, the kids will never forget it.

The hotel is in quite desperate need of a refresh. The bedroom cupboards wouldn’t close properly, the chair in the room was very grotty, there was mould growing in the shower that I cleaned up with a face washer so clearly the cleaning isn’t up to standard and the general decor is dated. Some of the tables and chairs in the casual dining area were chipped or torn. We were also told that because we wouldn’t be receiving housekeeping for the 4 nights we stayed (I guess staffing is problematic due to covid), we would receive $15/night in credits that could be used for food and beverage orders. When we went to check-out (2 rooms x 4 nights) we were told that because we didn’t have the vouchers we needed, that we wouldn’t be entitled to the credit. We were never told that we would receive vouchers and therefore we never knew to ask for them. I happened to find 2 vouchers sitting on my desk but missed out on the 3rd because of a Do Not Disturb sign I had hanging on my door (my colleague had his sign on the whole 4 days). We were entitled to $90 worth of credit but received nothing AND no housekeeping, yet we paid ludicrous prices for our rooms! The system feels intentionally complicated and misleading. If you know people aren’t receiving housekeeping, why don’t you just apply the credit off their bill at the end?? Why the need for complicated voucher systems that clearly don’t work! I wouldn’t stay here again.

We stayed in a large two-bed room for 5 nights. The storage was great to unpack. We were on the first floor and enjoyed having a balcony which overlooked the pool. Seating on the balcony.
Bedding was very comfortable and we found extra pillows and blankets in the upper cupboards.
Bathroom was very roomy with lots of storage and hairdryer. Best thing was the night light in the bathroom that allowed use during the night without waking the other person as no light had to be turned on.
2 robes and slippers were provided.
A decent ironing board and quality iron were appreciated. Lots of powerpoints for charging etc.
Due to staff shortages ( everywhere in NT) we were offered at checkin the option of not having room service and given $60 in food/ drink vouchers when we agreed.
We still had coffee tea sugar topped up and some fresh towels changed a few days in plus rubbish bins emptied. We used the vouchers on our last meal at Tali restaurant.
The pool was fantastic and I swam every afternoon with a spa afterwards.
Pool towels are available from Reception. There is a small kiosk on the pool deck but very limited range on offer which was disappointing.
There was no shuttle bus from the hotel and we had to use taxis ($10 ) till our hire car was available. The main street is easily walkable.
Dinner meals are limited to Tali restaurant at the hotel and we had two excellent meals there. You need to book ahead. Large tour groups seem to fill it up quickly or book for later in the evening to avoid the crush.
Other walk in option is a short walk away in the casino. Pub food but we had a nice meal there. Just uncomfortable seating inside. Too cold to sit outside but we froze every time the adjoining door to outside seating opened.
There is a room service menu.
The air con was very good. Had it on cooling during the day and heating on at night.
The layout of the blocks was a little confusing at first and lifts were spaced so we had a long walk to our room but at least there was a lift!
Interaction with staff was always friendly and helpful.
Overall a lovely experience for our first time in Central Australia.

The room (in block 5) was a "King Premium". Sounds fancy but pretty well your standard hotel room. Everything seems just a little worn and grimy, but generally ok.
The aircon worked, but only just. You certainly couldn't sleep under the doon if that's what you like to do. It wasn't hot, but certainly wasn't cool like most hotels I've been in. I wonder what it would be like in Summer? The fridge in the room was in about the same league as the aircon. It kept things at whatever the cool opposite of lukewarm is. As I had milk in there I got worried after the first day or so about how well it would keep. Also other drinks I had were barely cold, and you certainly couldn't make ice (not a chance) so I resorted to buying 1 $20 esky from the local supermarket and getting ice each day. The ice machine/dispensers at the hotel are not operating, so I had to either buy a bag while in town, or get an ice bucket filled at one of the restaurants. Ah, yes, the restaurants. Only three of the five advertised are actually open. I ate at the "Juicy Rump" the first night, and had a pretty ordinary steak sandwich which featured raw onion in place of the advertised caramelised onion, and an overcooked steak. The next night I thought I'd try the Casbah. I ordered the Thai Beef salad, which was without doubt the poorest rendition of that dish I've ever had. I didn't try the seemingly upmarket Tali restaurant. After my first two meals at the hotel I gave up, and went into town and ate a series of good meals at "Sporties". The room maintenance leaves something to be desired. Used glasses are not replaced by fresh one. The empty tissue dispenser was left unfilled for two days (there was one solo tissue sticking out of it when i arrived...I took it out and it remained empty for the next 48 hrs). There was no brush in the toilet brush container. On one day, they didn't make up my room at all.
Most of the staff I spoke to in reception (and the bars and restaurants) were friendly and helpful, with the exception of one woman on reception who was absolutely useless. Overall, it wasn't terrible, but it was ordinary enough that I'd gp elsewhere next time. I went into the Hilton next door to check on their restaurant, and the whole place seemed so much nicer that I came to the realization that I'd made a mistake by booking the Crowne over the Hilton.

This is a nice property with good location. We arrived at 4.30pm and the room wasn’t ready even thought checkin is 3pm. Breakfast is basic but good and the service was fair. The upmarket restaurant was good but the other dining option was nothing short of appalling, serving cold food with at least a 90 minute wait. Most diners complained the night we were there with many cancelling orders and requesting refunds. Housekeeping in the room was non existent with low staffing levels being offered as reasoning. The management company seems amateur and most staff looked as thought they had no idea of what they were doing. We had a great meal at the neighboring Hilton and will try their accommodation next time. Our trip was still fantastic as Alice has so much to offer.

We were terribly dissapointed with the casino and its beer being served hot and the drinks are ridiculously expensive! also very unruly and annoying clientele, our room service meal was cold on arrival and not eaten, breakfast in the morning at tali took over 45 minutes for our tea and coffees to arrive, breakfast about an hour with uncooked bacon, dirty plates left on tables with numerous wait staff walking straight by without clearing the tables and left there for the whole time we were there, they also left us sitting with our plates for over 20 minutes.

Overall very dissapointed with our stay.

The reception staff and duty manager were fabulous, but overall other staff need serious retraining.

During a short family vacation to visit the red centre we booked at this hotel twice; once on the night of our arrival and the night prior to our departure.

The first visit was adequate enough, although the complex feels like a compound as there is security gates to enter each block within the hotel that said within the room itself decor was reasonable, it was clean and relatively quiet.

We arrived late therefore dined in the hotel that evening and on the whole although nothing was startlingly great we had no real complaints .

The second visit was a different kettle of fish, my wife requested the same room as before but we were told they were fully booked and the room was not available, which we thought was fair enough provided the alternative was of a similar standard, after a short period of checking on his system the chap on reception then excused himself to speak to the manager regarding a complementary upgrade, oh repeat custom rewards we presumed but then he returned apologising no upgrade was available. The receptionist then again apologised and offered meal and drinks vouchers for all the confusion (alarm bells).

On arrival to the room it was soon apparent why they attempted to upgrade / compensate us the room was tired and in desperate need of renovation. The rate we paid would have been a stretch to justify for the first visit but the second was scandalous.

With the adjoining casino within the complex there is another issue we discovered during our second stay hotel patrons returning to their accommodation in the early hours fuelled up on drink I would not recommend this hotel to families or couples looking for a relaxing stay.

I have stayed at lassiters many times in the past and its always been quite good however my most recent stay was very different. I stayed here for a two week business trip and from the start it was disappointing. First up the lift wasn't working for the first night and second day, not a big deal but a pain when you are lugging two weeks worth of clothes and work gear up stairs, then neither of my bedside lamps were working, again, a small thing but annoying. The Juicy Rump was a let down too. On the first night the buzzer to pick up my steak didn't work so eventually they dropped it at my table, I have no idea how long it sat on the bar for but by the time I got it it was a barely warm overcooked piece of shoe leather. My work mate asked for a change in salad option and was refused even though the requested change was being served as a part of other dishes! How hard could it be??
On another night we got the two for one steak deal luckily I got the paid for wagu steak but my workmates "free wagu looked like a Coles discount special. The breakfasts which used to be a strong point were now so bad that by the third day we stopped eating there. Cold (and I mean cold) eggs, cold undercooked bacon and bread with some lines scorched into it that were supposed to be toast. We even sent it back on one of the days but were still charged and again not changes allowed, not even adding bacon to the omelette.
The bar is so understaffed that I felt sorry for them and some would clearly rather be elsewhere. As I waited in line again and again I heard many people complaining. They stuffed up my bill twice over charging me and charging the wrong tab another time.
Lastly for my entire two week stay my bed sheets were not changed once and the room only lightly cleaned!
Rarely do I write a negative review like this and I know Covid makes things difficult such as buffet breakfasts etc but this just wasn't good enough.
Very disappointed.

There was no hidden tax, but there is a ~1.5% surcharge if you pay by credit card. This can be avoided by using a credit card to guarantee the room / authorisation only, but settling the bill in cash at the hotel. (We did this).

Sorry, I forgot to mention the dress code. No specific requirements, just tidy casual in all areas. When I was there in April of the 5 eating areas, only one was closed. They do have room service, and I mut say the light snack food available at the service bar was excellent.
